- Starting off with one of the easiest to get, It's easy because I wouldn't say it's better than his 4th weapon. You get the new 'Wind' Element but it's only added to attacks which already cause shockwaves???
Difficulty: Very Hard
Stage: Assault on the Wu Territory (Original) - Wu Forces
Requirements: Defeat Liu Yong before the cutscene of your forces splitting into to two
Location: In the north west fort (Near where you start the stage)
Tips: This is pretty much the same as Sun Ce's 4th weapon, except this time there's a time limit meaning you need to rush Liu Yong, before your forces catch up to you. and because you have to defeat Liu Yong you don't have to defeat Taishi Ci meaning all your enemy officers are generics which pose no threat to you.
Thank you for these. I did all of this 20+ years ago. But I just love to listen to the soundtrack and gameplay for nostalgia

It’s virtually tied for me. My two favorite games by far. Absolutely love 3 and XL so can’t blame you
4 is a better designed game, but 3 is fun for the challenge.
For the vanilla games yes. But 4XL is harder than 3XL imo, especially Expert vs Very Hard. The XL bodyguards in 3XL and enemy AI make it a breeze for the most part. 4XL Expert officer ai is best/hardest in the series
@MK0437 Do the archers still instant kill you in 4? I'm playing through 3 now and that's the main problem I have lmao.
In vanilla no. Overall, archers in 3 and 3XL are WAAAAY worse, especially on Very Hard. Archers are nothing in 4 vanilla, and are way more rare and don’t shoot from a whole battlefield away through walls in 4 XL Expert, however, when you are surrounded by archers, particularly in Sima Yi’s legend stage, they can tear you apart quickly. So yeah, overall that particular problem is definitely mostly unique to 3 lol
When i kill Cheng Heng only the southern gate opens and not the one to the east is that a bug?
You know, some of characters’ 5th weapons are rather uncomfortable to me and possibly worse than 4th weapons so that I don’t need to take them. For example, Cao Cao’ 4th weapon has Instant Death so it’s really useful when playing in Hard or Very Hard Mode, Besides, I also use it as a 2 Player to help 1 Player to get 4th or 5th weapons.
Second, 4th weapons of some characters have no elements but 5th have. So, taking 5th weapons must depends on 4th weapons quality

I don't have the game cd because I play on opl, I only have the Xtreme version but is it still possible to get the weapons and items?
No, this requires the original CD to play the stage.

What are you playing this game on? I own both 3 and Xtreme legends for the ps2 and it doesn’t look this good.
PC emulator. Believe me even PSP games on 4K looks very playable. Shame we had to play it on CRT TVs with 480p resolution.
More specifically the emulator is called pcsx2 and it’s rather easy to set up

@@XenoGuru but that’s how I remember in my mind. I believed everything looked 4K back then. Seeing them again at lower resolution kinda kills my memories. That’s why I support the emulators that enhances the core graphics.
