In October 2007 I bought a 2008 Jeep Liberty with a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty and also purchased a Lifetime Added Care plus Service Contract. Dealer told me I would need tom have an inspection done at the 5 year point to keep my warranty in effect. Nothing was included in writing about the inspection or the frequency of the inspections. I had the inspection done at the 5 year point. I had the vehicle serviced at the dealer a few times during those years for things I didn't take care of myself. I followed every maintenance requirement listed in the warranty manual. In 2020 Chrysler cancelled my warranty and the Added Care Service Contract I purchased because I didn't have an inspection in 2017 even though I had the vehicle at the dealership in 2017. Fought with them for 3 years. Even the Attorney General in my State stated they defrauded me. Chrysler's response was "If you don't like it, you can take us to court". DON'T BUY ANY CHRYSLER PRODUCT WARRANTY OR SERVICE CONTRACT!
I researched it but Chrysler isn't disclose the conditions anywhere at the time. They didn't include it in the Warranty Manuals until 2009 vehicles came out. The Jeep has been the most dependable vehicle I've had. I've had it now for 16 years and have driven it 203K Miles with no big failures so I really can't complain about the Jeep itself. Still looks and runs like new.@@lincolnmarklt
I used to work for a used car dealership during the lockdowns. However, the owner was honest (yes, I was there during the process) and he wanted to simply unload the cars and offered a ridiculous 30 day return policy which is unheard of. 95% of used car stealerships wont do that but he did. In addition there were abusive customers who would intentionally use this loophole to change or damage the cars. Customer and dealer BOTH have faults and it's not a one way street. Customers are scumbags too.
Not absolutely true! My family is very honest and we have been in the biz since 1964. Time magazine did a cover story about Milton Martin Toyota. God has always been the head of our enterprise and will always be the inspiration.

Yeah, you're spot on. I just bounced out of Ram Dealership in South Houston, and man, the stories they were telling were wild. Straight-up lies, shady stuff, throwing in fake discounts on a demo car. Got the vibe they're not really into building a solid relationship with customers anymore,.....

This country is royally fucked unless the real teflon don gets in the whitehouse social club
In Toronto Canada most if not all dealers are the same . I may go to the U.S to get a deal and pay the tax to bring it back to Canada. I don't think these dealerships deserve my business.
As a 5th generation UAW Chrysler employee retiree. The only resolution to resolve this entire situation is to force all of these automobile manufacturers to restructure their entire spectrum on pricing. They have completely went off the rail and the only pathway to regain their success in sales is to lower the MSRPs. If the people refuse to pay the price the manufacturers will reduce the price. My Great Great Grandfather had said, if the people are stupid enough to continue to pay the price will continue to rise. It's that simple.
"Everything is worth what it's purchaser will pay for it." ~ Publius Syrus So long as people continue paying stupid prices for new cars, things will never get better.
I think it’s astonishing how quickly and thoroughly the dealers were willing to burn any brand loyalty of their customers to the ground, all for just a couple years of extra profits.
Well look at the manufacturers. Companies like Ford aren’t even interested in getting younger buyers and keeping them in the brand as they age. No surprise to me dealers developed this mentality
@@michaelchevreaux7780 Doesn't buying privately entail just as much if not more of a gamble and complications? Maybe not by a lot, but still a more elevated risk, and more work.
I'll second everything you said. I wanted to buy a 2023 Challenger Hellcat Widebody. The honest dealer I wanted to buy from, who would sell at MSRP, didn't have enough allocations; he used the few he had to cover 2022 orders that didn't happen. My local Autonation dealer wanted $25K ADM for the same car. I said No Way. They even wanted to charge me $5K ADM for my 300C. If you are familiar with how that car ordering works, you know that makes zero sense, as I selected the dealer to order thru, and it was not part of their allocation. I ended up going 2,000 miles away to the honest dealer (Who didn't have the Challenger allocation) to get my 300C. I'm done with Stellantis and the games they encourage.
Mary Barra said, when she was idling the Silverado assembly in march of last year, that she had to support prices to help pay for all the capital expenditure for the Ultium development.
That is not the only reason, they car dealers have raised prices by a lot, to make a bigger profit. It's called greed, they do not want to make $20k or $30k cars and trucks any more, they want to sell everyone $70k and $80k cars and trucks with all the options, because they make the most profit on those models. Yes, part of the increases are to spend the money on EV cars, etc. but most of the increase is just greed from the car companies.
