Watching Tyler1 get excited for Onyxia reminded me of my first time doing raids in Everquest and WoW. There just isn't a feeling quite like it. It feels foreign, exciting, and scary af.
Yeah dude, main tanking Onyxia might be super simple on paper but when it's your first time doing it that shit gets your blood pumping like nothing else.
Currently 14 days into MC, Ahmpy’s relevelled his 5th account to 60 and they are still not fighting ragnaros yet. Truly a cinema content guild. DOPA DOWN!

Higher heart rates during physical activity/stress are normal for athletes. They also have lower resting heart rates normally. I am surprised it didn't reach 200.

Reminder that Onyxia is immune to taunt.
Rogues vanishing, hunters feign death and priest fade will assist with the aggro management entering phase 3.
Phase 2 fireballs wipe the target's threat - you want this to be healers to keep them safe for phase 3.
Onyxia being in the air for so long, ironically, trivialises this fight.
It would trivialize it for people who know all of what you said, a lot, if not most of the raid, doesn't know it.

The hate is crazy. Almost everyone made mistakes. People didn’t take aggro. People didn’t heal. And still no one would have died if Poke knew how to click a limited invulnerability potion. The pressure is real and things don’t happen perfectly.
@@ethanhand8425 Buddy.... I've watched a fair few of her dungeons and have seen so many nearly die when she's curling her hair with one hand and reading chat whilst being LoS to her tank on 20% health.
By not taking raid (or healing) seriously, other people have just had their bonus wow hardcore income reduced.
There is no hate at all... she needs to get better. Go SIMP somewhere else!

Every warrior roached on phase 3
Yeah that transition to phase 3 was a huge fail on ALL the Warriors.
Lol, first of all I thought Soda did a TERRIBLE job at explaining the fight.
Also they were like "so unlucky phase 2 took so long" but they actually would have wiped if it didn't take this long seeing how phase 3 went. They had soooo much luck she didn't breath a single time in phase 3, like insane amount of luck.
But yeah warriors failed miserably. Not a single one of them popped zerk rage at the transition which is insane.
Nah, the phase 2 bugged the f out. Ony literally was in the air until it wiped the threat of the last warrior and then landed, leaving healers with 18k threat lead with no way to remove that threat, becaue petri is banned, and even if u pop recklessness and spam execute, you kill the boss at this point way before you get aggro.
@ I don't think I saw any Priest using Fade to lower threat. I could be wrong though. Plus if they had threat meters they should have seen they were to high on threat, used Fade, and stopped healing instead of killing themselves. It takes awareness by everyone. But still, I think the Warriors failed more than anyone.
@@chillsdale I did you a favour by googling what Fade actually does. It temporarily reduces threat by set amount, key word temporarily, but after fade ends, you gain it back and its only like 700 or 800, good in dungeons and prehaps trash in raids but absolutely useless during Onyxia boss fight.

Soda says the other tank specs are useless but I will say it is almost always safer on Ony to have a 2nd tank trying to maintain the 2nd or 3rd spot on threat just in case something happens to the MT. Third offtank can handle whelps as needed for the dps if you have an offtank around already.
It's also a good idea for rogues to vanish and hunters to Feign Death on start of P2. Takes them out of the targeting for fireballs almost completely which lets the healers, and other casters get hit, which will wipe their threat. Fireballs go to the highest threat target and wipe that target's threat. It's actually better if your healers get hit here for that reason.
It's not a bug it's just people still don't actually know what triggers phase 2 to end. People just theorise it's based on her health percentage. The same thing goes for the deep breath. Sometimes she spams it in phase 2 and sometimes she doesn't even cast it once. No one really knows why. Solved game btw.

This wasn’t the tanks fault btw it was just they got unlucky and the RNG gods made it so phase 2 lasted long (it wasn’t a bug) which meant healers were healing so much they had little mana and huge threat that none of the 4 tanks or warriors could climb on the meter to tank it

Why didn't TYLER use Cloudkeeper legplates when Onyxia landed? Wasn't that the whole point of using those pants? Or did he use them earlier and I missed it.
He used them at the start of the fight, his T button. 15min CD.

@@kitchensnake649 He means on the nameplate for threat. Tinythreat is good if you look at it. Looking at details mid fight is something you should never do unless you're a RL, and on HC I can argue looking mid fight wont help much. Having it on the nameplate - thats always in your FoV is much better. However, I do agree that for classic you can still just use tinythreat.

Ahmpy was the only death that was actually just his fault imo, he doesn't taunt enough and is just bad at tank.

T1 is bad tank for sure, just like Soda. But you're wrong about deep prot. He should absolutly be deep prot here, none of the warriors have a decent enough gear to go fury prot efficiently at this stage. You see Soda going 5%hp on trash pull just cause he wants to fury/prot so bad, that's ridiculous. And on a side note all warriors did a miserable job at Ony. None of them popped zerk rage at the transition to avoid fear and take the threat from healers. People say it is not an easy transition but it is. Zerk rage > 2 sunders while everyone is feared and you got aggro no problemo
@ Tyler absolutely had more than enough gear to go furyprot, saying he doesnt when he was never once in danger of dying to Ony is pure cope. Ony touched down at 14:32 and his HEALER who pulled aggro died at 15:00 . If a main tank cant get aggro off of a healer for nearly 30 seconds, there is something very, very wrong. You go deep prot for survivability, and that was NOT an issue at all. Useless tank.

raid lead error. These are not top level players that can pump enough damage to skip p2. They needed to be prepared to handle the threat shit show after threat wipes in p2. Watch meter, call everyone but the highest threat warrior stop damage as she lands. Healers don't always show on the meter properly so they need lip AND petri key bound if that fails. P1 tank is not expected to ever get the boss back in a full 40 man onyxia if they get fireball threat-dropped in p2.
This kill was a bit fucked b/c of how long she hung in the air, but a warrior with firewater on can usually jump below her in p2 and get melees in and use that to edge to the top of the threat meter for p3.
