  • One of the most infuriating things about Star Wars is the fact that no one hates Star Wars more than the fans themselves. What's even more frustrating is the prejudiced hatred that the sequel trilogy consistantly gets, when they are actually well written films (for the most part) that does solid justice to the franchise..
These movies are not perfect either, they are flawed (especially the final film). But compared to the other Star Wars films, which most people find every excuse to praise over the ST, the trilogy is unique in its own right.
In this video, I explore common complaints and misconceptions of the sequel trilogy, and explain in detail why the sequel trilogy is better than you realize.

I agree, however the issue was the way he was brought back, no set up, no foreshadowing, literally just the opening crawl going Palpatine Returned!
If they had set it up in the prior movies it would’ve been much better (however that is one of the main issues with the sequels that they didn’t have a plan and were making it up as they went along, also Snoke was supposed to be the big bad until Ryan Johnson killed him off [which isn’t necessarily bad] but that had them scrambling for another villain since they couldn’t use Kylo as the main villain due to them wanting to redeem him)

So many Siths and Lords in tge Legends material, especially Plaguesis, what was so hard about deciding a new villain? Andy Serkis did an amazing job (Snoke), if its not broke don't fix it? I would of liked to see where the story goes??? Concept art from Awakens and Rise Of Skywalker had soo much world building, soo many details, and ideas, but they were not fleshed out in the films? I could see them Bringing back a villain after Last Jedi, but Rise could of been a whole new movie all together...They fell back on Palp as if they weren't confident about starting something new? Palp died 30 years prior to Force Awakens...soo much intrigue and mystery would of garnered more attention from sw fans...There are elements that were presented in the prequels that could been brought back for Rise Of Skywalker and made a slambang finish for SW's. Even an open ended ending to Last Jedi would of left more desired for the films that follow. In other words don't end the movies leave the last one open ended...

Very brave of you to make this video. For as long as these videos are made, the creator will receive a lot of shit. I don't agree with your points, but I can appreciate your POV and can say that you did a good job of conveying your argument. I envy you and many of these comments saying that they loved this trilogy because I really wish I did. There are definitely points that I do agree with, such as the First Order being menacing and how it's not insane for Rey to beat Kylo in TFA. People definitely judge these films more harshly than the prequels or originals when there are the same problems with them. I don't like the sequels because they don't have a cohesive or satisfying story. Having Rey, Finn, and Poe share their first scene in TROS is like having Luke, Han, and Leia not meet until ROTJ. These movies were fun but I just didn't feel any emotional attachment to anyone except for Kylo Ren. It just feels like a copy/paste of the OT with different characters. It just feels like the universe contracted rather than expanded. The Prequels showed us a different side of star wars, but the sequels don't really feel justified to me. As I said, I commend you for making this video and while I don't agree with you, I gave the video and like and subbed because this is a very well-made video.

I disagree with the idea that Rian left it with nothing open. Rey had been looking for a skywalker to save the galaxy the whole film. When Luke wouldn't take up the mantle she turned to Kylo who she thought she could turn. When she found out she was a nobody the next movie COULD have explored her dealing with the idea that she was a nobody and her self doubt, because how could she, a nobody from a nobody world and nobody parents, stand up to the grandchild of darth vader with an entire council of students FULLY trained by the legendary Luke Skywalker hope to stand a chance?
The next film also set up Kylo as potentially irredeemable after he killed snoke and didn't turn. Further it never answered "who are the knights of ren? and what is their relationship to Kylo? what is their beliefs?" we are told that Kylo took some of Luke's students with him, so some of them could have been the knights of ren but they did nothing with this. Even if they wanted to Redeem Kylo the Knights of Ren was a clear pathway to do so. As the pressure from this "dark jedi council" could mean that if he ever showed weakness to them they would destroy him just as easily as he destroyed snoke.
there were plenty of directions and through lines open and those were just a couple. Rebuilding the resistance could have been a whole clone wars esc mini-series to itself, the final movie could have gone literally anywhere. I do not feel it is fair or accurate to say Last Jedi forced the final film into a poor spot.