I was thinking about getting a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Sport S at a $6500 discount off MSRP but the CDJR brand has me totally disgusted. This video confirmed I made the right decision to pass on this purchase.
Save your money and buy the last gen with the 4.0 inline 6 I have both and the v6 is on its second build at 110k miles the inline is still running with 236k miles with no major engine issues and it's so simple and easy to work on compared to my JK
Agreed! Bc they know that it’s not worth it. Insurance companies have raised their rates on certain models,( scats, hellcats ect..) in certain if not most states as well.
This leads to what’s going on now. Dealerships full of inventory “with major markups”! It is not just dodge, it is all dealerships. Now since they’re selling much fewer cars, they are smacking stupid high addendums so they can make money on a car. This has become a battle between the manufacturers/the dealers/the customers. At the same time, manufacturers are requiring these dealerships to build new mega luxury showrooms to keep their franchises. It’s a total mess and it is not going to end well. It’s just a matter of time. I just went to a dealership in Tampa Florida yesterday that has a $1295 dealer fee/$2500 addendum add one for nitro tires/blinking brake light/some other stupid thing and on top of that they charge $375 for titling fee which explains there are profits to the dealership within that money as well as it only costs about $80 to do the titling! Then they offer me $70,000 trade on a vehicle that books out $89,000!!! This whole thing is nonsense. They are still trying to feed on the weak!!!! All dealerships are out of control, and will pay the price at some point
Actually ford is offering several deals at 0% on 2023 coyote V8 A10 GT premium, that car and a readily available tune is low 11s needs nothing but the tune to run e85... Tune, stall and basic suspension is 10s You can purchase it with the whipple included at 0% makijt it 9s and still be under scat price

Hello Mr Motivator, I agree completely with your assessment. My Dad and family owned a Plymouth dealer when I was a kid. They had a Superbird sit on the lot around one year. It had a high price from the manufacturer. The rest of the models continued to sell. Now for all the reasons you mentioned Stellantis and the Dealers have created a much worse situation for themselves. Two biggest offenders IMHO are Stellantis trying to dictate what people want to buy. And Dealers screwing over the buyers. In my past I bought a 06 Charger R/T, 12 Challenger R/T, 2018 Challenger Scat Pack. Did I mention I owned and personally restored a 69 Charger R/T? I went to SEMA Nov 2022 and my heart was broken. Last call-sheesh. Having seen the prices put me out since then. A year ago I went for a used Magnum. Cost 5k. Not even a decent down payment for the new good cars. Also Dodge putting the v-6 in chargers and Challengers and forcing them on the dealers was not smart (I believe they wanted to deplete their stock of V6’s before the discontinuation). Another bad move. Hard to believe the business majors running Stellantis figured the whole forcing EV’s on Dodge consumers would make the Hemi Buyers want them. (Tin foil hat time) -Almost as if the Europeans running Stellantis hated seeing the Hellcat Chargers and Challengers blasting past European cars on the Nurburing track in Germany. So they bought Dodge for the Ram trucks and don’t care if they destroy the iconic American muscle car. Remember the big money families in Europe that own everything there. Money to burn…
All Superbirds were a hard sale back in the day...Dealers couldnt sell them because they were very odd looking cars and difficult to park too.. the wing & nose cones were a deal breaker..
after a visit to my local CDJR dealer 3 weeks ago I walked out and said Never Again yesterday I paid a visit to a Japanese car dealer for the FIRST time in my 52 years as a car customer
I ride a Honda motorcycle, people come up to me (strangers) and tell me I should buy a harley. My response is sure tell me why? No1 answer is its a harley. My response is that is not good enough
I've been looking at the new 2024 Santa Fe for my wife, sharp looking SUV for less than 40K. Also Toyota has some good SUVs. Dodge is over priced and the Hornet is just a rebadged Alfa.
Brad, I think this type of video is very much needed and you do it so well. Please keep it up, so many Dodge fans want to see and learn from your unique perspective. This kind of information is very important for Stellantis/Dodge to see in order to make meaningful change.
Excellent video. People are just refusing to purchase overpriced cars. My local Dodge dealership has 45 new Scat Packs and Hellcats on their lot (57 in total if you include the used cars). They all have $2k discounts but they are not moving.
