Now this is one hell of a music room. Mega mega entertainment. You got like a turntable arcade going on here. I have five turntables myself, but I have a small apartment, and I can only hook up two stereos. One in the living room and one in the bedroom.
Nice to see a system with equipment that an average audiophile could afford. As a person who put together his system in the late 70"s, I can appreciate this collection of gear.
Very nice music room I love the old turntables with the picture discs on the wall what a creative way to display them!! Love the turntables all of them are beautiful! Really enjoyed the tour!
I really enjoyed seeing your collection and if you ask me I could never stop getting enough of seeing these great pieces of electronic gear they are great and please keep making the videos all the best
Never write "for the last time". It's always a pleasure to see such love and passion for sound and you have some great set up there. I enjoyed very much the tour! Thank you!
Thank you for the quick response, and the reference to your earlier video. Very helpful. I have a Dual 606 turntable from many years ago, that I was thinking about cleaning up and working with. It seems to be OK mechanically, maybe a new cartridge would be a good idea. I'm just not sure if it's worth the effort, however I do agree with you about the value of the vintage gear. Thank you again. I really enjoy your videos and learn something new from everyone. Mike
Wow! Your room is amazing! I can't believe you have enough room for 1700 LPs. I think I'm at about 400 myself and need some more space. lol. Thanks for showing!
Love your room man. That Kenwood TT is gorgeous and I can’t believe you picked up that Technics so cheap. Great find. I have an SL7 which is a lovely TT. Inspiring video dude
Mark is back in the house nice Kenwood turntable your room tour is excellent I love your vinyl wall display setup that Zappa sounds awesome. That Denon DP1200 is a dream turntable you got it for a steal I wish my turntable cut off when it get to the end. Awesome Pink Floyd, CCR and Beatles box sets. I call your Vinyl Hall of Fame walls. excellent wood ledges for you vinyl. Very Nicely done Mark.
Great to hear from you Lovell. Glad you found something you liked in this. I really like that auto lift feature as well. Makes leaving the room or forgetting that music's playing less worrisome. Thanks for the super comments.
very nice tour, some snobby audiophile may shun the pioneer integrated amps from past but I know they sound fantastic, I used to own the sa-9800, a roommate stole that amp when he moved out, then I found out later it was stolen from him, haha
Well alright. So great to see you back Mark. I actually sent you off a PM two weeks ago but I figured you have been busy. These are not some of the most beautiful turntables I have ever seen. Now I remember how some of these looked before they got the 707 overhaul. I remember when you got the Mitsubishi linear tracking one too. Not really audio? I always thought that it was a quality table. Even the Technics SL 10 is a beauty. I still have not broke down and bought a new one. I have looked and looked in Sal Army's and Goodwill's but no one gets rid of them anymore. They must all be on Craigslist and eBay. Just an amazing overview of a guy who has been listening to music as long as I have and who also shares my tastes in music. Thanks for sharing everything Mark. Lets share a few words soon. I will write to you as soon as I get some free time and my dad starts to get a little better. Rob/Boston
Sorry for such a late reply my friend. So glad you checked in. I got bored as I was off all week with a bad back so making the video kept me occupied for a while. As I'm not anxious to put myself in front of the camera just now, doing this narrative video seemed to be good therapy. I thought you were going to get that Project TT. I hope my ramblings about vintage equipment wasn't a factor. If you still like it, you should get it. I haven't heard of anyone who own one saying they regretted their decision. Very sorry to hear your Dad's not up to par. I sincerely hope his condition improves soon. Thanks again for sitting through this 30 minute fiasco. Take care of yourself.
