Right theology gave me PEACE me during my operation and chemo journey in an almost death bed. I realize one can be in a christian church and yet held on wrong teachings, which can bring a lot of anxiiety, worry or fear. I was honestly asking “ Where is the miracle now?” or “What have i done wrong ?” Or “Maybe i need to sacrifice more” and lastly wnen in exhaustion I will say “Maybe i just need to neglect myself or be numb about circumstances and routinely go on what I do in church”. Its soooo much different to have right biblical theology. Peace, love and joy is what Im experiencing now though im in a difficult cancer journey now. If you read this do pray for me, my young children and my husband.
Thanks to Rev. Edmund Chan (and to all Christian leaders and pastors) for sharing God's word in Singapore. There are many Singaporeans who are materially wealthy but until now do not know who Christ is. I pray that Rev. Chan and the other Christian pastors, leaders and non-leaders will never tire in sharing the gospel.
Goodness gracious! What a horrible explanation of the potter and the clay that this pastor have given. Does he not know what the true teachings of the potter and the clay is really all about? Didn't the apostle Paul give us a sobering explanation about the potter and the clay in his epistle? Romans 9:14-24 - "For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.” Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens. You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?” But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?” Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor? What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?" Did God make a mistake when He created Pharaoh to be a "vessel of dishonour"? Did the potter (who's God in this context) accidentally "spoiled the clay" while He was fashioning the pot? If one simply sticks to Jeremiah 18 and skips Romans 9, they are not doing justice to the Sovereignty of God. Did God needed to tell us the reason why He declared, "Jacob have I loved and Esau have I hated."? All the Scriptures say is, "for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls" (Romans 9:11) Meaning to say, God's love for Jacob was unconditional and so too was His election. And vice-versa can be said of Esau in His hate. One piece of advice, Reverand Edmund, stick to the Word and not your own understanding. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones."
Sunny Chua What's your problem in not understanding what i have wrote with regards to this false teaching posted on this channel? What is it that you do not believe, let alone understand the Sovereignty of God in Romans 9? So, what you want to talk?
Chris Tan, your response show an arrogance of yr own understanding rather than that of Edmund Chan. The Potter can only shapes us to His perfection if we allow it. That is the dichotomy of our freewill given freely too by our Sovereign God.
You got it quite wrong in foundation brother. Hope this finds you till this current time. The distinction between Jacob and Esau is that those of whom God calls His own children (adopted through Christ) and the other, those who denied the birthright by choice by boldly sinning. Now His wrath can be said ruthlessness at some point of perspective to those who suffer this (sinners), are quite relevant but the truth is He shapes us till to the point you encounter Jesus leading to His love heals you to life from the callousness we got from our sins. Repenting in this time(of suffering) bro is not one time, and it would through this lifetime since we are in this world-- unfinished vessels. But He draws us near to Him that power runs true in us. GB brother.
Salamat po O Dios