Those discounts are not discounts they are seriously out of their leagues. These vehicles are 15~25 k over priced that needs to drop to what they are really worth specifically used junk.
Well, I have been a loyal Dodge/Ram customer for nearly 30 years. I currently own a 2016 Ram, 2021 HCWB and 2022 Jeep Compass. I told my dealer prior to the Demon 170 being released that I wanted one…was basically told no. Called 10 dealers when they announced the Demon and they all wanted around $100 k over asking which I am not willing to pay. Even now, two dealers have Demon 170’s on their showroom floor, one will not sell it (I suspect he is trying to make it part of a bigger deal) and the other wants $281k. I am in the market for a new truck and am moving from Dodge/Ram.
281k for a dodge?? Just wow. Better to take the 281k and buy a MB SL63, and drive it after you take a trip around the world for a year while spending the extra 100k you have left over. It is more enjoyable than any Dodge that has or will ever be built.
@@tonyfriend7413 Dodge, Chrysler, Ram, Jeep, etc are now just Fiats with American looking bodywork... LOL! If you want American your only choices are GM or Ford!
Well said. When the lease terms ended a couple months ago on my parents Charger RT and Ram they felt so disrespected when trying to negotiate replacements that they just bought out the leases. Needless to say after numerous Mopars spanning decades, they are finally considering Toyota. Also all of our local mom and pop dealers have been bought out by large dealership groups. They really don't seem to care about previous loyal customers/community.
It's 😢sad to see this happen I myself love dodge. I had 2 Chagers one 100 yr anniversary edition. One sact pack charger. And one challenger scat pack all beautiful cars . I wanted so bad to buy a new one but I just couldn't get what I wanted for the price dealers were asking even used the price for them was insane . So I jumped ship and got an Acura tlx with all the trimming I'm happy and stress free , no crazy insurance prices, not to worry about it being stolen , no BS from the dealers . Brad your video are awesome God has definitely Bless you and your family !!! You don't call yourself OCM for nothing. Thanks brother 🙏
Thank you for this. Your video validates everything single thing I've felt and have wanted to say, but I lack the ability to articulate it as perfectly as you just did
I just bought a 2021 scat pack manual trans. 12k miles for 37k plus tax…Like new vehicle, shout out to Desert 215 Las Vegas! Give Tim and Arial a call they will hook you up new or used. I’m over the moon with my purchase Thanks OC for holding it down with the info. I’m glad I waited!!
And it's not only Ram/ Dodge. I have a 2017 Ram 3500 dually Limited with 50k miles and excellent condition that I thought about trading before the 7 yr warranty expired, but I am keeping it a few more years due to the dealers robbing people. I have been needing to trade my Tahoe Premier for business reasons, after seeing how Chevy dealers have been ripping people off the past few years, I have just been taking the tax hit and currently have no plans on replacing the Tahoe until something changes. Boat market, I had a 2020 24' bay boat that I paid $72k out the door. In 2021 it was totaled after a tornado went over us and put 2 trees on the boat. The exact same boat was then $140k. Luckily after a lot of research I found a good dealer 4 states away with the same bay boat but different color, got that boat for $86k. The dealers were having a great time ripping people off during covid, I was hoping the consumers would return the favor in the future!
I bought a Dart 340 in 1969 and the dealer was so awful that I decided to never buy a Chrysler product ever again. And now 55 years later I never have. And I never will.
In 76 I bought a used 1967 Impala. It was extremely simple and dependable, and I paid $600. Simple, dependable, affordable cars and trucks just aren't being made anymore.
I was thinking the same, but I supsect they'll let their inventory get caught up in bankruptcy court before selling them at prices similar to pre-pandemic...but I'm here waiting and watching the RAM 2500, which is sadly, still cheaper than the competitors
I just spent a week going back and forth with a Southern California Jeep dealer and finally agreed on a price on a 2023 Jeep. We asked for a purchase agreement with an upgrade we had requested. We were supposed to pick up the car tomorrow and it is a 500 mile trip to pick up the car. Then yesterday we get a revised price increasing the price by over $2000 and when we question what are you doing. The answer was the incentives changed and thus the price went up.They gave us no indication previously that this could happen. What a waist of my time!
