      This one still seems doable, at least readable. I've had pieces put up my nose which I straight up couldn't read.

      This is not all thaaaat bad. First thing: mostly you have 6th instead of octaves, second: not as many jumps, third: ussualy there is time to change the position-like in Sollima's lamentatio. Medium effort-big result, thanks to well written piece❤

    I heard the first note and was like "ah the Kodaly". This is such a status piece and whoever plays this deserves so much respect because playing this is a FEAT. Congrats and great job

    Amazing!! As a cello aprentice i almost had a stroke trying to imagine playing this. No wonder why you had to practice 40 hours per day, especially considering that a day only have 24 hours! Such commitement!! lol

    Bravo! Always like your very warm and round tone color. Anyone will be laboring away for this except Starker. Looking at him play this just gives you the illusion that this piece is easy! He can play this perfectly in his sleep, it’s simply not fair 😅!

    ye i learned this peace when i first started cello it was pretty hard took me like 4 hours to learn (I never touched a cello, im a bass player btw amazing job)

      When I read ‘that is quite easy’, I was like: 🤯🤯🤯 It is a hard piece, specially for endurance and to play it by heart. But yes, there are harder pieces. For me the hardest will be always the Bach Cello Suites. That’s like the Mount Everest.

    When I was in college, Janos Starker came and gave a master class. For those who don't know, this was pretty much Starker's signature piece. One of the cello students decided to play this in the class...not particularly well. The first thing Starker said to him was..."You need to find a different piece to play". 😆 Anyway, you sound great...this does not apply to you, lol.

    is the g string tuned differently because the a string is a 440 hz a, but the g string is a 440 hz f#

    are you tuneda semi tone lower ? because at 2:04 it is written "C G D A" and we hear "B F# D A" and it is open strings

      Yes exactly! This whole sonata had this Scordatura. So the two lower strings are tuned semi tone lower. A D F# B

      Hmmmm. Then check out the whole piece before taking conclusions (link in video description). But of course, everyone has its own taste. You practically insult the Hungarian culture, as this piece represents the Magyar culture 🤣 Really, listen to the whole piece. Second movement is really touching and takes you to a journey.

    Very difficult, Kodaly is fiendish. I believe Xenakis Nomos Alpha is quite a bit more difficult than even this!
