I am three weeks into binge watching your channel and I’m thoroughly impressed with your process and attitude, your boat is certainly coming along to being a beautiful yacht.
It’s a shame you cannot have a shed full time. Keep up the great work as I’m sure you will.

I would put brackets on the stainless frame to hold the scuba tanks. Just a couple of loops and something to ratchet strap the tanks down so they won't shift around.

Ran into the same problem with on site welders when needing new brackets for my navigation lights on the bow and stern rails. First guy strung me along for a while and then no showed. The last guy charged me an arm and a leg, but I was ready to move on, and am happy to have it done. I am excited to see the performance of your solar array. Cheers from Seattle, WA, US

I find it amazing everywhere you go you find a workshop and good people to help you. Really happy the DIY is still a thing. I really like the two of you so I will still watch even when you get Athena to perfection and the DIY becomes repairs that every boat must perform. Keep living the dream! David, Mary, and family.

Very cool makerspace. I googled for one near me, & whaddyaknow, there is one! I bet it took you a lot less time to make the arch adapter in the workshop than you wasted phoning around for months to try to get someone out to the boat to do it & it will be such a relief to be able to move that to-do post-it to the done pile.👍🏻

Glad to hear that you're weathering the current spate of storms safely, it really is foul out there at the moment. I'm currently 75% through rebuilding my house and I really do get inspiration to keep going by your fantastic energy and attention to detail. For those pesky little stainless areas you can’t polish, you can passivated them with oxalic acid. More commonly found in Barkeepers Friend. I use it on my brewing equipment from time to time.

Nice job Mads and the typically British understatement must be rubbing off. Eunice was the biggest storm to hit the south of England in 30 years and storm Franklin is due anytime. Stay safe and fingers crossed that the High-Pressure forecast for Thursday gives you a solar panel weather window.

Very nicely done Mads and great that you found the Maker space - did they reach out to you? They are to be congratulated for getting this wonderful space together and equipping it so well, that is a massive achievement, especially in the South of the U.K. where land is uber expensive and rental costs high. It is has been disappointing to read some of the uniformed, arrogant and derogatory comments made by a few here in the comments section.
Other than that - spiffy video and progress, progress, progress - good luck with mounting the panels.😀👍⛵️

You could put springs or rubber disks or something similar between the heads of the bolts and the nuts on the extension piece. That should prevent them from ever coming loose.

Mads if you have a Dremel with the flexible wand the wand will fit inside the tubing to grind that weld. Having the flexible wand makes using the Dremel so much easier especially if you are working in tight or enclosed areas. I have a small shop but I'd love to have a shop like you are using available for my projects. That's an amazing public area with a lot of very expensive equipment.
The next time you need to weld a nut onto something try using a bolt to hold it centered in the hole without moving.
    See ya next week.

I'm legitimately surprised that you are the first sailing youtuber that I've seen use SunPower panels. I mean, sure, they come at a pretty spicy premium, but in a limited-space situation like on a boat, they are hands down the best option for getting as many watts as possible. Looking forward to seeing how the install goes, for sure!

Mads in the universal language means “ Man that can make almost anything “( not meant to offend anyone by using Man). But come on how many women would want to be called Mads lol. Glad to see ya’ll are doing well during the storms, hoping all stays well with no damage. That Makers Shop was a great idea from someone, wish we had something like that here where I live. Don’t feel the least bit bad about your welding I still only know how to stick weld and it’s been at least 40 or 45 years since I’ve done that. Best wishes to you and Ava. Stay safe and greetings from West Texas.
