I tried to use diesel to light a fire out back once and it won't light with a match. I had to look it up, I was surprised, but it won't light with a match, Here's what I found. That’s because diesel is much less flammable than gasoline. In a car, it takes intense pressure or sustained flame to ignite diesel.
