    Great video Justin! Everything on that one looks identical to mine. I should check my generator coolant hose.

      Thank you and I have never seen this happen to any other Fischer Panda so I wouldn't worry too much about it. It is not a typical repair. 🤗

    great video Justin.. I love your videos. I have an overheating issue with my engine (Volvo Penta 5.7 OSXi-G) too, but is a bit weird!! I start the engine and I have no problem, I run the engine for about 15 mins at around 1K RPM (in the canal where I live) no problem. When I get to the bay and then I run the engine at 3.5-4.0K RPM for 20 minutes (to cross the Key Biscayne Bay), no problem. But a soon as I bring the RPMs back to 1K, the engine starts to overheat and the alarm goes off. The only way to reduce the overheat of the engine is to go back to 3k-4K RMP, which it can be done on the throttle on idle or running the boat over 3k RPM. We have changed the water pump, the impeller, thermostat, etc. we still have the same issue.

      Thank you for the compliments. The first thing I would check is the water intake coupler on the drive. They are plastic and tend to break over time. They will sit below the water line at idle and when you take off and plan they will suck air and cause the motor to overheat. Search some forums for the problem and you will find what to look for. It's on the drive and you can get to it if you trim it all the way up. Keep me posted and thanks for watching.

    Hi Justin. I have this exact same boat and last week I had a generator failure. Im in MIchigan and my dad and gf do not do that well without the seakeeper. The nearest dealer is far away, so it's up to me to try to fix this thing and save the rest of my season. Initially I had a cylinder head overheat error message on the generator display. cyl head temp was 217 but the other temp numbers for the exhaust manifold etc were around 160. Only the cyl head temp was high. After that, I kept getting different actuator codes. The unit will crank and start sometimes. but the engine rpm is too low. Sometimes, it will trigger a low coil voltage error and shut down presumably due to low engine and coil rpm, but most of the time it gets a actuator error of some kind. If you move the actuator around while the unit is powered off it will restart, but the engine will run inconsistent RPM. You can tell the engine is running too slowly. Sometimes it runs 2200, sometimes it runs 2900, but it's always low, then it triggers an error of some kind and shuts down. The cylinder head temp appears to be rising quickly when it runs. There is pnelty of coolant water coming out the exhaust it seems normal. The coolant bottle does not appear to be overfilled as seen in this video. Generator battery voltage seems appropriate. When the engine does run briefly, you are able to manually grab the actuator and increase the engine speed, so the engine is capable of running closer to appropriate engine speed, it just cant or wont for some reason. The dealer is going to send me a new actuator and boost module because they said they have to be replaced together. Do you think I could be having the coolant hose issue as well as an actuator problem? I need to inspect the impeller, but I don't have a gasket for it yet. Any thoughts?

    • @JustinLeeMarine
      @JustinLeeMarine  Рік тому

      Sounds like you have two problems at the same time. The boost board and actuator will take care of the voltage/RPM problem. If it has been over heated you will need to bleed the cooling system because it will trap air inside the motor from boiling the antifreeze. Also check to make sure the raw water cooling system is not obstructed at any point in the system. Just because it pumps water doesn't always mean it's enough. The little gold temp sender on the top of the head can also go bad and give off false codes. I have replaced a bunch of them. Keep me posted after you get everything done and let me know what happens. Thanks and thanks for watching ☺️

      @@JustinLeeMarine Been waiting for close to 3 weeks for Fischer panda to call my grady white dealer back. Three weeks the dealer has been calling them and not a call back yet. I am very disappointed and unimpressed with Fischer panda right now.

      That is not normal for them. Call this number (954) 462-2800 and ask for Isaac. He is the one who handles the warranty repairs. They always get back to us within a day or two. Strange they won't call back. Keep me posted.

      @@JustinLeeMarine Hey Justin. I fixed my generator yesterday. The technician from the dealer spoke with FP, I think they agreed with my suspected diagnosis of actuator failure and sent a new one. The original actuator had an aluminum arm just liken the one in this video. The replacement came with a plastic arm that did not seem to be compatible with the linkage on my unit so I had to swap them. Easy enough. I installed it yesterday, and it did indeed correct the startup/inconsistent RPM leading to auto shut down issue it was having. However, after a minute or two of the generator running the cylinder head temp was rising too rapidly. I shut it down and started looking for cooling problems. There was normal water flow coming out the exhaust outlet, and the exhaust manifold was staying cool. Only the head was getting hot. I had them send me a new impeller but before I could even get to that I started checking coolant hoses and found the problem right away. One of the hose clamps was loose on the coolant line that goes between the thermostat housing and the heat exchanger. It wasn't leaking any coolant but it was allowing air to enter the cooling system. System was full of air. Tightened the loose hose clamp, bled the cooling system, and on restart the unit was cooling normally. It seems to be all fixed up now. Thanks for your help. I'll email you a quick video of the coolant hose that was sucking in air.

    my fischer panda 3cyl kubota is runing for 15 min and shuts off for overheating.
    now you got me thinking wit that hose but there is no thermostat.
    there is no emulsion oil maybe head gasket?

    Another great video, thank you! Your clips have given me the confidence to take on numerous boat tasks and I appreciate it! I noticed this 330 has a bow cushion. Have you ever installed a bow cushion on a 330? Is it possible or factory only?

    • @JustinLeeMarine

      Thank you. I have never done it but it can be done after the boat is delivered. You would have to order the parts from Grady or you could have a canvas company near you custom make one.

    • @Jorday6600

      I have them for mine and I like them. Each cushion has a few snaps and two of them have a slide rail piece at the front. I bet the dealer can order them from Grady White. I just bought an aft drop curtain for mine because the first owner did not order the boat with it. I got it in a few weeks.

    I know Grady White recommends you close the generator seacock if you are not using it but can you actually hurt the Fisher Panda generator if you are not using the generator and have the seacock open and are on plane? I didn’t know if it might push water into the exhaust or into the motor somehow.

    • @JustinLeeMarine
      @JustinLeeMarine  Рік тому

      It's always good practice to shut the valve off if you are not using the component when underway. It can push water into the motor and worse case scenario hydra lock the pistons. I have seen it happen a few times. Plus it's not a bad idea to exercise the valves so they don't stick🙂

    Do you think lithium ion battery packs will replace conventional generators?

    • @JustinLeeMarine
      @JustinLeeMarine  Рік тому +1

      I think batteries can replace generators eventually but the technology is not there 100% yet. If they can find a way to make batteries hold more energy then you will definitely see them more in boats. It's also more expensive than just installing a generator. We will see what the future holds☺️

      Hi, the generator is running at about 3800 rpm or a little more, when it is loaded it goes up to 3819 rpm, and the frequency goes to 64.5 and sometimes up to almost 65 Hz, and the voltage goes to 123 V, when this happens the generator gets an alarm of "frequency out of range". The generator is Fisher Panda 8 mini (2011). Thank you very much, greeting from Puerto Rico.

    • @JustinLeeMarine
      @JustinLeeMarine  Рік тому

      This is caused by the boost capacitors being stuck on. They are controlled by the VCS. That's the box on the front of the motor. It will need to be replaced so the boost capacitors work correctly. You can send the VCS to Fischer Panda and they will give you a new one.

    • @JustinLeeMarine

      I checked for fuel leaks because I figured the same thing. The generator pan has no exit for any liquids so it could have been sitting in the pan from the time it was bled out. First time I have seen this on a Fischer Panda.