100% correct and Dodge gets everything they deserve for treating their customers like garbage for their own greed.. Can’t wait to watch them go into the toilet …
My last two new vehicles I bought from Dodge they screwed me over on warranty. No way I’ll ever step into another stealership. I bought my last Challenger used with 18000 miles on it, from an individual. No dealer BS.
My experience too. Not only did they refuse to honour the 6 year extended warranty for the faulty uConnect screen on my Challenger (my fourth mopar) but they falsely insinuated it may be due to me doing unspecified 'mods' on it. When I complained to Dodge all I got was "The dealer says ...." A company which cheats and lies to its customers does not deserve to survive.
Oh and to add to it all: if I was to ever be so inclined to purchase from a dealer I would only do so with a huge cost reduction and no warranty. Why should I pay for something that they aren’t going to stand behind anyway. Once again: Buy a low mileage well taken care of car and buy a good aftermarket warranty and be happy.
This happened to my Dad on a Chrysler LeBaron when the catalytic converter failed after a year. He and I will never buy a Chrysler product again. Thieves!
Us Dodge Challenger customers can only hope that Dodge will keep its promise to stop production of the Challenger. With the depreciation we have taken on these vehicles, the last of the Challengers may turn out to be the future classics we can sell to the generation coming up that doesn’t want electric cars.
You forgot one thing. Banks are no longer giving out loans on autos above msrp. Even more not above their market evaluation. Quite a few banks are no longer doing auto loans due to the high rate of repossessions and the cost of increasing insurance rates. This is the problem across the board with all manufacturers. Great video.
Dealers deserve to be put out of business after this. Everyone knows their margins on new cars were already thin - they make their money on service, trade-ins, and used cars. What they should have been doing is cutting costs & getting rid of redundant sales staff/managers...
I've owned seven Jeeps, two dodge trucks, and several old dodge muscle cars, and after the treatment, markups, and lies that they pulled at every single AZ dealership that i went to to buy a new Gladiator, I can say beyond any doubt or exaggeration, that I will not but another Mopar vehicle ever again. After the last Dealership gave me the run around and tried to fleece me for a $25,000 markup due to "high demand", I went down the street and bought a Toyota Tacoma for under MSRP. But, it's not just the Mopar camp trying to screw the buyers, Ford, Chevy, and Now Toyota, and Nissan are trying to play the game and fleece the unsuspecting buyers... Vehicles will continue to stockpile on their lots until the lesson gets through their thick sculls, The majority of the people know what a vehicle should sell for and we are not going to pay their premiums, period.
A month ago my wife and I stopped at a local Jeep Dealer to look at a Gladiator Mojave.of which they had several. Four salesmen sat on the stoop and one got up and approached us as we looked over one. We asked him to get a key so we could look it in but for some reason we couldn’t have access to that one. So we ask if had one that we could inspect and his demeanor was it would be an inconvenience to do so. So we got back into our vehicle and proceeded up the street where a Ford dealership happened to have a 2023 Mojave on the lot with low miles which we purchased. It seems that Stellantis attitude toward the brand is reaching all the way to the sales staff. I hope someone who wants to save the brands buys the Chrysler group soon!
Hey Brad The good prices on our beloved toys skyrocketed when Stelantis bought it all. Between fast rising MSRP’s over the last 3 years and dealer reindeer games, I’m out. Maybe it’s time for a Corvette.
GM was just as willing to screw you over as Stellantis. I bought a C8 and it took from 2019 to 2023 to get one I was willing to pay for. The markup on a C8 Stingray was 25k, 50k for a Z06. They’re all scumbags.
I appreciate your honest review. Influenced me subscribe to your channel. I know this is true because I experienced it first hand. I had a deal that I agreed to and the dealership tacked on thousands in extras and lied to me saying it was included in the price we had agreed on. They made me come back to sign a financing contract which they made up and tried to have me illegally sign something with falsified information. He also charged me $500 for wheel locks when the scat pack plus package that I bought included the wheel locks in the package I bought. It was ridiculous. I confronted the finance guy about this and he told me “oh that’s because you have some in your trunk and another set installed on the vehicle, so you get two sets.” I said “I’ve been driving this car for two weeks there’s nothing in the trunk.” Then he says “oh well I don’t know I’m just saying.” Honestly such a horrific experience I can honestly say I will never consider buying another vehicle produced by any company associated with Stellantis.
