I still find it crazy that I see nobody mention his Knight dialogue in his shop. It seemed like he was gonna spoil the story so he gets like physically stopped by something and starts repeatedly apologizing for it as he starts glitching. Cuts right back to being a psycho to cover it up I guess but it freaked me out

I almost think it’s the reverse. Right when we first meet him, we see a poster of “Big Shot Auto” and I can’t help but feel “ride around town” (which is even quoted in the poster), “body” which in terms of a machine is also what it used to refer to the frame of a car, the Cungadero, everything in that regard is a reference to the auto lot he once ran / advertised for, as opposed to foreshadowing.
@@ChestersonJack it's deliberately made to be ambiguous. But he's clearly referring to what he wants to get out of the basement, so it definitely is foreshadowing
plus, he *did* say it was a deal so good you would die!
He also mentions surpassing "THAT DAMN [[clown around town]]" which is likely a reference to Jevil. He wants to surpass the other super boss
And he says specil kungadero indicating the name of the cars are specil kungaderos
so he brings up the knight, apologizes profusely, and immediately switches the topic? that seems important
his whole schtick is being a puppet, the one controlling him certainly doesnt like spamton's knowledge of the knight
Fun Fact: In Queen's Mansion, if you avoid breaking all of the vases, you will enter a mini game where you have to balance a vase on your head until the finish line. If you complete this successfully without breaking the vase, you will be congratulated. Then Susie will playfully punch you, thus knocking the vase over.

Fact: If you go to the room where there are service tables(where you fight maus in queen's mansion)when you interact With them they will turn into ufos and the last service table turn into a chest instead of ufo and gives glowshard whose value increases every chapter

I even played it again to get the original Starwalker in Chapter 2 as an companion/Item, to get Jevils stuff and find the egg. I hope, I didnt miss anything again for the future chapters.
Yep, I think Toby will hide a glowshard, egg, and of course a shadow crystal in ever chapter. Along with other misc hidden things that'll eventually be found by the players. I currently have 3 saves and I've replayed my second pacifist one the most since I keep missing crap, I think I got everything I possibly can now. I even made sure to wait for Onionsan in both.

Between Spamton telling us not the trust what we see (Mike?) on TV, and we see the TV screen at the end of the game smile, I think it's safe to assume the next chapter will be TV themed.
Finally, Susie can be Susiezilla like she always dreamed to be.
The smile on the TV seems evocative of Photoshop Flowey from Undertale.
Is the flower Asgore tried giving to Toriel still in the garbage? Is it in range of the third Fountain?

I've been thinking maybe the player is the angel and heaven is just the people watching past the screen.
By heaven he means the Light World. Spamton seems to strangely be aware of it, and is also the only character in DELTARUNE so far that has acknowledged the human SOUL, alongside the power held within it. Spamton only wants freedom (he is literally modelled after a puppet) and that search for freedom eventually drove him crazy, and further down the line, obsessed with escaping the Dark World
im thinking noelle might be the angel this time, on the snowgrave route both the npcs you can get ring upgrade from the addison and spamton call her angel, then theres her outfit itelf which looks pretty angelic, inside the hos[ital theres her angel doll which the game points out has no wings and that asriel spent too much focus on his for a similar doll, another nod to asriels wings is on his computer, so i think its trying to say noelle is a wingless angel
I also think it’s to contrast Jevil’s devil theming

