We have been homeschooling for 4 years now. One of the best decisions we’ve made. We use Masterbooks. My 10 and 7 year old are done school by lunch. My 16 year old is finished within 4 hours. It’s made our Christian faith even stronger. ❤️

The biggest thing that makes homeschooling hard is if you try to replicate the “school” at home. It makes it so much harder. You have to tweak things to work for your family

We started off sending our children to Christian school but now we have 7 children, homeschooling has become a more affordable option. I was really unsure how homeschooling would work for our family but it has become a blessing. Wonder if I should be vlogging our journey? 😅

I homeschooled my boys from 4 thru 12 th . It’s a job for sure but could be flexible with your channel . I loved all those years I spent with them ❤. They both graduated from college this past year and graduated with honors so not too bad for some homeschoolers lol . I put 100 percent into their education and you would too ! You are a great mom so whatever you decide will be right for your family .

We started homeschooling our daughter in 6th grade, and it has been the best decision I have ever made. We started out using Abeka. It’s a great curriculum, but a struggle to do at home. There are some great curriculum choices that you could do as a family, which would be less stressful. I think you have to make the best decision for your family.

Big fan of homeschooling over here. The good and the beautiful is a great curriculum, is very through but less teacher intensive than Abeka, and look into a local homeschool co-op. 🥰

We have always homeschooled and have a 1st, 7th and 11th grader. We are part of an academic co op that meets every week where they take academic classes as well as the fun things such as christmas party, valentines exchange, science fair ect. We have about 65 families. One thing I would encourage you is dont feel like you have to duplicate public school at home. Make it your own. Praying for clarity ❤

I have been homeschooling for 4 years now, I absolutely love it, wouldn’t have it any other way, but I’m not going to sugarcoat it, it’s also very hard sometimes, especially if you have multiple children. But the best part is I can teach my children to help with so much chores, we’re always working together, cooking, baking, cleaning, laundry ets, it’s so much fun. Definitely a huge blessing for our family.

Here in WV the state had a scholarship called the Hope scholarship for families that want to send their kids to private school.
It’s 4,500 per child. You just have to been enrolled at least 45 days in public school
Or public virtual. Good thing for families.

But I love seeing you two together in a video. We also homeschooled our children. All 4 I have now graduated 3 of the 4. It’s not for everyone and it takes a lot of dedication from the main one that is doing the teaching. Good luck! And great video!!!

When you have more than 2 kids, having a 1 kid day is definitely a break 😂 we have 3 and rarely get alone time. We have been homeschooling for going in 5 years, I've used Abeka math, but we use other curriculum as well. It's worth looking into other curriculum if you think Abeka is too much. (I'm currently in love with BJU which is Christian based as well). I can typically get thru with school in about 2 hrs with both my 9yo & 7yo. And older kiddos can start working on their independent things as well which saves time. Do what works for your family! I agree there's no right or wrong, everyone has their own way and I've worked beside people for a long time and never knew they were homeschooled vs public school vs private school. Something to keep in mind. 🙂 praying for clarity for you guys!

We love The Good and The Beautiful and Easy Peasy for homeschool. I have heard great things about Abeka and I may incorporate that when my younger kiddos are kindergarten age. Mayo only on my burger, but my hubby and my kids like mustard. Yes to salt on the watermelon. Our kids are divided on that one. Sometimes they like salt, other times they do not. Hubby is 100% NO to salt on watermelon. 😂 We recently saw a TikTok about putting lemon juice on watermelon. We tried it and hubby LOVES it. I was not a fan and will stick to salt. 😂

@mamallamaandthelittles Homeschoolers often get scholarships. My oldest two children took (tuition-free) dual enrollment college courses at the local community college while in high school. My oldest daughter won a leadership college scholarship from Chick fil A. She also earned two years of college for free by taking four dual enrollment courses in high school. My secondborn became a Marine last year and will receive the GI bill. There are so many incredible opportunities for every student, regardless of where he or she is educated for high school.

Definitely love salt on watermelon 🍉! Our children went to public school and they did great. My niece went to a private school and did great also. Just pray about it and I believe God will lead you both on what to do. Our children was in baseball and one in cheerleading we just had to make the time because they loved it. But travel ball is a very time consuming thing and gets very expensive in my opinion. My son made all stars every year and that was the only time we had to travel which was mainly local towns near us. I would definitely do that again. I loved watching him play and our daughter was cheerleading and we loved that also. So glad to see Ethan again!

Not sure if your private school is attached to your church which could be tricky but my aunt homeschooled with church friends. Each mom taught certain things to a small group/all the kids and then switched off so they didn't teach all day every day. They'd pull in people with special skills- science person taught chem (high school) someone taught Latin...doesn't have to be every day. For younger children could match up age levels so you aren't teaching 3 kids at different levels all day every subject.

