Her English sounds like she may have moved to an English-speaking country as a child or may have attended British or American school in Taiwan, but I could be wrong. I am unsure about Taiwan, but in Hong Kong they still widely use English as an official language. Please don’t feel bad if your speaking skill is not at this level. I took the test 4 years ago before I enrolled in a university course, and back then my overall score was 7, with 7 in Speaking. Two months ago, I had to redo it to obtain the professional registration and my overall score increased to 8, with 8 in Speaking. I even briefly stopped speaking in section 2 because I felt like I run out of ideas, which may have affected my fluency score. Also, I have an accent which I never tried to get rid off. Remember, we can learn and progress every day by making continuous efforts. Another thing, Ielts is hard, even for a native speaker, heard this firsthand.

@@englishwithmanifest just follow the structure/pattern provided for each kind of essay. And use proper grammar. Difficult words aren't necessary.

Actually her responses are simple, but she have a good comfort level and flawlessly fluent.
Thank you Sir for your guidance. With a week of preparation, I scored 7.5 overall, 8 R, 8 L, 7.5 S, and 6.5 W. I didn't take any class or instructions from anywhere except for watching your videos and applying the strategies you teach here.
With your strategies, I could have scored better had I not been in ill health on my test day.

@@Aproudnurse I did nothing other than studying. I watched or listened to IELTS advantage all the time; be it while eating or traveling or even sleeping, I would just listen to Chris. And I practiced on my weaker parts; map on listening and t/f/Ng and matching heading on reading.

Good luck to everyone taking IELTS exam. This man knows his job, and you should listen him carefully what he says. I got overall band 7 just of listening his tips and tricks with preparation of 2weeks.

Thank you soo much Cris by just watching your videos for 1 week I was able to score good in my first attempt. I got 7.5 in Listening 7 in Reading 7 in Writing and 7.5 in Speaking, could have easily scored 9 in Listening and Reading as I was scoring 9 in my practise test but nevermind.Your 3hr video on speaking was of great help and specially the clear simple and minimal style of writing videos for both part 1 and part 2.Keep up the good work !!

From my experience if you have a good command of English and use it to communicate everyday at work don't even stress about it. I scored 8.5 in my speaking test. Just be confident during exam day and you will ace it. I didn't prepare much aside from getting to know what to expect in terms of questions asked and time I have to answer, then practiced with 3 sessions from the premium access practice tests they give when you book and pay for the exam day. All the best to everyone prepping.

Thank you for making all these videos. Took test on 14th, and got results today. L = 8.5, R = 9, W = 7, S = 7, Overall: 8. Didn't study much, only 7 days of practice for IELTS. I just followed your 'all in one' videos for all the modules and took only 3 practice tests from cambridge. I was nervous about speaking, so practiced lots of speaking topics with my friend for 3-4 days, approx 2 hours per day. And I used your mantra: Don't overdo tests, instead try to find out your weaknesses and focus on improving them. Did that only. I practiced only 3 writings, because I felt that I know what to write against a given topic, thanks to your video about 'the writing format', and all my writing outputs were of a similar band score. No matter how much I write, I cannot get more band score than what I am getting, because that's my general writing level. I really didn't try to use idioms or hard phrases or uncommon words. I wrote naturally. Mainly I targeted L and R, I knew these are with me, if I can score well here, it will save me... and that happened. Thank you again, from India. :)

@@KingLeon-gp4ph I have a habit of reading. I read daily english newspapers for the past 7-8 years. I also enjoy reading news articles online (rather than watching videos, I prefer reading). So, I developed a reading habit over time. I also have to read scientific journals regularly for my masters work. I don't read english story books though. You have to read a lot (really a lot) over a considerable amount of time to be able to get quick in reading. For me, I have to search scientific journals abstracts to find pieces of important information. So, it made my reading very fast and meticulous.
I love her voice, please give me more, I'm ready to listen to her every single day.

I had my speaking exam today and i think i did quite well. I was fluent for almost the whole length of the test, except maybe a few times when i took pauses just to think of the proper word. This was my first time giving an IELTS exam and i pretty much binge watched all your videos and they really helped me alot. thanks for making such informative and easy to understand guides. Hopefully I'll get a good band.

Hi Chris! I just want to thank you for all your efforts in making free IELTS practice videos for us. Before I discovered your UA-cam channel, I joined several IELTS classes and didn't really get the main point of IELTS itself, therefore I felt confused and discouraged, thinking that I'd never get an overall 7+. After I discovered your channel, my eyes were wide open, I watched every single video you posted and also diligently read most of your online articles (mainly the writing section). In approximately 2-3 months of studying IELTS from you, I finally can achieve an overall 7.5, L 8.0, R 7.5, S 7.5, and W 7.0! (7.0 for writing?? I can't believe myself😅)

Thank You So Much Chris, I got my results today (21 April 2024). I needed 6.0 for each section and 6.5 Total for my admission to University of Surrey, UK . All I did was, listened to your youtube videos and practised using the free online mock tests in British Council website. I got 7.5 overall ( Reading- 8.5, Listening- 7.5, Speaking- 7.0 and Writing- 7.0 ) Once again thank you so much. 🙏 🇮🇳 🇮🇪 🇬🇧

Hi Abin, is it just me or are the british council mock tests harder than the cambridge books?
Usually on the cambridge tests I can get 8/8.5 whereas I took a BC listening test today and got 6.5.
How did they sound to you? Also in relation to the exam you took

@@gianmarcoscandale314 Hello ! Well I took only BC mock tests. I was able to get 30-32 out of 40 in BC mock tests for L & R . Got almost the same score in actual test - 7.5 for L and 8.5 for R .
I have not joined any IELTS course now because some issues

I got overall 7.0 band in ielts academic and in all section (L-7,R-7,W-7,S-7), I did only 6-7 days of preparation. I could have performed better but I had no time as I wanted to clear just the eligibility criteria required for EU universities.
I didn't practiced that much but I followed your teaching methods. especially in writing and reading, never thought I would get this in first attempt.

This is to inform you guys if you follow this wonderful and really helpful content I’m pretty sure that you would get your desired Ielts band score. I bumped into this yt channel while I was going through the wall ,since then I started to prepare for my Ielts journey.