The biggest problem with multiple components is deciding which one to use, or worse which one to rotate out of circulation for awhile. I totally wish I had a big room to have several systems set up.
beninski707 You Dang Right!!! You know room tours are my FAVORITE vc videos. I don't care if a person has 20 records or 20,000. There is just something so connecting to me about seeing how a person keeps there "precious" music lol.
im so wanting that creedence box. did ask about it once but was out of stock may look for it again. loving creedence atm. up around the bend being my fav track which i think is in this box :)
Hi ben! Stone resin Kenwood and maybe Denons may soon be gone if you'd compare a Realistic LAB-500 on sound quality - but since everybody knows it they're not the best in bargains. Koss don't need new caps, just run them as your main speakers and they'll turn good after a few weeks, just need care in matching electronics - caps dry out in those too. Pioneer look real good but sound best with own brand speakers.
I am glad I found this video... the other day I though I should pick up some vintage CD players on Ebay, but I felt kinda "guilty" about this pointless exercise. But if you can have 4-5 turntables, I can have 4-5 CD players :)
Sweet system, I haven't heard Koss speakers mentioned too much. Yours look like the 1010 or 1020's. Koss made killer headphones in the 1970's/80's. I have a pair of Koss Pro4X phones that still sound fantastic and are good for mixing. My open reel machine is a Teac X-3. Didn't know that Phase Linear ever made an expander?? Mine is a Pioneer RG-2, however the best were the DBX models (if you could afford them). Nice setup, well done. Good to hear people playin' Zappa on youtube. Always loved "Just Another Band from L.A.", although can't really pick a favorite Zappa LP. Like your Weasels logo!!
Marty Jewell Thanks so much for all the nice comments. Yes the speakers are 1020’s. I have since acquired 1030’s ( the big brother) but the 1020’s outshine them prob because the 1030’s need recapping. Thanks so much for tuning in.
Assuming you still live in the same home and this room still exists, my wife and I just came across your video today, and we are very impressed with your entire set-up: room, equipment, and music collection. It's wonderful. We love your passion as displayed by this incredible journey that you have assembled and shared in this video. Thank you for the share! BTW, can you tell us about the shelves on the wall holding individual albums. That look fabulous. Did you make them or can they still be purchased?
Hi there. Thanks so much for the awesome comments. Very glad you enjoyed my tour. I no longer live in that house and don’t have as large a space for all my stuff so it is now spread thoughout my new place. It’s not quite the same tho. I loved that room!! Anyway, thanks again for the kind comments.
As far as those shelves go, they were purchased as 8’ strips that I cut to 13” in length. I fastened them to wall with small “L” brackets. Once a record is in place they are covered up. It was cheap and easy to do.
Great to hear back from you. I am glad to read that you still have the equipment albeit spread about in different rooms. Might I ask do you know of any repair/restoration businesses that can repair 'vintage' Pioneer, Denon, and/or Marantz turntables? My wife and I are looking to buy one, but we would need someone to do the work on it. Many Thanks!
Excellent. Thank you for the explanation. easy enough for us to do, and we thought they looked terrific. Love to see the album covers displayed so prominently. That has always been one of the highlights of albums: the cover art and gatefold material.
I don’t know anyone in particular. I used to do a bit of restoration myself on mechanical issues. Was never any good at electrical though. Hope you find someone nearby. Vinyl collecting It’s an addictive hobby so be forewarned!! Lol!!
Danny- nice tour and overview of your vintage gear. Love the AKAI RTR. What about TWF (The Wife Factor), lol. What drives me nuts is the inconsistency of recordings, seems worse with digital iTunes how do you control for that with so much gear?
+Michael Mccoy Hi Mike. If you watch this video that I made a few years ago, I talk about what I use on my dust covers.ua-cam.com/video/nNsKNA1lrVU/v-deo.html . Thanks for watching!!
Wow what a nice variety. Curious about the turntable switches. I have 3 separate stereo systems and looking to add more tables.but am limited on plugins. Where did you them and what would you recommend?
What do you use to have all of your turntables connected to the Pioneer SA-8800 amp? Are you using a switch box or something like that? I'm trying to do the same thing, but run into ground hum using a switch box.. Thanks. Love your room!
