If you are attempting to jailbreak an MC iPod touch 2nd generation, then this jailbreak method will not work with it.
my ipod 2g stays on thhe white screen and then it goes into the normal menu

Are you attempting to download an entire folder of many Redsn0w versions, because Redsn0w shouldn’t be big enough to exceed the quota.
My 3GS which I've downgraded to 4.1 is not detected in DFU mode, even though it's in DFU mode. Followed the instructions. Running it in Compatibility Mode for Win 7. Nothing. What should I do?
Try running Redsn0w in compatibility for Windows XP Service Pack 2 or an older version of iTunes.
@@TheiTunesFanboy iTunes 10 returns error 127 on Windows, iTunes 9 crashes. Imma keep ya updated. Sorry for my bad explanation, it crashes on Windows 11.
Edit: iTunes 11 has no Apple Mobile Device Support, so I can’t restore to the custom IPSW. I had an old MacBook ( a Polycarbonate one that I could use) but, sadly, it doesn’t work anymore. Tried it in 3utools, but it doesn’t work. It says smth with SHSH. Pretty hopeless.

You must reattempt the jailbreak, as that is what I did when I encountered that issue.

Something with Redsn0w is broken; you must reattempt the jailbreak if you want to.

If you are on an MC iPod touch 2nd generation, then it will not work with Redsn0w. Otherwise, just try again.

You can use iTunes 10.6.

It might, but that is out of my area of expertise.

im using the iphone 3g on ios 4.1.2, using an original apple cable and using O.9.6rc16 but it doesnt wanna do step 3 and its currently stuck at a white screen.
What is step 3?
@@TheiTunesFanboy Got it to work, i meant stage 3 sorry. When you press next on redsn0w it will upload stage 1 and it will wait for reboot and it uploads stages until 3 or 4.

Yes! First, try entering DFU mode alongside the instructions on Redsn0w.

If you get error 1015, then you can use iREB or 3UTools to exit Recovery Mode. If you are jailbreaking before activating, then that might be why you are losing signal.
I am getting the error that my 2G touch is a newer (fixed) model, and it says it is a PC model in settings

@@AlaaBenMahmoud You must have accidentally entered Recovery Mode; just hold down the power and home button until the screen goes black for awhile and the Apple logo appears. This will reboot you into normal iOS, in which you should retry entering DFU mode.

Yes, though it might not work because Redsn0w is an old tool that was designed with Windows 7’s security.

No, because Redsn0w is a 32-bit application, and MacOS Catalina and higher do not support 32-bit applications.

Yes, but you have to create a custom iPSW to enter DFU mode that way. To do that, go into Redsn0w > Extras > DFU iPSW, and follow the instructions from there to enter DFU mode without a working power button.

1) Is your iPod touch 2nd generation an MC model? To check, look at the back of the iPod. Is the storage capacity printed in small text or large text? If it is small text, your iPod is the MC model and must be jailbroken via Greenp0ison instead.

You are either on Windows 8 or higher where it is finicky, you may need an older version of iTunes despite what I said in the video, or you should simply just retry.