@@dolphinpower1107 well, in TLJ's defence, it tried to go new directions. Thing is, they handled the new ideas poorly. A broken and gave up Luke is a good idea as it is, but trying to kill his nephew in his sleep for seeing hints of darkness in him is awfully off-character for someone who saw the light in Darth freaking Vader, at least without more context. Rey's parents being nobodies was a good idea too, but they refused it for a stupid Palpatine twist. Message about arms dealers getting profit from both sides was good, but this story arc had a strong side-quest vibe and ultimately led nowhere. Rey beating Luke at hand to hand combat was not plausible, he's a jedi master and she has little to no experience with lightsaber. Leia teaching Poe to be less reckless was a good idea, but being mad about destroying the dreadnaught made no sense, she is a general and must understand that while they lost dozens, the First order lost about 200000 people (data from wookiepedia) and orbital cannons. The Resistance not getting help from anybody was good idea, but then who was supporting them in the first place, and why did First Order saw them as threat, if they only had one base and a number of ships? Holdo being secretive about her plan was good if she was expecting to have a spy on board, but the way she handled Poe was awful, he is a commander, not just any hotshot pilot, and instead of reassuring him she brushed him off as an annoying brat. All in all, TLJ had potential, but... It was what it was.
The biggest problem of sequels is lack of general vision of where the story will go. It has ideas, but not a coherent story.

But I know the holdo maneuver is a garbage plot device. The code breaker subplot is useless considering they dont even need him by the time they do get back to the resistance. Rey still is ultra-powerful for no reason. The first order and resistance chase is stupid considering the first order literally doesent need to be locked in this chase with so many alternatives to chasing them outright. And then I have a million complaints from a star wars standpoint but that doesent matter when discussing the garbage plot.

I went to go watch each of the sequels in cinema. "The Last Jedi" in particular is a standout movie for me as it was my first ever midnight release for anything and I dare say it's the strongest movie in the sequel trilogy. Watching them again now, they're all okay at best. Some great moments in each one, as well as some bad/cringe moments also. But no matter what some "fans" might have to say about it, I will always rate the sequels above Episodes 1 and 2. Those two movies usually always sit at the bottom of my list. Very insightful video! What did they bring or add to the franchise? And I cant find anything. It was a big waste of time and money. They feel empty and unnecessary because the story goes nowhere. TFA had a good set up. Then it all went absolutely nowhere. It's a trilogy with no real pay off at the end. Added nothing to the Star Wars saga. Episodes 1-6 feel like an overarching story. Anakin falls to the dark side and is saved by his son. Ep 7-9 are about nothing. They can be enjoyable movies if you just sit back and watch for the spectacle but as part of the Star Wars franchise, they fail.

I totally agree with you in this, because when I watch them I enjoy them, but when you start to make it fit with the rest of the lore, there is something off that just does not fit.
But I would say that my counter argument for not being about nothing is not totally accurate, I would say that what it is about is not well executed narrative wise.
Because I would say that it is about self reliance and self discovery. Because we have to different characters at opposite ends of the force that are looking for their place in the galaxy, something that makes sense for them, Ben is lost trying to fit in somewhere, and Rey is lost searching for her place somewhere too.
But that theme is not well executed, it misses the mark in several ways, which is why I agree with your overall assessment of why us that are in the middle ground of liking/not liking the sequel trilogy, that there is something that just does not fit with the rest of the lore.

My biggest beef with TFA and the biggest hurdle I need to overcome whenever I try to enjoy these movies is that its very premise undoes everything accomplished in the OT. Everything our Heroes set out to do at the end of ROTJ has already been destroyed, a full reset just to tell the old Empire vs. Rebellion-Story all over again. Was it too much to ask to start off the new Trilogy with a functioning New Republic and a healthy New Jedi Order and go from there? I watched ROTJ and TFA on consecutive days before TROS came out and the disconnect was unbelivable. I can't believe the scriptwriters all agreed that the right way to start off the Sequel to the most beloved Trilogy of all time by negating everything its characters have fought for. I mean, VI ends with Luke looking hopeful, his Father and his Teachers looking on in joy and approval and you can naturally assume that the next Thing Luke began working on was the rebirth of the Jedi Order. This was his Job, the task he was left with. VII literally begins with the words 'Luke Skywalker has disappeared' because his Student destroyed this fledling order. What the hell...
Yes, I'm aware that a lot of time passed in-universe. But the same applied to ROTS and ANH and these movies flow seemlessly into another despite the time-skip. That the actual Story of TFA is mostly just plotpoints from ANH stitched together with a hot needle as well as a lot of luck and coincidence was a minor problem by comparsion.

