Datsun 240Z Flowmaster vs. MagnaFlow muffler comparison
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 жов 2015
- Before-and-after comparison: ~9" x 12" oval-style Flowmaster muffler, approx. 12 years old, internal baffles may have been damaged by recent backfire (more hollow-sounding than before); 6" round MagnaFlow muffler, part # MPE-12636, offset in/out (matched up well with MSA 2/5" exhaust), after approx. 100 miles of break-in.
After hearing this, magna flow for sure
Thanks for sharing, especially the Magnaflow part number, definitely the one I'm going with. Also 6-1 and 2.5", so I know exactly what it should sound like!!
No problem.... I've actually been thinking about changing to a slightly larger magnaflow muffler, I'm finding it a bit too loud this year
The Magnaflow sounds much better on this car
Might be a long shot considering the video is 7 years old, but I currently am running your exact set up ( MSA 6 into 1, with MSA premium Exhaust kit ) I'm running into a clearence issue with the magnaflow exhaust not fitting all the way in the stock location. Did you have to do any cutting or rearranging to make it all fit? Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you and good luck with the Z.
I have a Z Story muffler now, but I think I recall the muffler shop having the opposite problem - they had to bend the elbows a bit to get the original MSA muffler to fit, then had to un-bend them a bit for the magnaflow
@@baddog240z5 As of right now I wasn't able to get either of the mufflers to fit. I cut about 1 inch from both the exhaust tubing and the muffler itself. Almost seems like the tube is too long, so maybe bending them more will give me the room that I need to fit. Thanks for the tip. How's the Zstory Muffler working for you?
@@troyoliver6544 The ZStory muffler is fantastic-sounding, and is holding up very well. Someday I'd like to order his complete system to add a resonator and tone it down a little bit (local shop doesn't think they can fit one on my current pipe), and to get a gorgeous header too. For anyone interested in purchasing from ZStory, you have to reach out to via FaceBook instant message. The owner (Sean Dezart) operates that way because he wants to have a conversation with each customer to make sure his product is right for your application. His prices are also very reasonable IMHO
Hi 👋 Sir Nissan Fair lady sound’s awesome 👍 Sir I honestly really love 😍 it I Seriously enjoy that Mate I can’t wait to get mine Nissan Fair Lady 🚘 Sir 🤠
HI BadDog...thanks for the video. I have a '73 240 and want the Magnaflow...which model/one did you use please?
This is great! Magnaflow for sure. Do you have a catalytic converter?
BrianFarmerMusician nope, no cat. It's a 73, originally sold in Tennessee. Maybe they were required that early in California?
What kind of rims do you have on this car?
Joshua Engel konig rewinds, 16", graphite finish
Magnaflow.
What dizzy are you running. Why only one video did you sell the Car ?
Stock-type distributor but with a Pertronix Ignitor replacing the points. The video was made for posterity sake. I have since moved on to a Z Story JDM-style (twin stacked pipes) muffler. Sounds even better than this haha
@@baddog240z5 don’t leave us hanging 😅 we would love a clip of the new system too!
