This is not all thaaaat bad. First thing: mostly you have 6th instead of octaves, second: not as many jumps, third: ussualy there is time to change the position-like in Sollima's lamentatio. Medium effort-big result, thanks to well written piece❤
I heard the first note and was like "ah the Kodaly". This is such a status piece and whoever plays this deserves so much respect because playing this is a FEAT. Congrats and great job
Amazing!! As a cello aprentice i almost had a stroke trying to imagine playing this. No wonder why you had to practice 40 hours per day, especially considering that a day only have 24 hours! Such commitement!! lol Bravo!!!
I used to be a time lord and for large denomination bills of a decent currency paid into my offshore account, I can show you how to add an extra 16 hours to your day!
Wow, this looks crazy. I didn't even know that you could have two different clefs in the same pentagram at the same time. Enjoy a bubble tea as a reward, you have earned it.
Bravo! Always like your very warm and round tone color. Anyone will be laboring away for this except Starker. Looking at him play this just gives you the illusion that this piece is easy! He can play this perfectly in his sleep, it’s simply not fair 😅!
What was the composer thinking when coming up with this piece? One can only wonder…. Bravo to you sir for not only being able to play it but playing it so well👏
ye i learned this peace when i first started cello it was pretty hard took me like 4 hours to learn (I never touched a cello, im a bass player btw amazing job)
When I read ‘that is quite easy’, I was like: 🤯🤯🤯 It is a hard piece, specially for endurance and to play it by heart. But yes, there are harder pieces. For me the hardest will be always the Bach Cello Suites. That’s like the Mount Everest.
@@IliaLaporevcellist yeah certains suits are difficults (to have a legato sounds etc.. such as the courante of the 4th). But Hardest pieces are still piatti caprices
When I was in college, Janos Starker came and gave a master class. For those who don't know, this was pretty much Starker's signature piece. One of the cello students decided to play this in the class...not particularly well. The first thing Starker said to him was..."You need to find a different piece to play". 😆 Anyway, you sound great...this does not apply to you, lol.
@IliaLaporevcellist So, is there scordatura only for 2 strings, but everything is notated in a way that shows what the notes would have been had the same fingering been applied to a standard tuning? That's... either very convenient or very confusing... or both. Assuming I understood what's going on correctly
Hmmmm. Then check out the whole piece before taking conclusions (link in video description). But of course, everyone has its own taste. You practically insult the Hungarian culture, as this piece represents the Magyar culture 🤣 Really, listen to the whole piece. Second movement is really touching and takes you to a journey.

Fantastic! Should have titled the video like that! 😂
😂
These are the types of pieces where you see the score and start crying.
I cried…
This one still seems doable, at least readable. I've had pieces put up my nose which I straight up couldn't read.
@@playervsk Those pieces are written by idiots, people that can’t read music so they can’t write music effectively.
Crying!! ? End of story I'm will practice it soonest 😅

Wow. I'm impressed. I NEVER practice more than 36 hours a day. But, of course, I don't play that well either. That's an amazing composition!
kodaly sonata is awesome
I can never manage more than 24..

Amazing!
Yes it is! Sounds like a symphony for cello solo lol!

This piece is sooo heavy metal af, it must feel so bad ass to be able to play this 🔥

Bravissimo Maestro! 💖💖💖💖💖
Amazing!!! ❤ You are the Ling Ling of Cello gang.
I appreciate you altering the flow of time to practice enough to play this, as it sounded awesome.
Incredible. I once saw Kodaly's score, but I didn't remember how freakin hard it is.
Never knew about the new update about the number of hours per day
I can imagine 😅 But 40 hours is still not enough 😜

Bravo!! Epic piece! Ling ling would be proud 😉
Yeah... Suddenly I dont mind the requested solo pieces for double bass auditions for high school honors orchestras often being Bach Cello suites.
You should play Carnegie Hall but you might make better money playing the subway or sidewalks of NYC ( I'm blown away by this work)
Fabulous!
Your clock must have come from Harry Potter's Universe. I can't even practice 25 hours a day but yet you did it. Guinness Records should visit you
Wingardium leviosa! 🪄
He played forty hours a day because he only played 32nd notes only
Cousin Lingling can play without touching the cello after 10 min

Thanks for the hard work!

piece. Sorry, I don't believe it.
as a cellist, that is quit easy, i mea, this is difficult, but not too much

As a violinist I'm fascinated by how other instruments have way less notes than us.

Fire!! Metal!! Are the D and G strings tuned down a half step?
G and C strings are tuned down to F# and B respectively
How is this even possible
lol! It’s not! It’s a saying.
@@IliaLaporevcellistnono, I get the 40hrs thing, I mean the piece
lol Everything is possible in this world 😂
I could practice 40 hours a day, and take private lessons from Ling Ling, and not be able to play this.
Where does Ling Ling teach private lessons? I need it! Or is it secret? 🤫
Wow.
is the g string tuned differently because the a string is a 440 hz a, but the g string is a 440 hz f#
edit: I know understand the tuning.

Yeah!🤘🏻This is Kodaly: Cello Solo Sonata. On the end screen of this video (or video description) you can find the full performance!
I have never in my entire life seen two clefs on the same staff, how are you even supposed to read that?
It feels wrong to watch this for free. I mean you're so close to what jesus was trying to do
Im so confused. I think the C and G strings are tuned down a half step????

Why you haven't been hired by Berlin Phil yet is a mystery to me.
Because he’s too good for them :O
How long have you played the cello? You're so good!

Bro intenta tocar sinfonia concertante
Pqp! Essa é foda kkkk!
are you tuneda semi tone lower ? because at 2:04 it is written "C G D A" and we hear "B F# D A" and it is open strings
Yes exactly! This whole sonata had this Scordatura. So the two lower strings are tuned semi tone lower. A D F# B
@IliaLaporevcellist So, is there scordatura only for 2 strings, but everything is notated in a way that shows what the notes would have been had the same fingering been applied to a standard tuning? That's... either very convenient or very confusing... or both.

How did you practice 40 hours in one day?
What movement is this?
Third movement from Kodaly Cello Solo Sonata.
Very difficult, Kodaly is fiendish. I believe Xenakis Nomos Alpha is quite a bit more difficult than even this!