An interesting thought, there's a recurring theme of "Freedom" and "Control/Lack-thereof" in both chapters. I'll try and list all of the references to these themes I can think of, but I'll almost definitely have missed some.
Ch 1)
First, there's the fact that you can't control what you look like or what your name is. Normally this isn't a big deal, but the game draws attention to this.
Second, when Susie threatens you and says you're going to do the project, regardless of the choice you make she'll say your choices don't matter. Then we get to the Dark World. The themes are put to the side for a bit, but when we get to Jevil, he talks about how he's free and how everyone else is trapped. Similarly, we learn that King Spade has trapped the other kings in an animal cage. And then finally, Kris tears out his soul and throws it into a cage, "freeing" Kris from your "control", and trapping you.
Ch 2)
If you go into the basement of Ralsei's castle, you'll see the kings trapped in the animal cage still, but also King Spade is now trapped in a hamster cage. Soon later, when we get to the Cyber World, we learn that Queen has basically taken everyone's freedom away. It's a recurring gag that she only has 4 cages left, and that she keeps trying to capture Kris, Susie, and Noelle. Then we get to Spamton. Once you beat him, you can talk to him in his shop, and you'll see him try to break out of his coding, only to immediately go back to his advertising spambot "self". Later, if you fight Spamton Neo during the pacifist run, he'll comment on how he's still trapped, and even mention how Kris is just like him. Eventually he's "freed", but as a result he dies. When Susie asks Kris is okay, both answers seem to imply Kris is trying to break free of your control. They either give a strained "yes", or scream, depending on your answer. And finally, when you try to wash your hands, Kris tears out the soul, traps it in a cabinet, and jumps out of the window. Presumably they then slash Toriel's tires, but considering how Ch 1 had a fake out, this might not be the case. Either way, they do this again when Toriel and Susie are asleep.
I'm almost certain that this theme of Freedom and Control is going to be a thing throughout all chapters, especially with the secret bosses. I think the overall message is going to be that too much control can drive you mad (like Jevil), but at the same time too much freedom can be just as bad (like Spamton). But hey, that's just a theory. A GAME THEORY
What unsettles me is the fact that This means Spamton couldn't live without his strings, however for Kris.... Does that mean he can't live without our control? Yeah he's taken out his soul at least 3 times but he/she walks likes a fucking zombie without it
Also after cutting Spamton Neo's strings, you see how he drops all his speech tics, much like the white noise-glassed version of him, meaning he might actually be sane, just puppeteered/coded to have crazy tics and act crazy in general, much like how Kris does not actually have a habit of eating moss, he just appears that way because he was controlled by us to eat the moss but if left free would obviously instead act normal. Also isn't the overall message in reverse? I think Jevil got mad because he was given too much freedom while Spamton got "coded" or controlled into his spambot self.
@@NotSomeJustinWithoutAMoustache thing is, Jevil's freedom is his delusion. We know that he's imprisoned, but his imprisonments has driven him mad to the point where he believes he's free. It's unclear how deluded he was prior to his imprisonment, since Seam says that Jevil was crazy before he was imprisoned, but he isn't actually free, he just believes himself to be.
I think Kris slashes the tires so Suzie can't get home and has to stay with them
Something else I hadn't considered when writing this: in chapter 1 you're given virtually no choice. The chapter has the exact same ending regardless of what you do, while in chapter 2 we get multiple routes, and your decisions have much more of an impact

1:56 "Clown around town" Given that the stuff in brackets is like a censored version of what he's trying to say, (stuff like hyperlink blocked), I think we can assume he was trying to directly say Jevil. Even more so since the shop music is a remix of part of Jevil's theme. Also, both have themes of freedom or becoming free, with Jevil saying that he's the only free one by being locked in a cage, and with Spamton NEO wanting to become free of the strings, only to die because of it (and with what I believe to be something else related to freedom with the player and Kris, and how Kris is trying to break free by ripping out the soul.) All of these connections somehow manage to make me even more excited for Chapter 3-5, now that I know that Jevil's theme of freedom wasn't a one-off thing and that this will be a recurring theme. I think that "Freedom" will be Deltarune's "Determination," and the fact that this is shrouded behind optional and difficult bossfights (at least compared to the rest of the game) makes this even more intriguing.
P.S. Something that I forgot to mention was that, throughout the whole game, you are somewhat constantly reminded that your choices don't actually matter, a harsh difference between this game and Undertale, where every encounter matters. This can be seen through how killing and sparing enemies in chapter 1 has the same effect (both give no xp, as the enemies run away), and the times when Susie interrupts you during a dialogue prompt. There are a few more that I can't really think of right now though.

I love this series, too. It's one of my favorites, period. I get that you all think Toby is a Hypergenius God of Game Design but if you're going to be literally hacking the game to remove/edit entities and values, then expect the game to pick up on exactly what you did and not just default to a debug menu because you "broke" something is frankly expecting WAY too much from the guy. He's a genius, sure. Not psychic.
I don't think anything was "hacked" they just gave up on the Snowgrave route after getting the thorn ring from Spamton
It's just that other games don't really care about these unusual interactions, but Toby's does, so it's expected to people to explore every single interaction due to that, I mean, it's fun so why not? I don't think people get upset when something ends up doing nothing, because there's so many other interactions that compensate for that

Community had thoughts if this might be the "Mike" that Spamton's talking about.
An obvious but interesting fact is how Spamton seems to referencing the "HEAVEN" a lot. His NEO form that looks like an angel and the whole gimmick of "puppet in a string" being controlled from above gave him a subtle but mind-provoking theme that he might rebel against the one that ruled the whole story. Not the King or the Queen but something else. Even worse, his dialogue of surpassing the "clown" seems to refer to Jevil and the fact that Jevil referencing the devil being sealed away makes this even more intriguing. The best part is that his post-fight in normal route of NEO say that in the end, he's nothing but a puppet, but Kris, Sussie and Ralsei are strong, and might be able to break their strings. This imply that the true antagonist is either a godly being or some sort of "creator" entity such as Gaster. The fact that Spamton speak normally without any glitches or crazy nonsense after the final boss fight imply that he NEVER was insane or broken. He simply pretend to be a lunatic because, whatever put him down there in the dump, is something powerful enough to make him so scared, that he apologized immediately and then start acting like a psycho again, just to cover it up. I start to feel that his theme is meant to be a "fallen angel" and the fact that he does refers to the "HEAVEN" so much while making meta jokes basically confirm that he is against some sort of god. Either that is Gaster, or Toby himself... Or something else.