+Danny Miller I love the reel to reel. Analogue sound is much more work than pressing play on you ipod but for me a lot more fun and engaging, whether it be vinyl or RTR tape. Also what could be cooler than having an oversized RTR spinning in your music room? Analogue for sure has it's drawbacks but still kicks ass over those MP3 downloads. Give me physical formats any day. Cheers!!
reel to reel it´s the best way to record on tape, but it was always expensive ,they still use it on the best recording studios, and today you can choose to record a reel in analog or digital mr.miller
Why not just frame only LP covers that you have in duplicate and do not intend to play? ... I would love to see a video of one of those vertical turntables playing a disc! ... that Quartz automatic turntable is very nice. Good to see you, and I hope you may make more frequent videos.
Actually Joe, I did think of this but I freqeuently like to change my displays up which is another plus for the ledges as opposed to the frames. Thanks for watching and commenting. Great hearing from you.
What I do is take the lps out of the covers I put into my frame and just put the record in a generic sleeve I picked up out of a dollar bin or buy a few 25 cent records at good will and just use those covers.
They are beautiful tables, the same turntables today minimum 2599.00 and upward if i only knew how to restore, but i do not have the talent or know how.
awesome tour! without being crass do you have any idea of how much all your stuff is worth? i am just getting back into vinyl after 20 years as i was quite suprised by the quality of sound,it was much better than i remembered! i hope to indulge in the hobby a little bit more in my retirement! thanks
+mapp47 Hey, thanks for watching. Like you, I had dropped vinyl for CD. It's been over the last 8 years that I've gotten back into it. I too was impressed at the quality of sound that a good vinyl record played on good equipment could produce. I had honestly forgotten just how good it could sound. There is also the nostalgia factor and the large physical aspect of it that make it attractive again. Also, I just love turntables. I honestly don't know the current value of my equipment but can say that the value is increasing yearly. As more and more people are getting into vinyl, the demand for good vintage equipment has gone up and as you can imagine the selling prices of this stuff. Have fun with the hobby and your retirement.
HI, thanks for the reply do any of the current crop of turntables interest you? with an eye on bang for buck? but i am sure with the stuff you have you would have no interest but if you have any suggestions please feel free! thanks tony
+mapp47 Yes there are a couple. If I was on a tight budget, I would look into the U-Turn Orbit store.uturnaudio.com/products/orbit-basic-turntable . It is a stripped down but highly praised belt drive table. I myself prefer direct drive tables with pitch control so if you have a bit more cash this would be one to consider. www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-AT-LP120-USB-Direct-Drive-Professional-Turntable/dp/B002S1CJ2Q
What, no Mini Disc recorders ? I have three in my electronics collection. lol. Just sayin'. At least I never heard one mentioned anyway. They're great for editing.
not everybody used the minidisc just because by the time it came out people in general still used cassetes, and if cassetes worked why spend money on other system ,in my house i have three md decks ,one i bought it because it was cheaper then a cassete deck with the same quality this in 95 not shure, and the other two were ofered to me by two friends that didn´t use them, and later in time because its failure ,there were mds to record at 50 cents each so i have hundreds and still today i use them because of its quality and never ending mds to record, and the edition of recordings are the main reason i still use them today or to listen to recorded lps from the 90´s with the same qualty as the day i recorded them this around 20 years ago.mr.chas i tottally agree with you, stay safe
I have Tha same cassette deck, what's your opinion on sound quality compared to reel to reel, and have ever recorded music on to VHS tapes, I heard it sounds better than both?
OG Wavy great questions and happy to give you my opinions. Reel to reel definitely has the edge over cassettes in sound quality. You can come reasonably close if you use type iv metal cassettes for recording. As far as VHS goes, yes I have done some audio recording on them in the far off past. If recorded on a good quality hifi vcr, the results sound amazingly close to the source material. Haven't actually compared to reel to reel but definitely better than cassette. Hey, appreciate you toking the time out to watch.
You said the Denon's dust cover was very scratched when you got it. How did you remove the scratches? Or did I misunderstand you and you simply acquired a new cover?
