So thankful y'all are feeling better. 69 year old retired widow. Planted my first garden this year. Couldn't have done it without your tips. Old goat is in the beautiful sunflowers.
Old goat’s in the sunflowers. Best part of the show was when you wolfed down the spicy mayo. She got you on that one and you ate the whole thing at once. 😂
I started my first garden this year. The caterpillars hit my tomatoes hard but I was still able to salvage a good bit. Next year I'll be better prepared.
🌻🐝☀️🌺👨🌾 I love your garden!! It’s a great inspiration to me as I am also a gardener and UA-cam creator. You put a lot of work and love into growing your garden! All the hard work is worth it to me to get to see the new growth everyday it brings me so much joy! l’m just harvesting my first fruits and veggies. I still have so much to learn and I appreciate all of m your tips, tricks that you share! Please Keep sharing! I would love to learn more about gardening from each other.

So That monday we had 2 drive 90 miles to where our oldest Son is a chief at a fire department and it came back YEAP !!!! But i wasnt YET . the next day I woke up with 102.7 fever etc. We were stuck in the house for 2 weeks - but actually we helped each other - He went back to work Jan 5th . I ended up with pneumonia ! But we made it together . Just like yall . Loved the Dukes mayo test lol. An I agree mircle whip isnt Mayo ...yuck!!! God bless you Greg & Beautiful Mrs Sheila. Mrs Josette - Texas
I haven't had much disease problems, just high heat, and lack of rain. Heat stress is playing havoc on everything here in Young County Texas. The goat is in the top part of sunflower arrangement. Have a blessed day
I’m watching older videos to find some new disease resistant tomatoes to possibly add to our garden this year. We are a Hellmans Mayo family, I just wanted to say, I 1000!! Agree with you Hoss about that Miracle whip lol!! My oldest son is a “Duke’s”man. Loved this video. I’m looking forward to hearing what tomatoes you say for 2024 season. I’m not sure if you’ve had a show for it yet, I’m going to look now. I’m in TN(NW, in Clarksville). Loving these videos. Thanks! 😊
FOUND THE OLD GOAT - after scouring your backdrop, not finding it, figured you're skipping this week. UNTIL you showed us those GORGEOUS SUNFLOWERS, AND VOILA there he is, hiding in the bouquet! PLEASE give us the recipe for the fried tomatoes..... DUKES is on my grocery list to try it out! THANK YOU BOTH!!! I have never seen anyone peel a tomato except the HOSS MAN. Yes, peeled when canning tomatoes.
Our growing zone is 5b substantially different than you all. We have just recently started watching all your videos. Although our growing season is shorter all your suggestions (especially calcium for tomatoes) are well received. At first I was confused to see a goat in your beautiful sunflower arrangement but now I get it.
I love the tomatoes unpeeled but as I age (& tomatoes are my favorite garden item) I have now learned the the skins and seeds contain lectins that irritate my arthritis. I fudge and eat it some time but when I have flare up I peel and take the seeds out. Not the same but better than none at all. The old goat in the sunflower bouquet is priceless!
You two are so stinkin’ cute together! Love your show, but if y’all don’t stop eating tomatoes in front of us before ours start coming in, I might have to stop watching you guys! 😂 You’re killing those of us north of you! Just kidding, I won’t stop watching. The old goat is in the bouquet of sunflowers. Have a great weekend!
Beautiful sun flowers! Trying Dukes for the first time in our life. Really Good! Glad to hear you both are getting better from the crud. The old goat is in the flower vase of sunflowers. Was laughing the whole time with Sheila about the Spicy mayo test. lol
Hello from Jacksonville, FL! Another GREAT video! Loved seeing the old goat hiding in the sunflowers! Those sunflowers are BEAUTIFUL! I hope to have some sunflowers that look that good growing in my backyard one day! :)
The old goat is in the vase of sunflowers. I agree 100% with Greg on the mayo. Duke's is the best and only mayo we use in our household. The hossinator I started from seed this year is doing so well, even in this 102 degree heat with a heat index at 110 here. It is showing a lot of promise for our future gardens and we think it will be a keeper. Great show!