I think that the G is spamton G spamton means gold. The dude was heavily based off of greed, therefore I wouldn’t be surprised if Toby said it was “spamton gold spamton” furthermore in the NEO fight you use yellow bullets to defend yourself (yellow is almost gold)
You know, Spamton's dialogue got me thinking... what if he's being "controlled" BEFORE even transforming into Spamton NEO? The small segment with Mike and "... can anyone hear me? Help..." really makes it sound as if Spamton was doing everything he's done in the game because someone else is MAKING him do it, as if.. someone was controlling him the same way we're controlling Kris
If anything else, it sounds like [Mike] was the guy who had done to him.
From his dialogs, "Don't trust anything on TV", "That man is criminal" and him being angry on "game host" in another route, I would guess Mike is very charming game host liar who tricked him into this stage.
The next world would be theme of liar, tricking and some kind of set ups theme that you can't make different from real or fake, Something like that I guess.
I would have no wonder if he have some kind of power as well.

She basically laughs at you and drops the key to the prisoner cell behind her, releasing all the prisoners

I bet since Toriel called the police at the end of chapter 2 and fell asleep waiting for them to arrive, and then Kris cracked open the door before making the fountain, Undyne is going to discover the portal and get trapped in the dark world with our other heroes

Yep, and Jevil the secret boss in ch 1 was aware of and the only one to mention Queen, the final boss of ch 2. Now Spamton knows Mike and is the only one to mention him by name.

There is a secret area in the basement of queen's mansion that requires the keygen to open, inside there is an empty disk which you can give to spamton and he gives something in return, once you take that something from spamton back to where you found the empty disk, there will be a secret boss fight. As for Mike's identity? Noone really knows

When I first entered Spamton's shop after reading about a bizzare rumor on the net, It kind of felt unreal. It was kind of like having a creepypasta in the actual game and it was so different from anything else I've experienced that it therew me completely off balance. After that i really needed a couple minutes to contrmplate what just happened.

If you beat spamton (not neo) with violence on a normal route (not snowgrave) he will say the exact same thing but will not say "AT LEAST BUY [2]"
In the pasafist fight if you beat him up he has the same text…

I feel like everything slowing down after he says "commemorative" ring is meant to like, fake out the player. Like you just went on a death spree over a joke ring. Granted the ring does work and allows us to murder hobo effectively, the way he delivers it makes it feel entirely on us even more than otherwise.

Huh, I only just noticed how his eyes turn in static noise when mentioning Mike, and then we see that smile on TV at the end with static noise... However it might not be really related since ending is "on the nose" as a main plot and Spamton i supposed to be a sort of hidden side-story

This might be obvious, but when Spamton is about to say something “bad” (ie jyper link blocked, about the knight, “help can anyone hear me”) the phone rings as if to stop him. Or that’s just coincidental from the video alone
oh yeah this might just be coincidental, i checked myself on my playthrough of the game and the phone is actually timed with the music
I thought he had more dialogue when you talked to him in the shop after buying keygen? Is that any different post abandoned snowgrave??

This is more of a subtle thing, but Spamton's shop sprites are posed similarly to a few of burgerpants' shop sprites from Undertale, obviously has no narrative relevance but still, neat little tie-in.

What if you cheat yourself a ring? If it counts as bought, then how about cheating 2? If it doesn't count, the how about doing snowgrave path without buying a ring from spamton (does he have any dialogue for no ring bought)
I'm currently playing through a hacked run that SHOULD let me fight spamton neo twice.
Edit: Finished the run. it was 2 of the snowgrave route versions, but one was in the basement tunnels. Needed to call Noelle to handle both of them.
For the one in the tunnels, after noelle finished snowgrave, it kinda cut to the normal place you find spamton hanging from the walls after fighting him there.
This clearly wasn't an intended route and was just a fun bit of save editing to see what would happen.

Not related to Spamton, but I had a general question that maybe you know the answer to since you have played Chapter 2 so much. If you unlock the unlimited Spin Cakes from Top Chef in Chapter 1 will he still give you some in Chapter 2? I have tried looking this up everywhere but can't seem to find any answers about it, if someone reads this and can help I would really appreciate it!
He does give you more cake in chapter 2.
Sadly my save data for chapter 1 got erased a while back when I factory reset my pc, so I wouldn't know.

Can you go back to the ferris wheel ad? The only place with the ad I know is the one with the ambyu-lance going around it.
