I saw him in Sydney. He walked off because he was really struggling and was copping a lot of flack. Davey said "we'll be back" and apparently went looking for him. Meanwhile Elton came back on, said sorry and then put on a brilliant show. There were tissues all under the piano from his bleeding throat. Brilliant showman Elton is. It sounds silly but I was so proud how he stuck it to his knockers. The saga is documented by Australia's ABC TV on the whole tour. It's an hour long and it is on the Tube as well. I'll never forget that night. A Sydney surgeon brilliantly saved his career.
That blood was actually green puss coming from his vocal cords which was due to the nodules and the excessive weed smoking Elton was doing in 1986. It's wonder his voice even worked to ANY extent by the end of 1986

Looks like around 1986 or a little before recording LIVE performances took on a Fake sounding 'warm' vibe not heard in earlier = I blame (and currently use) Digital technology. Even with that occurring some of these songs still shine through as I patiently listen

Fantastic show with that orchestra! Thanks a million for uploading this. His voice crackles with wear here, I have this on CD and listen to it all the time. He sounded better 10 yrs before in 1976 in Scotland (also on your channel) but that show did not have this orchestra backing him. Magnificent stuff here.

This was likely before EJs throat surgery which helped elevate a lot of the damage his pot smoking had caused. He’s really hoarse here and no falsetto left. He still put on a great show.
He was actually suffering from an intense cold here. My parents were at this concert and had backstage passes and caught the same cold the next day after they met him.
This video was also the very first introduction I had to music at the age of 5. SO much nostalgia here!!!

How can UA-cam remove almost half the songs of this upscaled version of the Sydney ‘86 concert but not the original VHS also on UA-cam? What happened?
Some songs are blocked from anyone but Elton to be uploaded , some videos aren’t high quality, because they haven’t been restored yet . I hope sometime In the future I can restore the other clips , but at least the whole concert is 60 fps right ?
