I just purchased a La Cornue CornuFé 110 Gas/Electric range based on your excellent video tutorial series, and your excellent advice on using the convection mode. Glad to come across this series. ✌️🇨🇦
Thank you for letting me know that my various videos have been helpful and congratulations on your new range. The CornuFe is not only beautiful it is a wonderful range to cook with. Because the ovens are smaller pay attention to timing and temperature especially when baking. Rather than opening the oven door set the timer in advance of the recipe time to check the progress. I appreciate your comments and wish you all the best with your cooking.
i have a new oven that includes convection baking*, air fryer, & self cleaning features. is there a cookbook or manual available that I can utilize. thak you for all the directions given to me.
Thank you, I am happy you found this explanation helpful. Convection ovens are amazing tools so we might as well benefit from the great features!. Larissa
Thanks for your guidance 🙏 I just bought a KichenAid range ( Very bad service) No manual user guide. Now because of you I can use my oven.Thank you very much.
@@robertknight4672 I have not seen any electric wall ovens in the US with exposed elements for many years. Concealing the element provides greater internal oven capacity and helps prevent food from boiling over in the oven making it easier to clean.
In my country all the convection ovens have only 2 heating elements... the top and the bottom...I want to know will I be able to bake cookies on multiple baking wracks?
If there is no fan at the back of the oven then I am sorry it is not a Convection oven. You can still bake cookies on two racks using the Bake mode, but you will have to switch the rack positions halfway through baking to achieve even results.
@@convectionkitchen im guessing it has a fan at the back but only the top and bottom cooking elements, so its convection but not "true" convection like its often called
@@Langor True convection is when only the heating elements around the fan are engaged, the the heated air is distributed by the fun. If you use Convection Bake or Convection Roast mode then all the heating elements are engaged, but in Convection Roast they cycle with maximum intensity.
All of sudden things are very close to burning. I did bread the other day, no wasn't done at estimate time. 5 minutes later damn thing was done but burnt. That's a first. I made some last week and it burnt also. All of sudden things are burning. So I thought my husband messed with the racks on me. But he didn't.
Well it's hard for me to guide you because I don't know the mode and temperature you were using. Please refer to the video that reviews how to bake on multiple racks using the Convection Bake Mode. If you didn't reduce the recipe temp by 25 degrees that could be the problem, also they type of pan you use can make a difference.
I have a question what if you’re just baking like for sweet potatoes what temperature on convection would you cook those I have them wrapped in tinfoil
Hi Claudia, If you chose a Convection mode to bake a sweet potato, wash it snd pierce it in a few places. Place it on a small rimmed baking tray and bake for 40-50 minutes until soft. Depending on your oven use Convection or Convection Bake 350. No need to wrap in foil, Convection will preserve the natural moisture. Hope it works well out well. Larissa
@@convectionkitchen thank you yes I know how to bake a potato in a regular oven. My question was to use the convection oven. Do you still have to bake it as long? I know that you put the heat down 25° from what she would in a regular oven, but does it speed up the process?
Hi! Please help me. My new oven is this type of oven. I tried to baked chiffon cake and it always fail. In my traditional oven is ok. Please help me what is the best temperature and time for chiffon cake. Thank you so much🥰
If your oven has a Bake mode, just use that mode and the recipe temperature. When it comes to baking the traditional Bake mode can give better results when baking a light delicate cake like this. Convection is ideal for baking several racks of cookies and roasting meats, poultry fish and vegetables. I hope this helps, Larissa
Hello Susan, Yes you can use the Convection Bake mode or the regular Bake mode. Follow the directions on the package but if you bake it in Convection and check it after 30 mins and if it is getting brown on the edges drop the temp by 25 degrees for the remainder of the cooking time.
Well, you must be looking at the wrong recipes because recipes that I come across both in books and on packaging of products ALL have fan oven temperatures on them.
In The UK and Australia I notice that recipes typically provide a temp for Gas, Electric or Fan but not here in the US. Also fan does not specify Convection Bake or Convection Roast and those modes are typically found on most ovens here. Always good to understand the tools you are cooking with.
Do you know the setting for bacon in a convection oven? Temp? Roast? Bake? Convection? Toast? Plus my de’longhi oven has different levels. It doesn’t say in the manual and de’longhi won’t respond :(
I don’t have experience cooking in this oven but here is what I would recommend. Line the pan with foil shiny side down and ideally place the bacon in a rack resting in the pan. That way when the fat has cooled you can just throw the foil away. If you keep the bacon fat then skip using the foil. Cook the bacon in the Bake mode at 375 degrees, however it’s important to pay attention if a lot of fat is rendering lower the temperature to 350. I would avoid the Broil and Roast modes because they are more powerful and you could end up with rendered fat all over your oven. I hope this is helpful, Larissa

Just got an oven with Convection and I'm super excited to use it....but first I must learn! This looks like the perfect place to do just that!
I hate them. They blow dry your food and often have noisy fans. = /

I am from Asia, when you say reduced by 25 degrees, is that in Fahrenheit or Centigrade?
@@viewme123able
Well both actually but only for baking. So 375 F becomes 350 F which is 176 C.
I hope that helps…..
Do any modern electric ovens still have an exposed bottom element?

Yes I am using Fahrenheit, but the temperature reduction is only necessary for baking.
