I'm from the Valley myself and I really loved how you depicted the Rio Grande Valley. Just FYI for those that would like to visit Nana's Taqueria, its actually in Weslaco and not in Mcallen.
Whether she went to McAllen or Weslaco or Nuevo Progresso, she's one of the few who were able to show off little parts of the RGV here and there. I think that for those saying she's being disrespectful or rude, maybe y'all should remember just how often we hear people claim that the RGV is a shithole with nothing to do. Our valley is growing so quickly!! We should be proud of small steps like these and commend her hard work to raise us up in this way.
All of you Valley people stop being rude! Appreciate that there's an actual video on exploring McAllen and some other cities here in the Valley. Many people from up north know the Valley as McAllen it's not her fault.
That's one of the reasons I have a community page called Our Neighborhood Rio Grande Valley, to try to spread the inside scoops. It's ridiculously expensive to advertise here, and people get so localized and don't travel 20 minutes.
Salome on Main, The Republic (10th St), and The Centennial Club are all part of ongoing traditions and fresh food and the locals created them and support them. Salome is a unique thematic culinary experience. Centennial is a historic space as well as high quality. And The Republic has quality to impress industry experts.
Thx for showing love to the small businesses around the Rio Grande Valley. You need to come to South Padre Island and enjoy our beach for spring break!
There is even more other things to do in that area. This to me was mostly restaurants. If you have lived outside Mcallen, Tx you will find that not all the cities in the US have that many shopping centers and restaurants, entertainment centers, and night life. That’s without counting the options to drive for an hour and get to the beach, or 2 hours and get to a Mayor city in Mexico, or even flight. There is also sports events and concerts thru the year. I should do my video, but I do not live in the are anymore lol
I have watched so many of your videos I love traveling and I am so excited to see traveling videos with in the United States so many hidden gems in Texas great content 🎉
My wife and I are retiring to North McAllen, TX and plan to buy a home in a new community called Tres Lagos. We live in the Washington,DC metro area and considered Austin and San Antonio, but we are tired of Big City living. More willing to settle down in a more slow pace community.
All the cities are stuck together you can barely even notice when new city starts and when one ends. Either way McAllen is the most recognizable city in the valley, next to Brownsville
When she was eating tacos at Danny’s taqueria that is in Progreso, Mexico. NaNa’s is located in Weslaco Tx near Progreso, Mexico. Most of the restaurants she did go to are in McAllen, Tx . For the Bars/clubs they are in Downtown McAllen on 17th st. Basically The Rio Grande Valley