My neighbor bought a 2022 KIA Telluride for $15,000.00 over MSRP plus some ridiculous add-ons. Then, they bought a KIA EV6, 10K over MSRP plus add-ons, only because they had to have both vehicles. I bought a new 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit (Hemi), very few Hemi's were available and 2023 is the last year for the Hemi, most are 4xe. I paid 10% off MSRP, no add-ons. Now, my neighbor wants a Jeep Grand Cherokee but is upside down on both his KIAs. I have no complaints about the CDJR dealership I bought from and I would buy from them again.
A lot these people complaining simply can’t afford them then complain about the dealership “raising prices” examples scat pack and hellcats. Scat packs were 37k and hellcats 60k people didn’t rush out to buy them now that they are 60k and 100k they want to purchase but didn’t have the original price 10 years ago when they came out 🤦♂️
AWESOME video and you're totally right. After a LOYAL dodge customer for 45 years I went to buy a Challenger and almost GOUGED with huge markup. I walked away and vowed not to EVER NEVER buy a Dodge vehicle again.Goodbye and you lost a customer for life as well
Well, you're absolutely correct that dealers/salesman don't seem to care about custormer service anymore, that's for sure. But when your average car payment is $500 OR MORE for a new car people just don't have the money. And forget about buying a $90-$100k truck or performance car unless you can swing a $1000 car payment. Also, the lenders have tightened up requirements for giving out loans and you can see how bad things are getting, and trust me, it will get MUCH worse.
I remember Survivor more than 10 years ago, and it was the one of the "prizes" if they win challenge. The guy had to control himself from laughing on-camera and had to be polite in accepting that horror on 4 wheels.
I have two older Chryslers. The local dealer is such an abominable experience for repairs that in this small town I have no option, so I've learned to do big stuff myself if possible, like brakes, shocks, engine computer diagnosis, etc.
I bought a 2020 Charger R/T Daytona fully loaded in 2020 for $46K CDN. Now the same car is over $60K CDN. $15-20K change in 3 years but no changes to the car.
I was going to buy a Challenger Scat Pack yesterday, but they simply wanted too much money, so I bought a 2024 Ford Mustang GT instead, and I’m very glad I did.
OCM your on point as always. But I add. I think Stellantis is trying to kill Dodge off slowly. But 2024 - 25 will be lean years for them in profit. Because of you, Tk, Da butta, and the information you all have been putting out there that has helped many in the Dodge Mopar community. What you that i have a 2018 demon....iam looking at dropping the 170 crate engine in it. i am not feeling the Demon 170 beautiful car i rode in and drove a friend's 170 it's more powerful but i wasn't feeling it especially the narrow body front end ..congratulations on your new home continue to be a source of info and motivate stay continously blessed.
The SRT 392 Charger was my first Mopar product and I loved it. As many Mopar owners, I figured I would one day trade up to a Hellcat, but that day never came due to the ridiculous markups. I look at Hellcats these days, and although the drive would be great not much has changed over the past 10 years. There are other cars at a fair price out there. Of course IMO. Thanks OCM!!!!
We had been Dodge/Chrysler customers since 1999. Owned 7 different vehicles since 99. We had a 2011 Dodge Durango at 100k the motor developed a vibration. Took it to several dealers. The last dealer said look the vehicle has a 100k miles on it, you have to expect it will have vibration. I called corporate, I was told we stand behind our dealership. We bought our first Toyota in 2022. Not one issue.
One of the dealerships around me still has a 22 challenger r/t brand new for 14k off msrp. Still 34k out the door which would’ve been a normal price 4-5 years ago…
It’s not just overpricing it’s the quality for me. I’ve purchased 3 vehicles under the Chrysler umbrella and the Dodge Promaster was the last one I will ever buy. I’ve had so many issues just to keep them on the road. It was in the shop just about as much as I owned it. I will never buy another Chrysler type vehicle ever….they don’t last
I bought a redeye in Jan 2019 for $68,780 at 1.9% interest.. Which is about what they are worth.. It was that cheap due to the Performance Bucks discount they had at the time, I got $7,970 off retail, along with the dealer incentives for a total of $11,400 off msrp.. Just thinking people paid $30-60k over msrp for cats, redeye's, & demon's makes me sick.. People are dumb who paid that as there has been over 100k hellcat powered vehicles produced..
