That kick drum fill at 8:08-8:10 is insane. I’m a guitar player, not a drummer but I can appreciate the talent here esp since he was so young when this was recorded
That vocalist is Christian Älvestam, he used the same style in his previous band, Scar Symmetry, which I liked a lot more because it didn't have as many 'clean' parts as .45. I discovered SS around 2006 and followed that voice wherever it went ever since, still baffles me how underrated this band is.
Looks like i'll be the odd man out and state that i prefer Solition 45 over Scar Symetry, and prefer Christian's cleans over his growls. His growls are good, but his cleans are just so much better than most other singers. I think growling/ screaming is overdone in Metal, and bands should start incorporating more cleans into their vocal work.
I agree with you, I like the clean vocals too. He’s just an amazing vocalist no matter how you slice it. I am bummed S45 just called it quits last month
I have listened to Christian Alvestam basically since I was a kid. I first heard him in Scar Symmetry and instantly became hooked. He is the most underrated vocalists of all time in my opinion. He is insanely talented. Also plays guitar, bass, drums etc. All of the bands he is a part of are basically sleeper bands. Which is quite a few bands. I believe he’s had as many as 5 active at one time.
To add a little to the comments already here, he also is the vocalist to Miseration who is about as heavy as metal gets. He is one amazing vocalist with a range that puts most others to absolute shame. Look at the total number of albums he has put out and it is clear he is on another level. If you enjoyed this and feel like other stuff from Solution.45, check out Lethean Tears which deserves far more love from the metal world, as well as Wirethrone, my personal favorite song by them. If you want full on heavy, Dreamdecipher from miseration is a straight drop kick to the chest and ears. Great video my friend, just found you so now I need to go watch more!
Love these guys. Christian Alvestam is one of the best melodeath vocalists. When he left Scar Symmetry, they had to replace him with two vocalists. You should check out some older Scar Symmetry stuff, too like this one: ua-cam.com/video/mebSi4PDC34/v-deo.html
Not really my cup of tea...I like some growling...Yours is an empty hope comes to mind, but I found this a bit much...that is just mho though, do like his voice when he is singing. Good reaction. Peace out

First time hearing this band/lead singer. Not a fan of the music, but thumbs up for your candid reaction.
Through Night-Kingdomed Gates is a much much better song from them ...imo
