they meant like none at all. while there are non in production at the moment, there is Coraline, The Box Trolls, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Kubo. So yes they are partially correct, there are still amazing stop motion movies. sorry for getting all technical.
People say this movie is “too scary” and “terrifying”. I’ve watched it three separate times, and it really isn’t. It’s just a fun, silly mystery adventure story. It has creepy elements, but this movie gets a bad rep for no reason at all. It barely counts as “horror” even at its worst moments. “Coraline” is not scary. At all. It’s one of the most adorable and magical movies I ever had the pleasure of watching. Hopefully someday people will give this movie the respect it deserves, and I don’t mean in a “Too Spoopy 4 you” meme sense.
The movie is not scary. But it does have some things that are creepy and/or unsettling. It also depends on who watches it, theyre experience with movies and wich part of the movie they remember. I was a kid when it came out and i dont remenber how i felt when i saw it for the first time. But i know that i was amazed with the animation and the whimsical side of the movie (the dinner table, the cool garden, the cotton candy canon, etc) but i didnt really understand the story and it mostly confused me. The scary part? Didnt even remember it. So there were a GIANT difference in opinions with my friends and my family. They all thought (and still do btw) that the movie is creepy, terrifying, disturbing, confusing and that it shouldnt be for kids, because they focused on the third act of the movie. Also, a lot of people think that kid movies are dumb and simple. That they shouldnt be scary nor challenging for children. So a movie with a sence of adventure and cool ideas (the whimsical stuff) that suddenly has a spider-button-eyed-child-eating "mother" IS scary. Especially when your a kid thats not used nor where expecting this type of stuff. Plus the book is scarier.
My god, the amount of talent that went into making this movie is astonishing. Coraline has always been one of my favorite movies and it's quite a masterpiece.

ARMYs are everywhere ArMyyyy😂❤️
I thought this was animated on like an computer or something not like actual puppets sculpted and remade dozens of times just to make it perfect or just right. I really respect this and I loved the movie! It was creepy, a good type of creepy.
From what I know, only the fog in the snail picture scene was animated by computers, because they just couldn't get it just right by hand.
Besides the fog, it's all handmade :D
It's so surreal to see the parts of the film being shown in real time by real people, like they're either impossibly small or way bigger than I could've ever imagined it just makes me wonder how this film could've ever been made it's so impressive!
Man, this movie was a great part of my childhood, i swear i almost cried when the video begun and played the music.
*Thanks Laika*
To the people who say the movie is scary.......just read the book.
Oof. That, my friend, is truly scary
The movie scared me. Is the book scarier?

5 seconds- mine are all less than 2
Not to negate the absolute talent and work of these people, but you’re one person, and they have a whole crew.
You make it past 2 seconds???
Mine are on my UA-cam channel
This is definitely one of my favorite movies. The aesthetic, the animation, the design, it's all so beautiful. It's seldom seen in movies the same amount of effort put into this magnum opus.
I love coraline. I used to be TERRIBLY TERRIFIED

Me: coralline is so intriguing and the stop motion animations are extremely satisfying
Ikr like when I watched it in preschool I found it magical
I was so terrified of it when I was little because I am scared of spiders, but I loved it anyway. I am not scared of it anymore, but I still love it.
You made it sound like it's bad to call this movie creepy
when I was little I was scared at that scene where the fake dad drowns in the garden's pond
Lets take a moment here ok?
Can we appreciate how much hardwork there is in this movie but still no one knows about this APPRECIATE THEIR HARDWORK
Bruh every time I watch coraline (Which is everyday) I think about how long it takes to make all of that, and how much hard work they out into it. They had the choice to do it or not. They did it! Without Coraline I would not be who I am now and I am so grateful for their hard work ♡♡♡
The amount of patients, time and thought put into every little detail and movement is amazing

The amount of respect I have for these people is so immense I can't put it into words 👏
this was my childhood and it is still one of my favorite movie
People say this movie is “too scary” and “terrifying”.
I’ve watched it three separate times, and it really isn’t. It’s just a fun, silly mystery adventure story. It has creepy elements, but this movie gets a bad rep for no reason at all. It barely counts as “horror” even at its worst moments. “Coraline” is not scary. At all. It’s one of the most adorable and magical movies I ever had the pleasure of watching.
Hopefully someday people will give this movie the respect it deserves, and I don’t mean in a “Too Spoopy 4 you” meme sense.
I guess it’s just too weird for normal people HAHAH kidding
istg man i dont get whats so creepy about it.
Syazwina Yusof I think the parents being gone and having this whole nightmarish realm is unsettling to people.
It was scary to me when I first saw it as a 7 year old, but not at all now. Its just kinda creepy at some parts
I just showed my friend this and he says he has never heard of coraline, I'm bout to knock him out
As you should