The business model occurred about 10-12 years ago, with a coffee shortage. The price spiked to $15/lb from $10 but there was never empty shelves. During the pandemic ,the shortages along the supply chain was used as a reason to inflate prices, remember masks? Lumber? Computer chips? Toilet paper? How the Russian invasion caused a huge price spike and in 2008, people quit buying cars but the auto industry would counter the high gas price with hammering the supply chain shortage. Supply shortage is the new ongoing business model for the foreseeable future. The only way recreate this is to shut down factories temporarily.
I just went by my local Dodge/Ram dealership and their GIANT sign was advertising 20% off MSRP. But every single one of them had a addendum sticker from $5-9k on them.
I took my Charger for some maintenance this past week. A salesperson took me to where the cars are kept and OMG! The quantity of Challengers but especially Chargers was absolutely insane. Between V6 and all kind of V8 they had at least 250 Chargers including a Super Bee and at least 10 Daytonas,a Mopar Edition and a Demon 170.
The dealers marked these cars up for one reason: because they knew that the public was stupid enough to overpay on them. For them to try to blame the pandemic is for them to completely ignore all of the markup that they put on hellcats and Demons prior to 2020. One of the other issues no one seems to mention is that interest rates have risen considerably since the pandemic 2020. When Russia invaded Ukraine, in 2021 the federal reserve raised interest rates, almost as if it was a reflex. This country is fine with 3% interest but when you get to 7% interest now you’re basically paying double per month on what you have bought. That’s what caused a lot of people to walk away from there Corvette, C8 06 allocations. Apparently Dodgers, consumer base can’t easily walk away from their allocations. But at the end of the day, it’s also important to remember that, with the exception of the hellcat engine in these cars, these cars are old. More than 10 years old, and played out at this point. Even though people may not like the direction that the charger and challenger are going in or the jeep EV the fact is that they are going to sell even if they are limited numbers.
Dodge is going to have 3 & 4 year old brand new cars on their lots that they aren't going to be able to give away after awhile. Just because they treaded all the people wrong when they wanted to buy the cars. Me ill wait awhile and just maybe be able to buy a Demon 170 for $60,000 or less just need to be patient 😂😂😂😂. Love your channel keep up the great work. God Bless you and your family. Stay safe out there in California. I'm in the arm pit of the United States 🇺🇸. I live in Ohio😂😂. 😊👍🙏🏼
Chryslers problem has always been mismanagement. Fewer dealerships, parts availability doesn't help either. Anyone that looks at the change in management through the years would stay away from Chrysler products. Now you have Fiat designing the jeeps and they are no more than Fiats underneath the skin. This company isn't being boycotted. People with real sense just would not buy one. Their numbers will dwindle even more in time.
I have a 2018 wrangler. The two jeep dealerships near me quote 5-6 weeks for an oil change. I hate to imagine what warranty work would look like or emergency repair. A poor dealership service experience is another negative mark.
I totally agree with you. I have been saying this for over a year. DCJR has fallen into six digititis. Lots here a loaded with Charger and Challengers to the point that they have run out of room on the lot. Dealers have no room for new inventory which means that they are losing sales. I took my Grand Cherokee in for service and just walked around the showroom looking at sticker prices and there was nothing there for less that $110K...there is not a Challenger Hellcat made that is worth $110K unless it is a 1969. I live in the Houston where the median income is higher that many cities around the state, but these cars are not moving. I say they are like a microwave oven...once you have one you don't need another. Dealers have screwed themselves with the "limited availability" story...just walk the lot and you quickly see that lie does not hold.
It’s the pricing. Myself, my wife and my sister are looking for new vehicles this month. We started at Jeep and laughed at the pricing. I’ve had several jeeps as late as 2019 and the same trim is like 20k more. Not going to happen. It’s stupidity. They’ve raised their MSRP almost 50% since 2020. That’s not going to move inventory. On a side note I say that dodge Hornet at a dealer and the ones they had were in the 50’s. lol. I couldn’t believe something that competes with the low end Toyota and Honda small SUV’s was almost twice the price. Insane.
I wanted to trade my 2019 Scatpack in for Last Call Hellcat Redeye, but the price increases by Stellantis combined with dealer mark-ups were insane. I ended up buying a ZL1 1LE for $30k less and kept my Scatpack as a daily. I ended up with a faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile car that corners far better than an HC and kept a terrific daily. I had never bought a Chevy before. Stellantis may have permanently lost a customer.