I am still using my Toshiba speakers, that I purchased from the 1980's. Not impressed with Polk (other than the hype). I have a Rotell CD player, found it to be better than my previous Marantz. But I do have some CD's that won't play on it (Joe Cocker @ Woodstock, but will play on my Pioneer DVD player. Question, what are Coz(?) speakers, how do you spell it??? Thanks for the video.
Ya know it’s these videos you don’t see anymore, no one shows off there stereo system or anything cause either they don’t have one or just don’t care. Most people have a Bluetooth speaker but this is the real stuff, I’m 14 and I’m probably the only 14 year old that cares about this stuff
All old school bring back some memories . Reel to reel was expensive now 100 bucks. I'd rather have digital. No more scratching and snap crackle and pop noises
I think the majority off people switched to Cds and are not going back. I'd be embarrassed to take out my turntable and start playing albums when I have cds and DVDs. Plus my own server with 100s of movies you tube . I'm in my 50's and happy I got caught up in the Wave. My 30 year olds playing rock that I love not that rap crap . I can't believe what they did to MTV.Buy the way the Muslims are coming ! The Muslims are coming !!
+Danny Miller Hey Danny, I'm 55 and stopped buying vinyl in the 80's like most because of the new technology which was portable and convenient. I even convinced myself that nothing could match cd sound until about 8 years ago. I heard that the interest in vinyl was on the rise and I was intrigued as I always had a soft spot for the "old" technology. I invested in a quality turntable and cartridge, quite a step up to what I had on the past, and purchased a few mint quality records from my past, ones that I also had on cd. I tell you that I was totally blown away as to how much better they sounded, I honestly didn't know that vinyl could sound this good. Not everyone can understand this but you should be able to being from the same age group as myself. Don't be embarrassed on pulling out the old TT. I look at it as being one up on the kids today who think mp3s sound better. In the last 8 years I have purchased over a thousand lps and maybe 10 cds.
+Danny Miller For me CDs are good for only one thing and that's for my car stereo. Other than that, I don't even play them. I'm not trying to convince you of anything. To each his own. This is just my humble take on it.
@@beninski707 This response is the heart of the matter, the epiphany that, all things being equal, vinyl sounds better than CD. Full stop. Noise/Pop/Clicks and reduced dynamic range be damned, there are higher considerations at play.
One request. Re-title the video equipment porn. Ok, I lied, two requests. Request two. Never show Snakes and Arrows again until I own a copy! Mark, I'll happily take a 30 minute check-in from ya every few months than nothing! So great to see the setup alive and well and minor/major changes you've made since the last run through. I had actually never seen the other side of the room before (the second setup), nice touch! Really nice to see so many of the turntable you've rehabbed with us over time as they stand (spin?) today. Awesome, just awesome. Full of love and lots of freakin' capacitors. What more do you need?! - Lj
Hey Lj. Thanks for checking in. I'm gonna show Snakes and Arrows all I want buddy. After all, I don't have Counterparts or Roll the Bones like somebody does!! FYI, there's a guy on the VC Facebook page that was so hell bent on getting ALL the Rush albums on vinyl, he recently paid $160 for Snakes and arrows and $200 for the original Vapor Trails. I have no clue what he paid for the Counterparts he acquired recently. I'd love to have them all but could never justify to myself those kind of prices. Hopefully Counterparts and Roll the Bones will be reissued at some point. Thanks for the great comments.
beninski707 That's what I'm waiting for, reissues! The new release of the s/t lp was too good to pass up although I have a few originals. Did you order it? Nice box, 200g pressing, fairly priced, a true Rush package. They've always been good about the vinyl thing, fingers crossed they acknowledge the demand for S&A, RTB and Counterparts! $200 for an original Vapor Trails? Why?!?! It sounds like mud! Ok, keep showin' it, it hurts but oh so good! - Lj
Quite a colletion you got 🙂 I had the JVC taperecorder and a Denon DP33. Nice to see that you kept your stuff.
Now this is one hell of a music room. Mega mega entertainment. You got like a turntable arcade going on here. I have five turntables myself, but I have a small apartment, and I can only hook up two stereos. One in the living room and one in the bedroom.