Hi, Hailey! So I homeschooled our twins for kindergarten, first and most of the second grade. We used Abeka and had a good experience with it. Our plan was to homeschool as long as we could, and then put our kids into a Christian school. But then we learned that one of our twins had severe dyslexia, and he needed the services of the local public school. Fortunately for us, we live in a small town, and the public school here is the best of the best! Most of the teachers and administrators are Christian, and we feel good about them attending there. They are now going into the eighth grade this Fall, and will likely finish high school there if nothing changes. All that being said, it is true that you have so much more control over your children’s education if you homeschool. I really think it just depends on whether it works for your family, what the Christian schools are like there and if they are affordable to you. As a Christian, my last choice would be Public school unless you have a stellar one like we do. I feel like if you guys pray about it over the summer, you will make the right decision.🙏

    Hi Hailey,
I know I am a bit biased but I think homeschooling is a great idea. This coming year our last of seven children will be graduating. We began our homeschool in 1998. It hasn’t always been easy but the Lord said, “go” and I went. He said, “finish “ so I will. 😊
Yes, it sounds like you were trying to do everything and I understand that. I did at the beginning as well. You can pick and chose within the curriculum. Have them to learn what matters and then the rest they can learn within those subjects what they are interested in. A Beka is great and thorough but can be very challenging to a fault for a lot of families if tried to be down to the letter.
Thanks for sharing your sweet little family!

We are a homeschooling family. I have 7 kiddos ranging from 6-19. We use Abeka for elementary and a mix of things for middle school and high school. We love the flexibility that homeschooling allows but most of all we love that we are in control of what they learn. We do attend a Christian co-op. A couple of our girls play on a homeschool softball league and another plays travel softball. It’s not easy but it has been the best decision for our family. Praying for you as you seek The Lords guidance. I know it isn’t an easy decision to make.

We are homeschooling family, we use abeka dvds and love it. But you also have to pick and choose sometimes bc abeka is made for a school environment and sometimes it’s just to much. You just have to be scheduled, especially the more kids you have. I’ve found that’s the personally the best way to manage it all. Some kids just need the school atmosphere, you just have to pray about what’s best for your family. Homeschooling is very expensive as well and it keeps rising, I think school in general you have to budget out and decided what you want to spend money on, smaller vacations, not as many to budget schooling out. We’ve had to go on one “big” family vacation a year but then several smaller zoo trips and smaller cheaper things in order to budget for schooling and it’s worth it. My son is entering his senior year and it’s flown by, and I don’t regret giving up things to stay home and homeschool, and God blesses you for doing what he wants for your family. Just keep praying.

Not all private schools have it but with the voucher program school was only going to be $80/ month for my son. But we always chose homeschool as best for our family ❤ we loved Abeka but couldn't afford it so we do free curriculums such as The Good and the Beautiful and Easy Peasy Homeschool, both are christian based!

Our lifestyles are very similar. We homeschooled our 2 oldest at the same time you did with Delaney, then sent them back to in person, then pulled our oldest back out for middle school last year and that's been amazing for her. My second oldest does not want to be homeschooled and loves being in person.
I do have to say I couldn't imagine homeschooling my older 3 with my youngest at home and working from home.
I don't work and my oldest and I have to be very regimented to make sure we're still not working on school when my husband gets home. It takes a lot of effort on my part to stick to a schedule even though homeschooling is suppose to be more freeing.
I'd suggest having a plan B if you do homeschool if one of your kids comes up to you and says they'd rather be at school. Some people are willing to take them out, but not put them back in if they ask.
Hopefully the answer for your family comes in crystal clear for you soon!😊

The library always has fun reading programs, vacation bible school, Groupon always has discounts on great wolf lodge and the movies and lots of other things. Over the years we did day trips, we couldnt ever afford vacation.

Best decision our family ever made was pulling our kids from public school!! We have 4 kids as well and the best piece of advice I could give you is homeschool isn’t supposed to look like “regular” school. When we started I thought we had to do everything every day and it was so stressful! Relax, enjoy the moments and it will all work out! My kids are thriving and we are very relaxed. Good luck!

We are going to be homeschooling next year, and used abeka for 2 years the amount of seat work was overwhelming. I'll have 5 to homeschool next year and looking for something with less paper.

Your whole family would love the real good breaded chicken strips from Costco. Low carb, chick pea breading but tastes like chick filet.

I'm with Ethan - need a plan. And creating a budget as a family then sticking to it for rest of the year might be a really cool video series for the channel. With the family size you guys have - travel ball is not available....just unrealistic. I agree with you guys. Maybe you can get her softball lessons or softball camps to keep her skills sharp, if she would like that. Sorry Ethan - no salt on watermelon.

    Yes to salted watermelon!
And, I would encourage you to explore other curriculums. The beauty of homeschooling is the opportunity to tailor it specifically to your family and each kid (especially in math and language arts). I've seen lots of people give up because they tried to make it look like "school". It was a real hurdle for my husband when our kids days weren't PACKED from 8 to 2, but after 4 plus years he's seen them blow their classroom retention rates out of the water.

I homeschooled my kids during the middle school years. Our schools were terrible. Bullying, not great education either. Its hard to learn when your being bullied and have other problems. I wish i had never let my kids go to high school. That was a mistake. Anyway it's great to be 100% in charge of your kids education. Unfortunately the colleges arent much better as ive learned. You have to do whats right for your family. You'll make the right decision. You can also involve your kids in picking out their curriculum a little.

I homeschool/unschool my 10 year old, it’s our first year and I absolutely love it. Unschooling is easy in California, not sure what your requirements are in your state but something to look into.
