- We bought a copy of the Yu-Gi-Oh Next-Gen Dueling Kit from 2011! It released with Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal to help new players learn about Xyz Summoning! Now Chris is challenged to take it to a local Yu-Gi-Oh tournament and try to win at least one Duel! Can he do it?

Honestly I was really sleeping on Chris. Having a video with him at the forefront really let his personality shine.
This Video was so nostalgic.
I remember when i was 12 and was in the last 4 on every tournament on locals back in the day with my old selfmade quickdraw plant deck (without bulb cause it was to expensive)

My original beatdown deck when I first started going to tournaments was so bad, that after I lost one duel my opponent built me a new deck.
You to? This dude gave me his battlin boxer deck back when they were meta in late 2013-2014 good times.
@@Gamerhobo420 just shows that there are still good people in the Yugioh community. :) I don't even remember all the cards in the deck, but I do remember, and still have, the Elemental Hero Heat, and Elemental Hero Lady Heat he gave me (and that was back when they were still fairly new).
yeah a guy fully rebuilt mine big time, ive made some modifications to it since, but that was cause of new support cards

cuz its my goodluck charm. i even tell them its different sleeved. so i cant sleight of hand it. no its not an extra. etc etc. and most judges so far just roll with it.

So i know nothing about yugiho but Id love a series where he start with a starter deck and every episode he gets to buy 3 pack + the ones he get from the tournament and upgrade his deck over time with these pack.

Sealed Only Baton Pass? Every episode has a different APS member choosing what product to open and piloting the deck at locals for the week.

One of challenges like this are fine tbh but not as a series, that's super saturated and overdone.
Something that would be cool to see, seeing as this has sparked my passion for zexal back up, is for the aps team to have a duel tournament using decks they have each built based around there favourite number cards and that they have to at least win one game with there respected number as a side challenge.
I swear I have watched more videos from these guys than the amount of times Mokuba has been kidnaped

this reminds me of stuff we do in Gwent, like trying ridiculous or thematic strategies. sometimes they'll surprise you and you can use your knowledge of the game to win anyway. nice video.

It's been a long while since I've touched a yugioh card.. but I remember my deck destroying kids back in the day. Man eate r bugs, Berserk Gorillas,Call of the Haunted.. went full toon at one point and ate my way through a whole tournament just eating people life points directly! The good ol days 🙏

It'll be awesome that this become a series, but with all the other members also, idk next time alec plays, and whatever they get some packs they can include the card they pull to the next deck, or even put them in on the deck they use, I think there are a lot of possibilities here
legit one of your best vids, consider doing this in-house with all of team aps using their meta-decks against one of you using one of these kits. That way we could watch the duels, since you probably had to cut because noone wanted to be on cam. But the duels would have been the funniest part.

As happy as I am to see another video, I must ask, why does Chris not have a mask? Has Covid been controlled there?
The mask mandate was lifted, so shops and stores get to choose if people still wear mask or not.
I do have one though. Just don’t wear in recording parts for audio reasons

When your tempted to try and get back into Yugioh but you don’t you barley understand the XYZ system let alone anything after that. (All my cards are from gen one (the original Yugioh maybe with some GX cards)
Same dude, the last Yu-Gi-Oh gen that I played was the Synchro summon and all the next gens that came after was no longer appealing to me.

Armed Dragons and Horus was my favourite deck to play before Chaos Dragons came out
I suggest you try the Sacred beasts structure deck, I have always wanted to see if you could take one of those and win even one match.
You did better than I expected. Though next time you try a challenge like this: Maybe build a deck from 3 copies of the Starter Deck. That might be interesting to see.
This would be a great series for him. He could also use random packs too make a deck he must use in a tournament.
Man seeing this gave me a huge sense of nostalgia. I may not be that old but this deck was my first yugioh deck and is what got me into yugioh so this video really made me smile.

I don’t know why or how, but this video made me want to finally get into YuGiOh. Never tried it before; was always a Pokémon and MTG player. But this made the game look really fun and easily accessible. Suppose I’ll give it a shot after all these years!

You guys should do color themes decks so if you are doing blue you can only use cards with blue in the art or name and same thing with the other colors.

I remember when I was in high school (2007) I made myself a deck composing of warriors. One of my wincons was to summon 2 marauding captain and a cyber tutu to attack them directly and slowly chip at em. My spells and traps were mostly negate traps and spell to support the marauding captains. I remember there was even a game I used two xing zhen hu to limit their spell/trap usage with two marauding captain on the field.
We didnt know tournament rules back then when it comes to limited cards etc we just built decks with cards we had from randomly buying packs/ starter decks.

2011....man. That is about the time my friends n' I all stopped playing. Synchos and XYZ summons came out and it was like a whole different game. I used to run Monarchs way back in the day and my friend rolled up with Zombies just steamrolling us.

You should keep this deck and continue to play with it in tournaments and see how long it takes to incorporate cards from prize packs into the deck until the deck becomes usable, while still keeping a decent amount of the original cards