Fantastic tour, Mark... always love seeing your tables and how nice they look.
Thanks Kris. Looking forward to your equipment video!
Never get bored of these! Incredible I am impressed and happy to see you enjoying the current set up!
I love watching other people's room tours as well. Thanks for watching.
Very good taste, I have seen many a collection and some were horrible. But this has class bravo bravo...
I'd have to invest in some night security here watching that kind of equipment. I'd never be able to sleep at night.... Absolutely beautiful set ups 👍
Thanks Derek. The thought had crossed my mind. Lol
Never write "for the last time". It's always a pleasure to see such love and passion for sound and you have some great set up there. I enjoyed very much the tour! Thank you!
Daniel Beller Thanks Daniel. Your thoughts are much appreciated!!
Great room and selection of vintage audio equipment. Awesome job!
Leo Lion Thanks for watching!!
the little dual turn table is adorable, that would be a perfect first time TT for a youngster.
Thank you for the quick response, and the reference to your earlier video. Very helpful. I have a Dual 606 turntable from many years ago, that I was thinking about cleaning up and working with. Thanks Chris. I love all that vintage stuff you have on your channel as well.
when i see a fellow zappa fan my heart instantly goes out to them.
Wow! Your room is amazing! I can't believe you have enough room for 1700 LPs. I think I'm at about 400 myself and need some more space. lol. Thanks for showing!
Super jealous of the score on the reel to reel, also love that Zappa!
Mark, your room is awesome!!! Gotta love it!!
Thank you!! I think you've seen all 3 lol!
Love your room man. That Kenwood TT is gorgeous and I can’t believe you picked up that Technics so cheap. Great find. I have an SL7 which is a lovely TT. Inspiring video dude
Amazing stuff there :) wish I had enough money to make myself a real music room with lots of gear like that
Awesome room, congrats. Thanks for sharing
Awesome room and setup. Pygmy Twylyte for the win.

When I bought my Audio Technica Lp120 I should of did more research that's a great option the record automatically shuts off.
All I can say is Wow!!!!!!! nice setup
I lost count on the turntables... so cool!
Frank Zappa is a good start!
The turntables I can't relate to but the music (Bowie,Gabriel etc) is great!
Nice video!
Nice job. Keep up the finds
Love the room tour.Looking Good man!!!!Also love the collection of turntables.
Thanks Richard! Glad you could tune in!

my hat off to you my friend i have never seen a system like you have i have a great system also but you put me to shame keep up the outstanding work
BEAUTIFUL!!
Thanks for watching and commenting Danny.

Oh no my friend...your room tours never get old!! I love how much you have changed that area "around the corner". Very nice my friend.
For some reason I thought you might tune in Brandon. Thanks so much for the kind comments.

Hey Dean. It's in stock at oldies.com and on sale as well for $32.95 plus shipping. Their shipping is cheap BTW

You have an impressive collection there.
Lovely room, keep it up!
Good grief, someone can get lost down there ! Crazy cool thanks
Great setups
New subscriber. I love these room tours. I'm working on a simple one.
+Richard Riley Thanks for watching Richard. I subbed your channel. Will be looking forward to seeing your tour video.
You better get an REVOX linear turntable ( german) for a complete T-T collection .... nice stufff
Stereo Phonic sounds good.
Excellent!
luv your music room.
I thought I had too many record players at 3. I guess I'm wrong. Lovely room. I only speak out of jealousy.
Edward Thanks for the comments!!!

sweet set up. Where is all the Quad equipment?
Thanks Oldstuff Man. No Quad, would be nice to have though if I had room, Lol!!!
Great man cave, saddened not to see any Spongebob cushions though ;).
How do you restore the plastic dust covers on your turntables? Great collection.
Mike

Very nice, but there's one thing obviously missing with all those turntables & records.... Where's the Record Cleaning Machine???
