I love how Sarina is not used even once in the combos. It’s so refreshing and a sign of change in the mk1 scene, at least for Shang Tsung and I couldn’t be happier.
I feel the same Sareena was overused in the first days that I cant play or see her anymore

While he has nice combos in old man form especially, I love how nobody is talking about how he's arguably the best zoner in the game thus far. Just the fact that you can mix it up as young shang zoning, and old with combos as well as mixing the two is insane. Essentially you're fighting 2 characters when you fight Shang. Been using him a week an a half, he's very underrated imo. Nice combos.

@@Raivazz Oh sweet! I'm watching yu're beginner to pro guide video for tips on morphing mid combos etc. That's something I haven't messed around too much with yet. I too also use L1 for kameo button. I kept accidentally hitting it when I'm blocking if I clip it with my finger, so I find that mapping a better option for me personally.
Nothing is better than when a spamming reiko learns this lesson I pick sub as kameo then just destroy they ass
@@bassdeaf2935 Haha 😄 true I had a Reiko and a Havik recently in kombat league both were just standing back and throwing stars and the waves havik ball thing so I just gave it back to them with Shang and Motoro 😁 One rage quit for a quitality and the other after he lost just left after the first match haha

This is nice! I’ve been wondering, does Shang’s 2 bar metered D,B,1 restand and can the opponent block a follow up hit after turning into them from the combo?
I’m wondering if you can do a full Shang combo, end it with the 2-meter injection/turn into them, and then immediately go into a combo with their character that they can’t block.
Yes but this works only in the corner as the timing is very tight! If you dont cancel the animation with a teleport then you cant continue the combo its just a restand
That Reiko combo has no business being that damaging with so few hits 😅 Good stuff

Man is there a trick to do the DB3 needle after the 4th kick because i always seem to miss it good combos keep them coming I also play Shang Tsung main
first 2 kicks are with 4, last two are F4 there is no trick just watch the gravity. the input time is tighter the lower they float ofc. experiment with timings and make sure you have clean inputs in command history
@Raivazz yeah that last one is though been trying for a while but ill eventually get it I like the sujinko spear I'm gonna try that one myself
Some of these were really good but honestly i feel like the best option for shang to extend damage on hit is just through scorpion ambush assist. Some of these combos were spending 3 bars to get a little over 40% while scorpion let's you do that for 0.
Those sector extensions were really good but for some reason i can never get the triple fireball to come out after a string. In practice mode i make sure i press everything "correctly" and it's still inconsistent. Any tips for getting it the tripple fireball?
It doesnt say most optimal combos I just like experimenting with stuff. As for tripple fireballs I can make a short guide bc Im getting this question a lot. Input shortcuts on, rest is off and medium setting. You have to input the string then dbf1 and you then swap stances after the string is about to end. Hope it helps :)
@@Raivazz I like experimenting too. I've been trying to find a way to extend the bnb with cyrax and have it be consistent but the helicopter likes to send them flying all over the place. If I find any good tech ill be sure to let you know. I will try your triple fireball tech. Thanks for the reply king, +1 sub.

I really really hope Shang gets some buffs. He is so hard to do anything with in the higher ranks like Demi god, God.
In terms of dmg he doesnt need buffs he struggles with close up pressure and wake up options Idk if they will change anything at all
@Raivazz I think his main problem is just the existence of Sub-Zero kameo. Negates virtually every special has. Ground spikes and Old Form's claw special are both considered projectiles as well.
This character has the potential to be the best in the game.

Why doesn’t Shang transform with EX DB3? How can you get the restand without transforming?
Teleport cancels the animation Lao and Motaro can do it :)

How do you do Morph young to old. In the Fowards 4 string. Its so hard. & the character is unusable without it. Please help. Going from young confirming into F4 121 old
You have to be really quick the real challenge is going from young F4 DL2 121 that's a thought one
This is probably one of the most inconsistent moves shang has. It sometimes bugs out and it won't allow you to swap forms. Even if you practice it to perfection it doesn't come out in some matches
i dial in f412 and then immediately press d+L2 to morph from young to old
found it better to dial in specials and strings to morph

What is the meaning of ex and j2 and is the D=down F=forward B=back 1=X 2=Y 3=A 4=B ?
Ex is when you amplify a special move using your meter. J is for Jump, and the numbers/directions are as you described