I mean 30 years had passed. It seems weird to get hung up on life changing in over a 30 year span. Luke fulfilled his promise from VI by beginning to rebuild the Jedi Order, but clearly things went very, very wrong. The thing with progress is that it isn't linear. I mean just looking at the history of Star Wars, every single Era is mired with seemingly the same type of conflict over and over again. But that's what progress is--a constant battle towards a better future. Does that make the past meaningless, absolutely not. It makes the past imperative.
It's this same fact that makes Nazism pervasive long after the events of WW2. The end of a War is not the death of an ideology nor does it mean such ideology can't manifest itself into a war machine again. Progression is the constant stride forward in face of regression--that's what the sequel trilogies are; that's what Star Wars is.

I understand that I might not agree with everything you have to say, yet I gave this video a like anyways, because you talked about what you are passionate about and that’s the most important thing. However, if you’ll excuse me, I have to rant about a few points you made that I didn’t agree with, just so I can get this off my chest. Feel free to disagree, but i think these things have to be said.
The thing about the First Order coming out of nowhere is that, the majority of people who watch these movies don’t view any material outside of them. It still would’ve been a huge improvement if they said anything in the movie about how the first order came to be and why the republic isn’t doing anything about it.
I don’t think anyone says that the troopers of the respective villain groups were ever menacing, the droids for example are hilariously not. The problem is with the First Order as a whole. Every time a droid would say something stupid, or die in a funny manor, it wouldn’t lessen the impact that the overall CIS had on the rest of the galaxy. However, when the first order is so hilariously huge and doesn’t seem to have any limits to its power, it’s harder to believe that they have any impact on any of the galaxy. How many planets does the First Order control? If they don’t have that many, how are they so big? If they do control a lot of planets, why isn’t the republic doing anything about them?
The chosen one narrative was a good way of ending off the series, saying that Darth Vader would eventually restore balance to the force after it has been swaying for years upon years is fitting. Now, new Sith Lords like Kylo Ren or Snoke are to be expected. The force is in “balance” after all, there has to be good with the bad. However, bringing back Emperor Palpatine, the villain of the Star Wars Galaxy for two of the three trilogies, the one who was destined to be killed by Anakin Skywalker, makes all of the previous movies pointless. It would be like if Voldemort came back to life immediately after the final battle. Harry would be like, “well, I guess everyone lied to me and all I did for my whole life was for nothing. It ruins everything the originals and the prequels were building up towards and it was a stupid idea. I cannot believe someone did not think it would be fine to bring back the main antagonist of the other two trilogies that were all about his rise and fall.
I was fine with the Rey Skywalker thing. After a while, I came to understand it. However, Rey should not have buried the lightsabers in the sand. That just made no sense. The only thing it had going for it, was it was a familiar location. The symbolism of this scene is terrible. There’s Anakin, who lived on Tatooine as a slave, who’s mother was killed there, who hated it with a burning passion ever since he was little. Then, there’s Luke, who lived on Tatooine as a farmer, never knowing his father or mother, who’s only other family was also killed there, who longed to get off the planet as a little boy, who also hated it ever since he was young. It is a disgrace to bury these people’s lightsaber in the sand on this planet. Also, Leia only went to Tatooine where she was also enslaved by Jaba the Hutt, so that makes no sense.

It's stated that he's learning to pilot a ship. Also, he blew up the Death Star only because of the help of Obi-Wan and the Force, not because of his piloting skills. Not to mention he was training with Yoda for a while in Empire when The Falcon was escaping the Empire. There's no explicit time scale in the movie, but since hyperspace takes a while combined with a damaged ship, it probably took awhile to get to Bespin. Even then, Luke got his ass whooped by Vader; and looked very sloppy during most of the fight.
And no, Rey was insanely OP. Performed a mind trick first try with no training or knowledge of it, bested a trained Jedi/Sith in combat (it was established that the bowcaster blows shit up, but then it barely wounded him. if the movie want's to be inconsistent then I get to say it was a bullet level wound on the side) despite only having a novice ability to swing a stick (staff combat isn't the same as sword/saber). It is important to remember that there were still a lot of good things about these movies. I do think these movies did a great job capturing the magic of SW. While I disagree with a fair amount of points, I think can overlook a lot of my more minor criticisms. however, I felt like each movie made critical errors in decision making. I liked Kylo overthrowing snoke becoming the true antagonist, but then you realize Rey already beat him, and thus Kylo can’t be the big bad - which ultimately leads to Palpatine returning. People love to critique the 'Star Wars' sequel film trilogy for not having been fully planned out, but neither were the other 2 'Star Wars' film trilogies. George Lucas didn't come up with Darth Vader secretly being Anakin Skywalker until he wrote the script for 'Star Wars - Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back' after 'Star Wars - Episode 4: A New Hope' was released, and he didn't come up with Luke and Leia being biological siblings until he wrote the script for 'Star Wars - Episode 6: Return of The Jedi' after 'Star Wars - Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back' was released. However, the concept of Rey being Darth Sidious's granddaughter was actually thrown around while 'Star Wars - Episode 7: The Force Awakens' was being made, in addition to the concept of Rey being a Kenobi.

