Thank you Tiffany, I was coming to Methana anyway this week because my car which I need in Aigina has to spend a week in the garage. However the hotel I originally booked and stayed in over the weekend wasn’t up to much (in need of thorough updating) so I called in at Villa Popi and now have a much nicer room here, cheaper too> Swimming off the rocks beyond the harbour is great 😘
@@agirlandherpassport the whole of Methana town could do with updating! There are so many seriously dilapidated buildings and a seafront hotel closed in high season. But I’m enjoying it anyway
You had a great shot of the Methana volcano from the ferry. In fact, I've never seen as good a shot of it. Its an interesting place---and actually 'active' in the way volcanos are classified by geologists. The lava dome that was visible in your video erupted as recently as about 200bce. But there was a submarine eruption north of the lava dome that erupted only about 300 years ago. Beautiful beaches too. And. . .horta and sardines. . .two of my very favorite things to eat in Greece! I always loved having them with retsina. We actually grow amaranth, which is the primary vegetable green in 'horta'. But it is the best with Greek olive oil. Anyway. . . .lovely video. It made me miss being in Greece.
Yeah we were impressed with the views from the ferry! I think there are several lava domes on the peninsula. I didn't care for the horta but it was a bitter one. The sardines were for my friend. I do love the amaranth but it has to be cooked right. Thanks!!
I remember when I was in Larissa during my military service. It was the first time I had experienced 47-48 degree heat. We had to stand on sentry duty in 47 degrees in full gear. It was unbearable. As I get older I realise that 42 degrees is equally as unbearable. Again, great video Tiffany. Hope you have a longer holiday now in the summer and we get to enjoy it with you. I recommend central Evia island for your next weekend adventure (Chalkida with a nice waterside walk and the Evripos pass, and Eretria with the touristy but also historical vibe. It's only 60-90mins drive from Athens, with a ferry option for Eretria from Skala Oropou
I can't imagine standing in full dress! The only good thing is that it is really dry so at least there is not the added effect of humidity. Thank you! No plans right now but I usually stay in Athens in August to avoid the crowds. But you never know!

Hola 👋🏼 How did you like The Lost Daughter? I really liked it 🥰 of course I commented at the start of the video but now I know you liked it. Hopefully I will go to Spetes next time I am in Greece 🙏 Yes, the book store is super cute and their food is good. I went a couple of times 😃
How are the Greek lessons going? If you are looking for a nice Greek series with English translation I recommend watching the serie ( Eisai to tairi mou) I found it very entertaining. Btw what a shame of the hotbaths, but there are some nice hotbaths in North Evia.
Hey beautiful after October when do the ferries stop? Some friends are thinking of going to Crete in late October? Also how is the weather in late October? Thanks 😊 ❤️
The ferries don't stop. The schedule will have less but it never stops. You can check the schedules and book tickets here, www.ferryhopper.com/en/?aff_uid=grlps. The weather will still be nice especially in Crete.

@@agirlandherpassport A tip from an Australian where we get 48 degrees Celsius, buy a succulent plant, can take the heat and even be neglected. Take care and loving your vlogs
Islands are definitely cooler because of the sea the winds and more nature all around, but if you stuck in Athens be sure of having a cool drink with you or sitting in a cool coffee or a shady place. It's nice! You just have to avoid places where has a lot of sun and limit the unnecessary moving.

It's not that hot...40-42 is very common in Greece....let's hope it wont get more than 45...That will be heat..Enjoy your stay!!!!!!

Unbearable heat isn't? Thanks god we have September and October that will be cool like a paradise in Greece! Amazing trip! Keep it up!
The weekend was worse. I can’t wait for September. Thanks!
I was wondering what the ferry schedule is in October 🙏🏾❤️
Wow that is the greenest place you’ve seen so far? Try Ionian islands or Sporades. You will be amazed
Well the greenest near Athens. Paxos was pretty green.

You're from Texas right, so I hope you're used to summer heat 😋
I did! Such a nice place. I am used to the heat and it’s a very dry heat.
Is the restaurant in 5:05 in Exarchia? I think I’ve been there. I have a friend who lives in Exarchia and we went to eat there.
No, this is in Keramikos.

I stopped taking them. I was overwhelmed with everything and I still don't have time. Yes, I hope to go to the ones in Evia one day.
You should go to Politeia bookstore in Akadimia.
I have been there once.
Sadly I've had to cancel my holiday to zante due to covid...I'm heartbroken but hopefully next year I'll be there. 🙏

I would just get money at the ATM. The exchange places don’t give you a good rate.
You’re showing me so many itinerary options…not good for old indecisive me!
You don’t have to do it all. Just pick the ones you like!
What happened to your plant on the balcony, heat or not enough water?
I actually overwatered it and it got too much sun. I will have to try again!

It will be hot but there will be a breeze there. Power outages aren't that common so don't worry about that.
Especially in the afternoon. Get out in the morning and evenings.
Don't forget to drink plenty of water, especially at the beach. You can get dehydrated easily without noticing.
