just tried after new car update because cars are way too slow.. doesnt work for me, keeps veering off right or left and tires grip onto the siderails. not sure if its because new grip on tires?? had one before and worked fine, made another one today 3000+ meters and didnt try my other ones before making a new one, and none of them work anymore. any way to do it else?
was thinking maybe with new small dynamic foundation and new wheels? having trouble getting it to work, any help would be much appreciated as all of my rails dont work anymore lol
Hey haskyns, I built your rail about a week ago, and it has been working great. But in this last update it has been really slow. I added a few more thrusters and it sped it up a lot, but I don’t know much about the technical side of the game and it might break. do you have any tips?
I noticed how slow it is. I was able to get it moving faster with 3 large thrusters but its still not the same. Pretty upset about some of the stuff they did this update.
I love the simplicity of this, I’ll defiantly give this a go. If you put down a chair and sit in it do you still fly off? I was trying to build a launch tower and kept having it explode on me, I think a redesign to a jump pad tower into the train will be better. Love the creativity keep it up!!
I’ve given up on these roads. I have a good system with my flying vehicles. I’ve given up on turning systems. But I’ve found my aerial vehicles drift to the right due to asymmetry. So if I put two large thrusters going toward, one small goin to the left, all on one switch, I can still steer. I do this by when I activate my switch. If I activate immediately after, it always drifts right, but if I let it settle for three seconds or so, hit it again, it does a hard drift right. I can fly forever with this thing and the only issue is elevation when I leave. But I build big stairs around my poi to glide onto it.
The toys definitely cause some problems in the game. I hope they fix them so can use whatever we want. Im someone who always has issues with flying stuff so this system has worked best for me.
Idk im having the same issues i have with all these types of vehicles is that the tires get stuck & i do tripple check each component to make sure everything is done correctly do idk 🤷♂️
Im not sure this works 100% of the time after the updates. What system do you play on? Also, the dynamic foundation should not be hit, it’s the post that building on that should be hit.
i built the railways, made everything correct. im in the vehicle update and i noticed the cat doesnt move, at all. i tried replacihg my medieval rails with rustic and it didnt fix the problem. idk if its off centered or because i had a driver seat connected to each thruster to skip the activation switch step but it looks like it just drags onto the side of the rails edit: the car swerves to the left of the track immediately after activating the thruster also. anyone know how to fix that?
@@Haskyns thanks I've also been trying other methods of transportation using this type of road for hours but the only solution I can think of is using power cells, which isn't appealing
I tried building a new road today over water and got pretty far and then got a message that says structure too large. I tried building stairs down. Then moved over went back up to try and continue in the same direction and again got the same message. It doesn’t seem to be the end of the map though. Has this ever happened to you or anyone else?
@@Haskyns Thanks for the reply, this was on PC. Also, I was able to continue walking on the ground in the direction of the road so I know I wasn't at the edge of the map.
Ah yes this occurs to me as well. I believe from any given build there is a square limit on all sides. Thus you can only go so far north, south, east and west from one point to another while connected to one another. I just build up again with 1 or 2 space apart from where I left off and continue straight. *Important* building off from a new separate line of connecting builds will let you build into the border of the previous connection (the one that told you it’s too large) do not build it. If you do everything you made on the new collection disappears. Before they just turned into the resources, but with the new update it just vanishes. So make sure when you are trying to get it as close to each other as possible to jump but not built connected or below/above the building border. Believe me I was making elevator towers and this railroad to get from my plain biome to desert biome village, and I had to make separate connection builds. First time I made my second elevator tower and started building a pathway backwards towards my first railway to get easier access to move between the two. When I placed a staircase going downwards (that way you can walk off the first pathway and walk up the stair to the 2nd) part of it goes below the edge floor, and it allows you to build it. But there is an invisible vertical line going up and down from the edge floor. And since the stair went through it, I just had to watch my new tower and pathway turn into wood in reverse of how I built it. 3-4 hr wasted and had to quickly make chests since it was around 4-5K of wood to store them before the game crashes and all items on ground despawn (used to a lot back then still does a bit now but not as terrible) The villages are about 3.7k m apart btw so far I’ve had to make 3 separate towers and connecting pathways.
Short answer for what I said is to make sure if you want to continue forward, make a new stair case up to the elevation you want and continue building without it touching the edge of the previous platform that told you “object is too large” above or below it to avoid despawning your new builds
This build is obsolete with the new update, no need to break thrusters and remake them just make 2 different thrusters controlled by 2 different channels and put the thrusters in locations that wont hit any end points in the rail system
This build was done 2 months ago… This updated video was to help people that already built it and was before mechanical mayhem. Didnt I just reply to you? Dod you delete your last comment?
Unfortunately, i didnt listen and left my chest on the car and after one night, 5 cars were gone. This is after the latest patch, so be aware. Unfortunately my roads still hit the max. I also wish we had some curved roadway sp we could do a loop, wven create a race track.
I never understood why people are so obsessed with these rail-based systems where you have to build hundreds, if not thousands of meters of road/rail, when you can just fly back and forth between locations (and not be stuck on 90 degree intervals).
It’s all personal preference. These are best for building and connecting the first few main bases across biomes to help quickly progress your survival world. By now, there are enough seeds discovered where grass, frost and drylands are pretty close that you don’t need to set these up all over the map. Once I progress a survival map, I honestly travel mostly by foot once I reach the biome I want to explore. Staying off the ground traveling to everywhere in the map causes you to miss out on so many great resources along your travels.
@@gianluigiribezzo9138That's not true. These monorails are only good for traveling between two fixed points, and require a massive amount of building. That's a lot easier to do with simple flying machines.
@@HaskynsIf the "personal preference" is looks/building challenge, I have no quarrel with that. But if the point is just quickly getting back and forth between two villages, then there are far easier ways to do that, and probably faster as well.

With the update they messed with the thrusters. You have to add a 2nd one by putting a smaller block up front and put the thruster on it