Then the final act could’ve been still quite similar but now hux is the leader of the first order and Luke maybe combines a bit of the force projection and a bit of him actually there to hold back the first order. Then somehow involve kylo and Rey so that fin can see she’s with Kylo but have them both detached from the resistance and the first order. That would’ve set up the whole third movie differently with fin possibly being trained by luke or leia and wanting to redeem Rey. And then Rey and kylo tracking Jedi and sith artefacts or something. Great thoughts - thanks! I think it's worth pointing out that I think Hux's turn in RoS makes more sense than you give it credit for. They're not saying he was ALWAYS a spy, but that presumably everything changed when Kylo Ren killed Snoke. Snoke was the leader responsible for crafting the First Order that Hux so fervently believed in, and we saw from his earliest scenes in Force Awakens how much he and Ren hated each others, so Snoke's death and Ren's subsequent ascension to Supreme Leader at the end of Last Jedi rocked his world, and Ren's increasingly unhinged behavior (which the First Order leadership is disturbed by in that board room meeting at the beginning of Rise of Skywalker, for example) is a clear threat to the longterm continuation of the First Order that Hux has devoted so much of his life for. As a lifelong conservative Republican shocked and disgusted by what Donald Trump has done to the party, it is not hard for me to sympathize with Hux's fear of an unhinged leader wrecking the whole enterprise, or his apparent assessment that it would be better to let his enemies bring down said ruler (even if it risks the future of the organization itself) than to allow someone like that to remain in power. That's exactly how I've felt since ~2015 or so (and I'm not equating the GOP to the First Order, although I'm sure many out there would be fine with such a comparison, lol).
I do wish his death had been handled better (preferably at the hands of Kylo Ren, rather than the anticlimactic killing we got), but oh well... no big deal.

I'm saying there are no compelling messages that the prequels have to offer. A hero's fall to the darkside, tragedy of love, dreams of adventure, etc, are all interesting and compelling themes, but... what do those have to do with anything? Is the audience geniuenly learning something about themselves? Society? The world? That is themeatic meaning, which is something that the original and sequel trilogy do well in conveying.
Luke didn't just "bow to the emperor", there *was* context and a story that his character to fall. You are correct. His actions were completely justified due to the context of the situation... just as Luke's actions in canon were completely justified due to the context of the situation. Perhaps Rian Johnson could've invested more time into more than a 30 second flashback sequence, but the truth is simply that there wasn't enough time... TLJ is already the longest Star Wars movie. However, there is so much context through TLJ's dialogue, TROS, and the Rise of Kylo Ren comics (which does an excellent job fleshing out the characters more)

Yes, but what cannot be undone is the fact that the sequels overshadow everything in all of the previous movies. None of it even matters because of them. Unlike the prequels which added to the story. Not only is this a problem, they also go out of their way to ruin the existing characters (the original ones) and kill them off. It seems like this was all done to make their movies more popular, and to show that ‘rey’ was better that the others. but it backfired because rey is an unlikable mary sue and people like the original movies better.

(kreia and exile grow in strength at same time) Ben acts as a mentor to rey, while tempting her to join him (same with kreia who tries to teach the exile) and it ends with the ben dying, who saves rey through is love for her (similar to how kreia dies while loving the exile). Which leads me to think that maybe rey is also a wound in the force and is feeling the force because of her connection to Ben.

