- Paint is one of the fastest and least expensive ways to give your home a whole new look. So let’s explore some of paint’s effects and some color strategies that you can use to transform your home. Paint can help you create an overall atmosphere so the first thing to ask yourself is how you want the space to feel. Think about the mood you want to create rather than the color trends of the moment which change every year.

@@sunengwei My pleasure!
Love your channel.
Please consider the southern hemisphere in your comments as north light is warm and south light is cool- opposite to the northern hemisphere!!
We painted our upper sunroom outside the master bedroom all the same color, ceilings included October Mist be Benjamin Moore. Because of the vaulted angled ceilings and natural light that floods the room painting the ceiling the coordinating colour just made sense it’s so cozy, moody and dramatic ❤
Sounds beautiful!
Cheers to the magic of paint and the colorful stories it weaves within the walls of your abode! 🎨🏡
Hoping you will do a rustic cabin open beam ceiling decor style.❤
We moved from Florida where I was used to Spanish tile and stucco, to Southern Tennesse where there was lots of wood and a very country vibe. (I'm being very kind) It was amazing how some elbow grease, paint, changing out some fixtures, with our own furniture transformed the house.
Japandi works well here if you're looking to keep some country & tile influence. I'd go with more subtle colors than the garish terra cotta.
Great tips. So much to think about, even trying to choose the right warm white is proving tricky for my north facing cottage in southern hemisphere
So happy you like them! I listed some related videos in the description and I think the ones on soft whites and warm neutrals might be helpful.
We used Benjamin Moore ballet white 🩰 throughout our home. It’s the creamy warm greige colour of my dreams. It’s fresh and cocooning ❤
Your video is a pleasure to view! You are extremely likeable, knowledgeable and prepared, and soothing--unhurried and relaxed. To top it off, you're all about the substance. I've stopped watching just a few people who are giggly and silly over themselves--it's too annoying. Keep it cool here. All the best.
Wow, thank you so much! 😊
My entire house was painted a medium gray color with green undertones before we bought it. I have tried many of your tips and strategies to warm up the rooms without repainting, but I am losing the battle. I am amazed at how paint color and light affects my mood.
Sounds like you're ready for a change!
An excellent video on how colors are influenced by light and reflective properties. Thanks!
My pleasure!
Thank you for all the great tips.
You are so welcome!
My entire house was painted gray inside and I hate gray. It is a pale gray but still dark and depressing in a small home. I have painted three rooms so far and wow, such a difference. I’m looking for a house in the south now but EVERYTHING I find is totally gray, yuk. I think they are selling so they don’t have to repaint. Hate the gray trend!
I'm thinking of painting a focal wall behind the bed. The ceiling and walls are white, and the floors are medium wood tone.
My home has 4 bedrooms and each has its own coloured paint focal wall behind the bed.
In the primary bedroom, deep cherry red.
In my son's bedroom, indigo blue.
In the guest bedroom, dark velvet green.
In the smallest bedroom, buttery yellow.
@balanceRhythm hi- love your video! my bath counter top is light warm quartz with a hint of yellow undertone, but with light grey floor tile, espresso dark brown cabinet, what color of paint/brand would you recommend? Thank you! My painters are arriving in 3 days!
So happy you like the video! It's hard give a specific recommendation without seeing the finishes but it sounds like you need something that works well with warm and cool tones. Taupes and some off-whites could work well depending on how dark you want to go. My best recommendation given the short timeframe is to go to samplize.com and look at their bundles. It's probably too late to order from them but you can identify a few colors and go get some samples to paint (In the US it's pretty easy to find Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore paints). Definitely test them out ahead of time because colors change with the light.
could you pls help i am looking for light natural in white color area that will not only make the house look big and bright but also cozy and warm
Check out this video on soft white paint colors - ua-cam.com/video/sosbq223Zq4/v-deo.html. Those colors are a good starting point.
