Very thought provoking. And I have to think a lot about this one. Everyone has the right to disagree with the way a society functions in all areas. They have the right to express their dissent. But that right does not engender in anyone the obligation to listen. And, certainly, it does not give anyone the right to disrupt the lives of ordinary citizens. Disrupting people's lives to force them to listen to you is just bullying. And it's counterproductive as any movement will need the support of the very people it's annoying.
In addition, my experience has been that if you ask the average protester how to solve whatever problem they are focused on, their answers rarely rise above a few slogans. As Obama said, the problems of the world are complex and require complex solutions.

@@alanbettesworth2785 You hit the nail on the head. It is bullying and you are so right about them not having more to say than the stereotypical slogans. For example, they say 'just stop oil', 'eliminate plastic' etc but it is in everything we use - clothing, electronics, kitchenware, medical devices etc so when you ask what is the alternative, they have NO response because they haven't actually thought about a real solution.

The best way to bring about change is to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty. Put your back into it. With an eye on the end result. You want to eliminate toxic waste? Find out what alternatives there are to heat or cool your home, wash your dishes and laundry, get to work, cook your food, etc. Do those things. It's fairly easy to get close to 90% less waste, not as easy to get to 100%.

It makes my blood boil too. It's like watching a toddler have a fit. Yes, I believe it was vandalized in the summer but I need to double check that