They weren’t meant to continue the story of the skywalkers or the Jedi order you are used too, they meant a new beginning to something different and they succeeded, I think people hate because we don’t know what happens next and what happened in the year gap between tlj and tros but Disney did the job and it was awesome honestly. How? I’m only at the 16:21 and so far this video is just full of misinformation, conjecture and what-aboutisms. Like this guy literally pointed to dark empire for having a darker take on Luke as justification for TLJ? And from what I hear dark empire wasn’t exactly the most popular part of the expanded universe. It’s like saying “oh you think King Henry the 8th was bad? What about Vlad the Impaler?” And then saying “it’s sci-fi you can do anything you want” I’m sorry but isn’t that kinda reductive? Every universe should have it’s rules, breaking those rules in certain ways has a habit of breaking tension for example let’s say in Lord of the rings in the second movie you establish teleportation as a thing known and used by the masses. If you don’t put heavy restrictions on that ability it’s going to brake tension and ruin a lot of what happened earlier. Like why don’t Frodo and Sam just teleport to mount doom. But again if you add restrictions to the power it makes it less world breaking, like say the power of teleportation only works for a certain race who has to have been to the said location before and were very rare, this doesn’t really break the story. The reason force heal was acceptable in the old EU from what I gather was A hard to master, B took a lot of time to work, and C wouldn’t do much to stop fatal blows. This lessens how destructive this power can be to the plot. But even if this wasn’t true it would still be a what aboutism argument. Disney got rid of the old canon but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t learn from its mistakes and be better for it. Heck that’s what they told us was the goal! I can get into this far more but yeah point is his points ain’t that good. Sorry if I came off a bit strong, but I just heard that Rules don’t matter line and as an aspiring Author and avid reader/watcher that comment hurt my soul.

@@storyseeker6028 Yea i agree with u, i see these as really weak arguments that are a desperate attempt at trying to defend these movies. Rules r the most important thing in any movie/book/etc. Without them nothing can connect and make sense giving us no expectations because we don't ever understand whats happening which pushes us further away from the films. Every flim has rules whether someone thinks they do or dont. Without it, there wouldnt be a story to tell a character to get attached too. The only reason why sci fi works is because we compare the real world to that world which would have desirable traits that our world does not possess, interesting points of view, or fun stories. I dont think I could express in writing how important rules are, even though it makes so much sense in my head. Dont be ashamed to continue to dislike the sequels, because his opinion is worth as much as yours, he just published it. The fans that went on the internet and expressed their love of the prequels, bringing more people to love them as well. Now you are that same person but for the sequels. Of course there’s other factors like prequel kids, (me), who grew up alongside those movies. Then with the Clone Wars show that expanded on the characters and introduced new events involved in those wars. I’d love for there to be an animated show that showcases the 30 years in between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Since it’s animation you won’t have to worry about the characters not looking like the original actors. No weird deep fake situation there. Alas, I myself have accepted and have started to appreciate what just is about the sequels. I cannot change them and

I wonder if there are more people who actually enjoy these movies more than what the internet suggests. Yes, I prefer Mandalorian over the sequels, but that does not mean that I think they’re bad at all. I love mandalorians, so anything with Mandalorians is an automatic win for me. I find it insulting when some people think I like shit. I don’t like shit and I happen to think the sequels, or every other canon Star Wars film or show is not shit. Star Wars will never be shit from my point of view no matter the era. I prefer some things from SW more than others, and I would have done things differently with the ST if it were up to me, but I would have changed all the films, not just those three. But even when something doesn’t go exactly how I imagined, I can’t help but be grateful that I’m able to immerse myself in the GFFA every time I see it onscreen. I legit am sorry for those who don’t see the films the way I do. We don’t have to be sycophants, but we do need more open mindedness and support for the film makers and give them constructive criticism, not the bullshit “so and so ruined my childhood” complaints. Who’s with me?!

