    Step by Step Recipe:
    Ingredients
    For the Filling:
    1/2 lbs of Ground Meat
    1 Grated Onion
    1/2 tsp. of black pepper
    For the dough:
    3,5 cups of Flour
    2 Eggs
    2 tsp of salt
    Half a cup of Water
    For the Sauce:
    2 Cloves of Garlic
    Yogurt
    Red Pepper Flakes
    1 tbs. of Butter

    The smaller the better it is. In Kayseri -a city of Turkey where the manti is from- they say they can put 40 of these in a spoon.

    It turned out GREAT! I made meat manti for me and tofu sausage for my vegetarian husband. We're both smiling and full - was just like what I ate in Istanbul. Thank you for sharing the recipe!!!

    Very good, almost like we make them in Adana. A few simple steps might make it better tho. Try not cooking the Manti so long, just until they Float. Make a Paste out of Garlic and Salt and mix that with the Yoghurt, let it rest for a few hours and mix well. And finally, please make the butter/margerine with chili flakes so hot that it foams, it should make a sizzling sound when poured ontop of the Manti, almost like Iskender if you know that.

    For anyone who wants to save so much time, just buy pre-made wonton wrappers, and use that instead of make your own dough. I know it isn't the same, but you'll save so much time.

    I believe Afghan mantoo comes from Turkey. Only difference is we make them the size of dumplings and top the garlic yoghurt with kidney beans or lentil sauce. Yummy! :)

      BgyrlLis Be careful though they tend to Stick together! What they do in Turkey is dry them in the oven a bit before frezing

    Cooking it for 15 minutes seems way too long, they are only small. They’re ready once they float to the top.

      Yeah indeed, Manti should be cooked for 2-3 Minutes or until they float, and the butter with chili flakes should foam up and make a sizzling sound when dripped over the Manti/Yoghurt., thats how my family in Adana Turkiye makes them.

    Why do you switch from the large rolling pin to the small one? I only own a large rolling pin. Will it make a difference?

      +Rafi Sadrodin mantı is central asian cook,, "turk and russian" made it. Afghans learned from turks and russians. I think so kyrgız mantı and turkish(kayseri) mantı is the better than afghan mantı! :)

      +Asil Kurt It is not about who made it. it is about the taste. And for an Afghan of course the best one are Afghan mantu's. That doesn't mean he is insulting you so there is no need for a history lecture on Manti. And the reason I personally like Afghan mantu is because there is a lot of meat in it which is the best ;). Go google it.