I know a business owner that has a fleet of 15+ 3/4 ton trucks. He typically is buying 4+ trucks every year as the existing trucks get rotated out. He had always purchased Dodge/Ram trucks for the last 15 years. Almost all his personal vehicles are Mopar vehicles as well. For the first time he has started to buying GMC trucks, with the #1 reason is the price of the Ram trucks now are rediculus. It's weird to see his business trucks as anything other than Ram. RIP Mopar, at least they went out on a high note with the last call vehicles I guess.
We went to look at a new Wrangler unlimited or a Gladiator. They offered a discount but then added market adjustments to make it cost listed price which are grossly over priced. We walked out without talking to anyone. Some of these vehicles have been there for months
Dodge, Jeep are the worst dealers. I remember going to my local dealership in 2022. I said I would not pay over MSRP and they laughed in my face. Now all those guys have lost their jobs and they have cars sitting there from last summer. They can rot. I’ll never buy a Dodge product.
My neighbor is a retired Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep parts manager. I have been watching his driveway for over 40 years. He drove all Chrysler vehicles, and his driveway was filled with them. Even most of his friends drove Jeeps and Ram trucks. But lately it’s been anything but Stellantis.
In November 2022, I WAS a honda, toyota fan. During that time, the dealerships in my LA area were marking up priced. Only 1 toyota dealership didn't mark up because they were owned by a rental company. Someone stole the catalytic converter from my Prius, so I was looking at a Sienna hybrid. The Toyota dealership in City of Industry offeted me a 2021 for $60k! I laughed in his face and pointed at a used Model Y and said if I'm spending $60k, I mind as well buy that Tesla brand new. The sales guy realized what I said made sense. Then I thought, why not. So I walked to the next door neighbor, VW, and bouhhty a new ID4 AWD Pro at MSRP. After that, I became a VW fan and now my wife and kids will get VW's.
I'm glad you mentioned the dealers being predatory & taking advantage of the less knowledgeable customers. Which to your point is going to come back & bite them eventually. The banks & financing are to blame & the insurance industry is going to get impacted as well. A storm is coming & they sold their soul. So the consequences for that has to be paid. Good lesson for the auto industry still coming.
I honestly dont think anyone is boycotting car makers. Peoole just cant afford new cars when people are already struggling to make ends meet. The only car maker boycott I would take seriously is BMW... or any other car maker who tries to make standard luxury features, such as heated seats, a subscription service. Thats taking things too far. I understand a subscription needed for services like OnStar, because its a third party. But heated seats? Nah....
I am a first time Ram Customer. I wanted a 2023 Ram PowerWagon in the summer of '23. Best price I could find was $72,000. And there was only one in that price range. Still $20,000 too rich for my blood. So I found a 2023 White(my color) Ram Power Wagon with 22,000 miles. Jumped on it and haven't looked back. Price was $55,000. Close enough to my budget and I have been very happy. No significant issues except gas mileage. But what do you expect in a 3/4 ton crew cab 4x4 with a 410 hp v-8 ? Gas is cheap. I do want a bed mounted 110 gallon auxiliary tank. Very happy!!
Absolutely correct analysis!! I have a 2017 Charger Scat Pack with 52,000 miles and wanted to trade up to a 2023. Here in metro Atlanta, the dealers are adding $5,000 to $10,000 over MSRP. I pretty much said screw you, this is going to bite you in the ass. Looks like it's coming true. If I buy a new "'muscle" car it will be a Mustang 5.0 or a Camaro SS. Bought convertible because I sold my last Harley after riding since 1994 and miss the wind in my face but know my MC days are over due to my age (over 65). If Dodge goes out of business, too bad. They put the gun in their own mouth and pulled the trigger.
I've watched a dodge dealership go from having maybe 50 cars on thier lot, to having hundreds of cars just sitting there for the last 8 months. I drive by it twice everyday here in Phoenix.

I researched it but Chrysler isn't disclose the conditions anywhere at the time. They didn't include it in the Warranty Manuals until 2009 vehicles came out. In the August words of my grandfather. "Never forget that a car saleman is a horse trader with no crap on his shoes".
Because it's inside the shoes instead? Love it! Thanks for that memory.❤

The working are realistically in the same situation. At least you are honest about it.
