The only comparison that is valid is if you use all new parts.

🙂 its a very decent beater, the only thing i would change is spend a couple more bucks and get a better looking matx case, for only 20 more u can step up to alot of better options

Nice build! Similar to my recent ps5 console killer but I used an rx 6600 xt instead. Total build cost for me including taxes and delivery was $436. Definitely could have got it under $400 if I dropped to a 500-550 watt psu and got an aliexpress ddr4 ram kit.

😒 uhm that power supply is too weak, i have a really nice sapphire nitro 5700 XT and that thing pulls alot of watts, it has two 8 pin plugs, the minimum is 650watts for that card, if ur using a weaker power supply i highly recommend and suggest you cap the fps to 60, but yeah 650 is the minimum, but if it was me i would just step up to a 750 if its not much more money, or a used non modular 750. The 500 watts power supply I would only suggest it for video cards with a single 8pin at most like a 3060 and even then ur cutting it close.

i feel like you shouldve spent less on the cooler, maybe stuck with the stock cooler, and switched out the power supply for something tier c or above, i've had multiple tt smart 500w 80+ units catch fire powering lower power components like 1660s and r5 2600s

    • @tech_evolved
      @tech_evolved  5 місяців тому +1

I would've stuck with stock but unfortunately buying used you don't always get stock cooler. I used a 700w variant of the psu for a while and haven't had issues. Thanks for the warning though, I'll keep my eye on it!

yeah. the smart units used to be at least semi decent, around tier d level, so usable for cheap systems, but in ~2020 they switched to a less reliable OEM using worse quality capacitors + worse gauge wires for the cables. plus most of the tt smart units still say 'haswell ready' which should indicate how old the design of the psu is and why you should stay away@@tech_evolved

thats odd? a 2600 1660 super is perfect for a 500w power supply? you said multiple power supplys are catching fire? Nah broh i don't believe you 😒

amd oem coolers are ugly, he did well to replace it, a 120 argb cooler starts at only 17 bucks now, or forget the argb and just get a 120mm tower cooler for the same money, but yeah I wouldnt be using the oem cooler never unless its a place holder

There's some amount of money which could be saved there:
    - Even though you picked the cheapest case in theory, you're not gonna be showcasing your PC in videos and thins like that so you can save money by going with a fully enclosed case instead. The vast majority of people use their PC cases under their desk anyways.
    - RGB is a commodity which is unnecessary, especially when you're trying to save money in a build. Get some non-RGB fans from known Chinese quality brands like Akasa or AVC instead.
    - The cpu cooler which comes on Ryzen CPUs, unlike Intel's, is perfectly adequate for the CPU it shipped with. Use it instead of buying another one.
    - I'd advise doing some research and getting Chinese branded RAM of known quality instead of known brand names. In practice, all memory chips that exist in the market are manufactured by 3 companies (SK Hynix, Micron and Samsung), so you better get cheaper RAM on the specs you're looking for than pay for more a brand.
    - The supported speed of a M.2 drive has more to do with the CPU you're using it with than the chipset unless the M.2 you want to use is connected to the chipset. Same goes for memory.

Used and underwhelming new parts vs a new ps5? Buy the ps5 and if you need a computer then buy a Chromebook to supplement it easy peesy no sacrifices.

This is cool, now buy a Monitor, mouse and keyboard. Oh you might need speakers or headset. Then explain all the parents how their kids will never use it to go on the internet and just to play video games. The good thing about consoles is they run their games and they are cheap. Yes you can use a cheap old PC, but it will be unable to play the games faster then the console. Currently my 2017-2019 PC can no longer support Fortnite on 60FPS on the lowest setting on FULLHD. Some online games get their requirements up with every patch on PC. But they make sure they run better on their consoles. Bottom line this is not the PC you will switch to PC for. If you have the money you will switch to PC :)

Mouse/keyboard combo can be like 30-40$ and any headphones with a mic works just like console 😂 and there’s also the fact that sure for maybe 50$ more you get a pc capable of taking on console with the needed peripherals, but you get access to both Sony/microsoft games and the tens of thousands of mods and the indie games. To get access to that with a console 😂😂😂😂 you would need both consoles, being around 1200$ after taxes meanwhile a 700$ computer can play both and much much much much more.
Console is great if you want strictly AAA. The way AAA games have been. PC still better 😂

consoles are pretty much useless, its not about the device but the "video game library" , a console is not practical once you have a video game library goes over 1000 games, i have 5000 games and counting, how do u expect me to run them all on a console of any generation?

@@MrSamadolfo I mean yes and no, you can buy more external storage because at the end of the day, unless you a spent a consoles worth on storage, you don’t have even 500 games downloaded at a given time 😂
But sony only has like 3K games available and xbox 2-3K meanwhile steam just last year added 14K games alone🤷🏻‍♂️
