Hi Bobby, It should be that same. Please check the device name you get when to connect your new harddrive on the IDE or SATA controller. After you get that devicename, adapt to your case and the next steps should be the same. Regards, Rodrigo
Thank you for this, given what Microsoft is doing with Windows 11 I plan to go to Linux once they drop support for windows 10, I mainly use my pc for gaming, so hopefully with Steam and Lutris, as well as some of the other gaming stuff that has a wine compatibility layer it will get better by that point.
@@hopelessdecoy I have other stuff as well from GOG, Origin, Ubisoft, Battlenet, and Epic, though I don't use Epic's spyware launcher to launch my games instead I currently use legendary for Epic instead. I don't do any online gaming so I don't have to worry about the anticheat thing, although some anticheat games DO work in Linux like Call Of Duty
I had to modify my commands a little bit because i didn't partition my HDD. So I had to run the command one level up in the directory. My Directory was /media/username Here is the command I used sudo chown username drivename

It is the same. Connect the new drive, check for the device name, partition it and format! Regards.
Thank you . This is an excellent tutorial clear and concise. Well done !

Steam has its built in Proton compatibility layer which works really well. No wine required if you're just doing steam games.

O Ubuntu em "bare metal" é muito bom!! Faz toda a diferença entre trabalhar na VM ou directamente em hardware.
