Actually, Sabah and Sarawak are not States. In 1963, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore and Malaya as sovereign nation's on their own, joined to form The Federation of Malaysia. The Kingdom of Brunei was supposed to join them but opted out at the last moment. In 1965, Singapore left the Federation to become an independent nation. By right, Malaysia should comprise of 3 entireties now. Somehow, in 1976, by a controversial Act of Parliament, Sabah and Sarawak became the 13 and 14 States of Malaysia, due to their very own Leaders agreeing to it. Despite their abundant natural resources (petroleum), they remain with poor infrastructure and high levels of poverty. Now, it is an issue raised constantly by aspiring leaders of the 2 new States to acquire politicall support for their own personal ambitions. With such pretense, the people are the ones disappointed and deceived.

On 16 September 1963, Sabah (Old name North Borneo) merged with Malaya, Sarawak, and Singapore (left in 1965) to form MALAYSIA. It's like the United Kingdom, so Sabah is not just a state, its have their own government, while there was no objection to Islam being the national religion of Malaysia, there should be no State religion in North Borneo (Sabah), and the provisions relating to Islam in the present Constitution of Malaya should not apply to North Borneo (Sabah)

Hi! The white building that you guys guessing is actually our Sabah State Legislative Assembly Building. If by chance you ever come to Sabah, I will be very happy to serve you both to Kinabatangan River , the longestt river in Sabah and also to our Oldest Tropical Rainforest in the world, Danum Valley!
Here's a bit of a history lesson for you 2 awesome men; When Malaya, Singapore, Sabah and Sarawak worked together to form Malaysia, both of these now states (excluding Singapore) were once autonomous regions but our supposed-to-be title eroded due to political tensions. Our Bornean rights aren't respected til today (probably one of the leading factors why foreigners know Peninsular Malaysia more than Borneo Malaysia). But hey, thank you for reacting to my homeland! Do visit Sabah (especially KK, Ranau and Sandakan) if COVID-19 ends!! You're the best!
What you guys didn't see are the really happening parties of weddings and the annual Harvest Festival among the indigenous Sabahans! I tell you, its equivalent to Rio or Ibiza. Sabahans know to party, and there's free flow of rice wine and beer. And one sound that is unique in Sabah, is the Gong at parties. Come to Sabah if you are a real party lover.
The place that u guys want to know the white building is a Sabah State Assembly Hall. Can see on the video the time frame starting 10:30second. Love my country .Sabah is a state.
Semporna where we could meet the Bajau Laut people - They live on water and have capability to dive and stay underwater longer than other human being. - they have bigger lung!
Sabah is not a state actually, you can look it up through the MA63 agreements which officiated from the British government. All got twisted up by the Malaya government (West Malaysia) since Independence of Malaysia, because of what they want from Sabah. AND..... You're welcome to visit our nation anytime!! 🙂
MA63 was only about how Malaysia was formed. What has more authority regarding the status of Sabah in Malaysia is Sabah Constitution. And also what UN said when the formation of Malaysia was recognized by the UN. It was stated in the UN Secretary General report on Malaysia Mission.
The Lepa Lepa is an annual event in Semporna showcasing the Bajau people traditional attire, their colourful sail boats etc! But because of covid and movement restrictions, sadly we didn't have this event.
There 13 states in malaysia, and yupp sabah and sarawak is a state of their own, esp sarawak has their own authoritative power for the state govt, hope after covid is settled ,you guys definitely should come here❤️
Hi I am Sabahan. The place i always keep my heart. I miss my home town so much because i been out of Sabah for quite long. But for sure i will be back. Sabah was a state in Malaysia but now Sabah is a territory not a state anymore since 8 April 2021. Thanks for making this video. Proud to be Sabahan.
I'm really touch when foreigner still recognize Sabah as Borneo or North Borneo. And I have a dream that one day Sabah will be known as richerst with echonomic and development in Malaysia.
10:32 That is our State Assembly Building.. In Malaysia, each states have their own state goverment which is different from the federal goverment of Malaysia.. Hence, Federation of Malaysia is similar to United States of America.. Same goes to our flags is similar🤩
Sabah is a state of Malaysia in the island of Borneo, where 3 countries share an island (Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia). Hence, Sabah, the Malaysian Borneo.
It's so nice to watch a reaction from people outside of Asia to my hometown Sabah. I love Sabah and I am a proud Sabahan. Thank you for appreciating Sabah!

Hi guys, Sabah is a state of Malaysia. If you get the chance, check out the orangutan centre and then go next door to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. The Sun bears are like real life teddy bears and rely on tourism to help them survive...and they are ridiculously adorable!!!!
Hey... Long2 time ago... Borneo have great dark story... Like the viking... They call land of pirates... That why long time ago, people call borneo land, HEAD HUNTER LAND... Borneo have more and more amazing story... 👍 👍 👍

I'm from Sabah and you should definitely come here. Not to be biased, but I've seen and heard foreigners gave positive comments about their trip here. We're really friendly to everyone and each other. Our lands are rich with flora and fauna (as you can see from the video) and we have many kinds of seafood here too like lobsters and crabs XD. Also, "the weird-looking mushroom" is a flower called Rafflesia. XD
When the pandemic is over, you're welcome to Sabah! I promise you, you will want to come again! It's more lushier now that tourism is less active, which means there will be more to see and experience! I live here but I never had enough of the wonder of nature! Come to Sabah one day, it will worth it. 😉

Fun fact: Survivor the Series was filmed in Sabah's Pulau Tiga

On 16 September 1963, Sabah (Old name North Borneo) merged with Malaya, Sarawak, and Singapore (left in 1965) to form MALAYSIA. It's like the United Kingdom, so Sabah is not just a state, its have their own government, while there was no objection to Islam being the national religion of Malaysia, there should be no State religion in North Borneo (Sabah), and the provisions relating to Islam in the present Constitution of Malaya should not apply to North Borneo (Sabah)
Agreed, same goes to my state Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo.

Watching this video,It really takes me to the next level.Sabah is the extraordinary place that I can’t even imagine and it’s beyond everyone’s expectation. The utmost part is the culture diversity, very welcoming and hospitable people. I couldn’t get enough living in sabah and I’m forever be grateful.#marriedtosabahan🧡😇
Here's a bit of a history lesson for you 2 awesome men;
When Malaya, Singapore, Sabah and Sarawak worked together to form Malaysia, both of these now states (excluding Singapore) were once autonomous regions but our supposed-to-be title eroded due to political tensions.

XD
Many thanks. You both should come for a visit. Sabahan would love to have you guys here in the land below the wind xxx

Lol, Malaysia paying 67 million ringits to Philipines every year
When the pandemic is over, you're welcome to Sabah! I promise you, you will want to come again! It's more lushier now that tourism is less active, which means there will be more to see and experience! I live here but I never had enough of the wonder of nature! Come to Sabah one day, it will worth it. 😉
adding some info..at 3.30 its not a mushroom its a Rafflesia is a genus of parasitic flowering plants in the family Rafflesiaceae
Odd-looking mushrooms? No gentlemen, they're the world's biggest flowers, found mostly, but not limited to Sabah. It's the Rafflesia...you can google it for more info.