I Honestly Truly Believe that the prices of new Gas vehicles were raised to pay for EV R&D and Production ❤
They were raised to pay the carbon credits from the EV producers, imagine Dodge having to pay Musk to produce any HEMI. That's Irony.

Scat packs were 37k and hellcats 60k people didn’t rush out to buy them now that they are 60k and 100k they want to purchase but didn’t have the original price 10 years ago when they came out 🤦♂️
Dealer markups on Kia’s? Lawd!
AWESOME video and you're totally right. After a LOYAL dodge customer for 45 years I went to buy a Challenger and almost GOUGED with huge markup. I walked away and vowed not to EVER NEVER buy a Dodge vehicle again.Goodbye and you lost a customer for life as well
Wow! Thanks for an excellent video. A nice "reality check!" for Stilantis . It just makes me love my Toyota Tacoma that much more everyday!
Busted out laughing when you were talking about the aberration known as the Mach-E and suddenly the dreadfully designed Aztek appears on my screen.
I remember Survivor more than 10 years ago, and it was the one of the "prizes" if they win challenge. The guy had to control himself from laughing on-camera and had to be polite in accepting that horror on 4 wheels.
Cyber Truck joins the silly looking vehicle chat
The mach-e should really be rebadged as what it is an electric Ford Edge and remove all the mustang decals.
Yes but nothing is as ugly as the Tesla model y bubble roof car
@@Ken-qq6gp ya model y is super ugly
I always tell a dealer to prove it with paperwork. Then I cross reference with the manufacturer.
Sounds like a pretty good analysis to me, Brad.
BOYCOTT DODGE.. BOYCOTT CHRYSLER.. BOYCOTT JEEPS
BOYCOTT FORD . BOYCOTT G.M. & ELECTRIC ⚡ VEHICLES..
Keep up the great content OC we all appreciate everything you do and we all love both your channels 🙏🇺🇸
Well done customers. Keep it going and get away from toxic Dodge stealerships.
Spot on, OC, great video! I sure hope Tim Kuniskis sees this video. Probably nothing he doesn't already know.
I agree with the Mach e, that was hilarious..lol😂
Mach-e is made in Mexico and has so much Chinese content it no longer qualifies for the federal EV credit.
Thank you OC motivator for your informative information.
I would feel robbed paying 60-70k for a Scat 😅. Heck over 55k is already pushing it.
If I could get a demon 170 for 100k, I’d trade my 🐈 in a heartbeat
Chryslers problem has always been mismanagement. Fewer dealerships, parts availability doesn't help either. Anyone that looks at the change in management through the years would stay away from Chrysler products. Now you have Fiat designing the jeeps and they are no more than Fiats underneath the skin. This company isn't being boycotted. People with real sense just would not buy one. Their numbers will dwindle even more in time.
If they want to sell those cars, they better start by taking 30k off the top of them. Nobody is going to put those prices for those vehicles.
I have a 2018 wrangler. The two jeep dealerships near me quote 5-6 weeks for an oil change. I hate to imagine what warranty work would look like or emergency repair. A poor dealership service experience is another negative mark.
They ran me off a long time ago !!! I also wanted the hellcat charger . 25k over at every stop … nope .
You missed the bandwagon in 2020 and 2021. Got a Hellcat and Redeye both at $11K under sticker.
Dodge will file chapter 11 in early 2025
Guaranteed
Dodge is nothing more than a nameplate owned by Stellantis. The Dodge Hornet is made in Italy by Stellantis brand Fiat.
I agree, the Mach-E every time I see one I just shake my head.
Vote Trump
Drill baby Drill 🤣🤣🤣
I know a business owner that has a fleet of 15+ 3/4 ton trucks. He typically is buying 4+ trucks every year as the existing trucks get rotated out. He had always purchased Dodge/Ram trucks for the last 15 years. Almost all his personal vehicles are Mopar vehicles as well. For the first time he has started to buying GMC trucks, with the #1 reason is the price of the Ram trucks now are rediculus. It's weird to see his business trucks as anything other than Ram. RIP Mopar, at least they went out on a high note with the last call vehicles I guess.
Your analysis is spot on!
Thanks!
Canceling the HEMI kicked off the boycotting IMHO
Was looking at a demon 170. Bought a new zo6. Thank god I love this car its amazing.
Totally agreed. We shouldn’t be paying massive overpriced on everything. We the consumers have control over this issue it not just automobile it’s all of the above. Thanks for sharing.
