USA have waged wars 20 years. Theirs soldiers gained some experience. They have suffered some losses. Theirs military production complex have obtained huge profit.

The DPR and LPR have been fighting the war with Ukraine since 2014. Ukraine, with superior military still didn’t win.
If we go by WWI and their trench war, Ukraine would collapse by the end of the year. If the French and UK sent troops on the ground, it would last 2 more years with Russia still winning.
Take note. This is not like Afghanistan. The area that Russia captured are heavily populated by pro-Russian civilians. Next, unlike Afghanistan that is just a dust bowl. Eastern Ukraine is one of the richest reserves of Oil, Coal and Steel. Mariupol is a major Steel production hub ever since the Russian Empire and essential during WW2 production (that’s why Russia did a quick fast-track in rebuilding Mariupol). With every land they capture, Russia is gaining more wealth.