I really like hearing your points in this video and it was nice to see certain scenes and actions from another point of view. I think it is great that you get so much enjoyment out of the movies! I just think, that for me personally at least as well as some others, the more I read and consume Star Wars media, the less I appreciate the premise of the movies. It just seemed so rehashed, especially after reading various novels with different takes on the universe. Not just the old EU but even newer expansions: the High Republic novels show that you can craft a great story at a time when the power of the Jedi was growing.
When I first watched the films, I had consumed nothing of the Star Wars universe: the very first Star Wars film I had even seen was the Last Jedi, and I thought it was great!! I cannot tell you how excited I was after watching the other trilogies I was- I actually made my roommate go with my to the Rise of Skywalker during my 1st year of college finals because we were PSYCHED!! However, the movie felt empty? to me. I can't quite explain it but there was just so much going on, nothing had time to breathe and I was really disappointed in the characters of Finn and Poe. I also really wanted to see Rey use her own lightsaber but it wasn't what killed the movie for me. Just seeing the state of the galaxy after the movie was just so hollow. Nothing had changed, the Republic had fallen again, the Resistance had to rebuild, no Jedi left, etc. You bring up the point that conflicts are bound to be repeated and that it is as naïve to see the Empire as having really fallen as it was to think WWI was the last big war. I actively disagree with you there: the sequel films don't really take any time to flesh out what was going on prior to the films (although new material has been rectifying this!) and so it does seem a bit out of no where that the galaxy is in the same conflict as 30 years prior. Regardless, seeing as the films end in the same place as the original trilogy pretty much, I just personally feel it's a little meaningless to go back and rewatch them. This is magnified by the fact that the relationship between the characters themselves was not strong enough to hold my attention personally.
In the end, the sequel trilogy just felt wasted to me. They made me not care (which is a me problem and no one else's to deal with!) about the universe because it was back to square one with characters that did not live up to what they might have been. It took me a long time to go back to caring about the universe because what is the point if it all falls apart? Ultimately though, I hope Star Wars takes a long break from it and goes off way into the past or future to tell some radically different stories.
    Great video!

5:16 The force awakens is way more similar to a new hope than just those two scenes.
The main guy is an untrained Jedi from a desert planet, the bad guy is a red lightsaber guy dressed in black with a mask, the bad guy’s army is made up of clones, the dark bad guy with a mask kills the old guy, the plans are hidden in a droid, the bad guys weapon is a Death Star... I could keep going, it’s almost the same movie.

Alright you had my subscribe when you called the ewoks teddy bears. I call them the same damn thing. The great empire was defeated by teddy bears!
Honestly though I agree with this. I was half tempted to make a video (revive my old ass channel XD) until I realized there was already one. My biggest gripe on the complaints of these films is that alot of what they take issue with, story retcons, knowledge of the force without training.. literally all happen in the original trilogy. Fun fact to many that may not know. But originally, before empire strikes back came out, the story that obi wan told luke about his father, was the actual events at that point. But during empire they decided to change that up. Make it what we all know and love today. Speaking of empire how the hell did Luke manage to force pull that lightsaber from the ice without ever being trained on how to to force pull? Guess the original trilogy is bad now.
Just honestly the critique that they get is unjust. Yeah they have problems, but the problems that are ever listed are problems the entire saga has. We never cared before, it was all about the ride, the fun, the mythical side of star wars.

You did a wonderful job on this video. The folks who disliked, which I'm proud to see are still in the minority, probably didn't even give your video a chance or even attempt to watch the whole thing. I watched every second. And that's props to you, sir, cause usually I can barely get through 20 minutes of these 40 minute essays. But you did your homework, and had great comments with reference visuals to enhance them. There are points we probably still wouldn't agree on when it comes to the politics of the prequels or my personal love of The Rise of Skywalker, but I definitely agree with a majority of what you said. Even enlightened me to see The Last Jedi in a new/more positive light. Most certainly agree that the lightsaber duels in the sequel trilogy are slept on, too. That duel on the ocean moon of Endor is amongst my top 5 of the entire saga -- especially in its magnitude for the story. Sadly, people rely so much on sensory assistance to decode story/emotion anymore -- and what killed it for so many was not having a score to assist the scene there, whether it be a return of Battle of the Heroes or Duel of the Fates redone. That probably would've enhanced it for the others. But like you, I see beyond that. See it for what it is, and how powerful it stands just as it is. Plus, as an avid reader, it's easy for me to kinda imagine the music while I watch. Anyways, man, fantastic job! You've gained a subscriber.

Leia & Han were given great treatment by the sequels, if anything. The movies aren’t perfect, they are certainly disjointed by episode 8 - but they still have heart. And IX did the best it could to heal the wounds TLJ left. I can respect that. Everyone can have their own opinion, but to say the sequels “ruined” everything, is a bit extreme.