You are so right. The RCM came later. I made this video on it. Thanks for watchingua-cam.com/video/JNraODyfnnk/v-deo.html
Well it's nice that you went over your audio system but you didn't explain exactly what you have or the model numbers.
nice rush snakes and arrows on display
Amazing setup! A question about the Denon DP 1200. What was the speed issue with your 1200? And how did you fix it?
That's a cool place!
Samuel Barr Thanks. Wish I still had it. Moved to smaller place last year.
Oh wow, I hope you kept your equipment and records.
now THATS a set up!!!
Thank you Trish, It keeps me busy.
Other noise reduction and dynamic range expander is DBX
Wow what a nice variety. Curious about the turntable switches. I have 3 separate stereo systems and looking to add more tables.but am limited on plugins. Where did you them and what would you recommend?
cool, I like your record players :) how many vhs do you have
What do you use to have all of your turntables connected to the Pioneer SA-8800 amp? Are you using a switch box or something like that? I'm trying to do the same thing, but run into ground hum using a switch box.. Thanks. Love your room!
How do you like your reel to reel? What are the pros and cons thanks
Cheers!!
Thank you
reel to reel it´s the best way to record on tape, but it was always expensive ,they still use it on the best recording studios, and today you can choose to record a reel in analog or digital mr.miller
Just beautiful
Yummy vintage
I luv my denon turntable, I have a denon dp55m. I have been thinking of having it recapped. Did you recap yours?
They are beautiful tables, the same turntables today minimum 2599.00 and upward
if i only knew how to restore, but i do not have the talent or know how.
awesome tour! without being crass do you have any idea of how much all your stuff is worth? i am just getting back into vinyl after 20 years as i was quite suprised by the quality of sound,it was much better than i remembered! i hope to indulge in the hobby a little bit more in my retirement!
HI,
thanks for the reply do any of the current crop of turntables interest you? with an eye on bang for buck? but i am sure with the stuff you have you would have no interest but if you have any suggestions please feel free!
Sorry Don't have that. Wouldn't mind trying one out some day. thanks for watching and commenting
not everybody used the minidisc just because by the time it came out people in general still used cassetes, and if cassetes worked why spend money on other system ,in my house i have three md decks ,one i bought it because it was cheaper then a cassete deck with the same quality this in 95 not shure, and the other two were ofered to me by two friends that didn´t use them, and later in time because its failure ,there were mds to record at 50 cents each so i have hundreds and still today i use them because of its quality and never ending mds to record, and the edition of recordings are the main reason i still use them today or to listen to recorded lps from the 90´s with the same qualty as the day i recorded them this around 20 years ago.mr.chas i tottally agree with you, stay safe
Love youre music stuff. Nice collection of amps and turntables. You have polish roots? Cheers from Poland man.
+prawy85 Hey Poland Man. Thanks very much for the nice comments. Sorry no Polish roots though.
Sir, thanks for showing off the Creedence Clearwater Revival singles.
Nice But one question when you go into that room how do you decide which turntable to listen to?
I remember my Dad had a pair of Koss headphones
The gentleman in the video referring to his Kenwood turntable as
The Rock.
How did you get the shell to look so good on the Denon? You mentioned it was so scratched up.
Envious of your garard ,have you got the dual going yet?
I am still using my Toshiba speakers, that I purchased from the 1980's. Not impressed with Polk (other than the hype). I have a Rotell CD player, found it to be better than my previous Marantz. But I do have some CD's that won't play on it (Joe Cocker @ Woodstock, but will play on my Pioneer DVD player.
Question, what are Coz(?) speakers, how do you spell it??? Thanks for the video.
Sorry for the late response. They are Koss speakers from 1978.
AWESOME !!!
+Marcelo Gonzalez Thank You!!!
Toneyanne is my
number one turntable.
+Danny Miller Whose gonna have more fun, you showing your friends your digital collection or me showing my vinyl. Just Sayin'.
I also have a Dual CS 5000!
Thanks for the great comments.
beninski707
That's what I'm waiting for, reissues! - Lj
BioCYTE1 Yes I did a few days ago. Really looking forward to it!
Like Zappa a little?
