I wish more attention to this form of JJ was out there, especially when it comes to the complete form and history. So many people think that BJJ is the only real jiu-jitsu.
Thank you!!
I have this guys books, basic intermediate and advanced, I studied judo and jujitsu for a few years now, and those book help explain so much of the theory behind the art.

SuperMadKlown,
I understand your concern. On the street it's difficult or impossible to know what's coming. That's why you train in different scenarios. Yes, I knew the knife was coming because this is a training video. It was supposed to show one one many potential responses. As I hope you know, the more you train in street-type situations the greater your chances of survival in a real street situation. The more you know what to look for in an attacker, the better your chances of survival are.
Is there any way I could learn your entire system of jujitsu? Where do I start? I've always wanted to look into being trained by you since my late teens and then forgot about everything for over a decade and now I'm wanting to learn at the age of 46. I'm in good shape too so I'm ready.
Your best bet is to go to my website & go through the common questions/answers at budoshin.com/about-bjj/common-questions/ . Other questions - - you can email me at senseigk@budoshin.com . I apologize if it seems there is just too much info on the website. However, I learned early on in my public-school teaching career that students preferred to have all the course information, requirements, and how to do the work up front.
If you want the entire system "up front", you'd need the Black Belt Home Study Course videos, 2nd-5th dan videos, and at least the Densho after that. Student & Black Belt handbooks would also help. Also, books are great for theory and fine points of techniques. However, you don't need everything "up front." The website should be a good guide to get you going, or email me with questions.
Very effective and realistic Self-defence
Thank you. It does work.
Looking good, Professor Kirby.
Thank you.
Thank you for the compliment. I appreciate it.
@TheGoogler77
One should be careful where one places one's feet.
Great technique

I enjoyed this video. I have bought many of your books and would love to practice your system of jujitsu. Do you know of any schools in Utah? Also, I was wondering about the lineage of budoshin. Does it date back to feudal Japan? Thanks for spreading information on this martial art. Sadly, it's hard to find a Jujutsu school around where I live.
Dusty Dietrich he has home study courses that can take you to shodan also on the website it gives the lineage and goes back pretty far
Nothing looks nice on the street. Any technique in any art can be resisted &/or countered unless the opponent is distracted or caught off guard or it is a "proper hold" [once set resistance = injury]. In these instructional videos I do let a number of holds slide so the uke can execute a proper ukemi without injury. Techniques do result in joint injuries if held securely - from many experiences - plus ground impact.
Haiku? No. Multiple interpretations - in the eye/mind of the beholder.
George Kirby well said Master Kirby
Yes nothing looks nice on the street and what looks nice on Cinema screens doesn't mean it's effective.
I agree. @@khushveerengineer2726
I have 2 books Jujutsu Basic Techniques of the Gentle Art & Jujutsu Intermediate Techniques of the Gentle Art plus many Jujutsu articles written by GM George Kirby.
Thank you for your support. If you have questions please contact me at senseigk@budoshin.com
I'd do the same thing to anyone attacking me with a pink shirt on!
This looks like it would blend well with Krav Maga.
Steve, Yes it will. Marc Tucker, one of my co-instructors, has a background in krav maga and he blends it in very easily with Budoshin Jujitsu.
@@senseigk1 Thanks for the reply. I will consider getting the DVDs.
@@here2rock988 You might want to consider a dvd/mp4 + BJJY membership package with a seasonal discount through Jan. 2. Contact me at senseigk@budoshin.com if interested.