All my tomatoes are burnt up. It is 100 degrees here in Southeast Texas with no rain in 2 months. My yard long beans look like snake skins and my corn never produced any corn. No zucchini and no pumpkin. My yard is cracked like we had an earthquake or something. Hurricane possibly on the 22cnd . I hate hurricanes but I hope we get some rain out of it . Prayers
Happy the both of you made it through the crud and is feeling well! Greg your garden looks great, especially your corn and tomatoes. Thank you for all y'all do for us gardeners!
Tomatoes are getting large but my patience is struggling. Soo looking forward to a mater sammich. Love the show and by the way the old goat was in the sunflower arrangement. I'm a blue plate mayonnaise expert.
The Old Goat is in the sunflowers! It took me a while to find it! Way to go Greg on your Duke taste test! Thanks for the valuable information on tomato diseases.
We just slice, salt, pepper, (seasoning of choice) let them sweat for about an hour. Sprinkle with a sparse amount of milk. Use a mixture of cornmeal, flour and parmesan cheese, coat both sides and fry.
you were the winner of this weeks Old Goat Drawing! If you will send us your size shirt and which design to our email @custserv@hosstools.com Thank you
I had blossom end rot when I first started growing tomatoes about 4 years ago. Never could prevent it or cure it. This year however i mixed high quality worm castings in soil and so far so good. The fungi attaches to roots and acts like a straw. The microbes in them eat the organic matter and coverts the nutrients into a soluble form and the fungi slurps it up to the roots. So far its working like a charm. Now if I could just control the leaf footed bugs i will be ok lol.
@@TexasMyTexas i am trying to do everything organically. So I have taken to shaking the plants vigorously and when they fly up i swat them with a flat stick. Lol. They still out number me but my batting average has improved. Lol.
Hey now I love my miracle whip and I don’t peel my tomatoes love watching your videos. Keep up the good work thank you for all your good information. I’m a fairly new gardener. Need all the help I can get.
🤣🤣 I missed this last night. But, cool way to show the old goat... 😂NOW, we have a question for Hoss 🙂 The Floradade and Homestead tomatoes are heat set varieties. Out tomatoes are still out there. But, we have got nearly nothing on the vines. The unusual winds gave our veggies the "veggie junk". My question for you Mr Greg Hoss is why can't we plant these varieties now?
The young plants need to get established in cooler weather. You can start in a greenhouse now be ready for a fall crop. We will discuss this next week on the show.
I have had blossom end rot before and ended up using Cal/Mag for it. It worked well. I loved this vid on tomatos, great job. I saw the goat right off this time, usually I don't. He is in the flower arrangement.
It's supposed to be 9° F tomorrow morning and my Hoss heat mat is supposed to be here tomorrow also so I can start my sweet potato slips, onion and leeks
Tricky 😉...I think I saw the Old Goat hiding in the sunflowers. My tomatoes have tried to get that leaf spot, I've stayed on top of it and pick out the leaves every day...so far so good. I don't peel for fresh but do with canning.
We don't have dukes mayonnaise here in Minnesota. I used to use it in Oklahoma. I do like miracle whip for some things. Not tomato sandwiches. I try to make my own now.
My wife just got it last Sunday and I have been negative but she is doing better and I have that scratchie throat as well and I hope its not getting on me dang it. But I'm sure enjoying your show on tomatoes 🍅 😋 ..
I’m trying to pay attention but I can’t stop looking at them fried green maters! And I lost every plant I had…southern wilt. We will be starting new beds this coming spring because rotation is key and I knew this but I got cocky.
Great show as always! Jealous of those fresh maters. Mine are just before turning; can't wait to try that Hossinator! Team peel! Old Goat is in the beautiful sunflowers 🌻
Mama Hoss....puh...LEESE do a video on how you make those fried tomatoes. Im drooling over here watching y'all eat those things. Its fine telling us how its done, but we need to see it!
They were slightly pink. I slice, season, and let sit for about an hour to draw out the moisture. Then sprinkle with milk (very little) and bread with a1/2 corn meal, 1/2 plain flour mixture. Fry on high in peanut oil, turning frequently. Drain on paper towel and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
