      Hi Andrew,
      Thank you...yes I really enjoyed this kit...car looks like something out of 70s series of Battlestar Galactica!
      Cheers Mark

    did you look up photos in the era to get some historic ideas. you would be surprised what you can find.I really like your creative mind well done on a top kit.

      Thanks Mike...much appreciated!
      Although it can confuse, I always like to use reference pics from online sources. You soon find out that the teams would change many things with the car not just between seasons but also between races. So sometimes I will just take a calculated guess as to what color etc. a section of the car would be. An example of this was the under side of the Brabham...I decided it was white without seeing any reference. Cheers Mark

    Fantastic build. Is the paintwork polished, or is it a 'raw' top coat. I'm currently building the Renault RE20-Turbo & using Zero Paints.

      Thanks Steve...Yes on the Brabham I did polish using Tamiya's compounds (regular, fine and finish) but on the Alfa Romeo I pretty much left it raw as the finish worked out really nice. Adding a bit more thinner really helped me get that glass smooth finish. You can check what worked for me using Zero Paints 2K here...

      Good luck with the Renault...cheers Mark

    Getting this in the mail from Spain soon, and will use your great video as a great guide, indeed. Did the kit come with those seat belt buckles?

      @MKCAUTOMODELWORKS  Рік тому

      Hi Not Great at this...no the seat belts are separate...they are made by Model Factory Hiro...good luck with the build, its been one of my favorite kits so far...cheers Mark

      @@MKCAUTOMODELWORKS Ah, thank-you. And were those seat belts from a crafts store? Might look into those awesome Top Studio hose joints, too - thanks for that lead.

    Did you use another upgrade kit for this tamiya?

    • @MKCAUTOMODELWORKS
      @MKCAUTOMODELWORKS  Рік тому

      Hi Sandy...not really...only added custom seatbelts, pipe fittings and fuel lines...otherwise all stock out of the box...cheers Mark

      Hey Brian...I used Top Studios Silver braided lines. They are very flexible, really like them...Tamiya make nice looking ones too but are very stiff!
      I get these at:
