Well done!!!! You the only one on you tube that CLEARLY explained this. Who cares about your camera quality Your DRAWINGS ARE ON POINT! BRAVO! THANK YOU GOOD SIR!
thanks. very clever of you. I save all my old guitar strings so I'm going to try this. I'll let you know how it comes out.
Yet again I had to make another lobster clasp spring. This is the second one I have had to mak for the same clasp. A new lobster clasp is in excess of £100 pounds absolutely massive saving for the cost of a guitar string. Massive Thanks again for this tutorial I came back to.
Loved the tutorial. The diagram you drew was very helpful. Thank you!
Ty so much for this inexpensive fix! Guitar strings... genius!

You didn't show us how to place.clasp inside. I get the diagrams but a demonstration would of been better
I’ve got the supplies to make the repairs I think just not the knowledge. I’ve made some Jewlery using fine .999 silver coins (like Liberty dimes) and sterling .925 cuff link blanks. They make a silver soldier paste that’s in this syringe that makes it so you can do the silver Jewlery soldiering without having to be an expert on using things to bond and clean a perfectly flat surface (I don’t know if you’ve ever done anything like that or want/need to.). Maybe I’ll upload some videos of me making the cuff links.
Pry the clasp apart slightly on the lever side using a small screwdriver - the central part will fall through the enlarged gap. I used a tiny safety pin so the circular wire hole is ready made. Snip the safety pin’s long sides off with one slighly longer than the other by say 5 to 7mm and replace the old damaged wire. Place the adapted new wire onto the middle of the lever part and slide back into the clasp through the enlarged gap. Pinch back together with a pliers (put sticky tape around each jaw of the pliers to avoid damaging the jewellery)
Why even take a chance like that just buy another clasp. If its a cheap chain i guess its ok.
Those 14 kgold lobster clasps are anywhere from 150 - 300$$
Simply waste of time
