F***´s sake ! These were my teen idols , hahah, what a strange feeling to look at their physical appearance and then watching myself in the mirror ... shit ... this is not going to end right whether or not I refuse to be unhappy ...
KInda glad that Michael's decided to retire Swans again and reinvigorate them again in the future. The Glowing Man was phenomenal, but the sound they perfected has more than run it's course I think.
I couldn't disagree more. The Glowing Man is the refinement of Swans sound, not its tired downfall. This song in particular is the expression of a long synthesis between early punk influences, industrial and post-rock which Swans magnified to an unprecedented extent.
Yeah. I'm a massive fan - they're my favorite band, met them twice - but some of their tracks are descending into self-parody with how long, repetitive, and tuneless they're getting.
No. They've played all lengths and styles of music. Their songs have always been longer live, but the track after track of 20-minute songs on their studio albums is new.
Not really, they've played with some folk and now drone and bit of funk with this last pass of albums but it's always been very repetitive. I suppose you're right about the length but I quite enjoy it, I enjoy listening to their live albums so their newer longer songs don't seem like self-parody to me.
Oooh. Tasty. I hadn't heard any of the new goodies they're playing - will be seeing them at the end of the month in Amsterdam.

Proper dull. Shame really

Have you seen them perform this live? It does sound a bit dull on youtube but this song blew me away live
Weren't they always tuneless and repetitive and long? Kinda doubt you're a massive fan making those criticisms.
