Chris, I have had the Brake Free white model since May 2022. The only thing I didn't get back then was the oversized (thick) helmet mount, which I didn't need. This device is great for alerting people behind you that the bike is slowing down.

8-15-23 @. 9:11 am. I have the black version and several times when stopping at a Starbucks or DD I have had someone driving a car come over to me to ask me about the Brake Free and comment on how it really drew their attention to me especially since it will flash even when you are decelerating, many times even when shifting and not using your brakes. That settled it for me about how this adds to rider safety. It’s not cheap, but then again neither is my life.

It seems, that they are a bit unorganized.
They don’t even have an E-Mail where to get in contact with them.
Advertising seems the only thing, which has priority.

Just ordered the white version, but the CRUISEMAN discount was "not available " to me at this time. I don't know why. I wear my black one all the time and get frequent comments to the positive about it.

Its a nice product, no question. I saw an article, recently that some large helmet makers, already working on the same concept + front/rear camera linked to phones. That is why I am holding on Brake Free. I own 2020 Tour and every inch counts in the back. Removing it all the time, not for me. Its a bit bulky. But, it works well. Good design. They need to sell them fast.
You can charge it without removing it.
@@cruisemansgarage What they need to do is incorporate this design in a reflective vest. S,L XL, XXL. If they mount it up high so even a Touring rider with a rear box can use it, that will be a game changer.
At these prices it’s not a huge, out of pocket expense. Buying one enables being safer immediately. There is a crazy amount of illumination up where you need it most. Ok, I know, you got that part. If and when a large helmet maker comes to market with one, and it works as good or better than Brake Free, Brake Free has got a very good patent, I watched this on Shark Tank and followed this product. There are other type products like this but nothing comes close. Lastly. The one you buy today could be the one that saves your life tomorrow. Safe travels.
@@roadglide My issue is not the dollar. I saw one on a helmet and it looked a bit bulky for me. Great visibility, yes. I ride with an LED flashing strip sawed to my yellow riding vest. I am aware of be seen at night after riding for 35 years. This is my opinion.
They need to lower the damn price, by a lot.

Quick question - what do you use to helmet mount your GoPro camera when you’re doing your Vlogs? I can only find chin mount brand and think you use something different. Thanks!

The CRUISEMAN ($10) discount is good for either color, but the other $10 is only for the white model.
do you know if this would work with my LS2 valiant as far as clearance when the chin bar is flipped all the way back?
Dan, I do not know the answer to that. You may want to contact Brake Free to see if they know the answer to that. When I get back into town, I can send you the dimensions of the light. It looks like there may be enough room at the bottom back of the helmet to mount it.

Ordered a black one. Got the Cruiseman 10$ discount. One quick question though. How does the mount hold up? I hope the weight of the light doesn’t weigh it down to the point where I am scraping the pieces off the street.
I have had 2 mounts on 2 different helmets for 2 years and they have held perfectly.
Meanwhile in Europe, neither the black or white has been in stock for over a month. Info from the website: _"We expect a limited amount of stock to come in by the end of October. All pre-orders made prior to October 10th are expected to be fulfilled the 3rd week of October. Not sure about that. You DO get the CRUISEMAN $10 discount, but I am not sure about the Aug 17-24 discount. I will check on that.

Hi Chris. I've been on the Brakefree website and notice they only ship to the US and Canada. As I reside in Victoria Australia, I visited their EU website to order, but they want $150US to ship to Australia, which is ludicrous. I have tried to contact them regarding a selling agent which is in Australia, but they won't answer my email. Do you know of any distributors in Australia where I can buy this product? Regards Kelvin

I had one of the cheaper alternatives amd it lasted 6 months.
When the day comes that I feel the need to put a light on my helmet or on my clothing, I'll retire the bike...Not happening in my life...
Might as well wear a string of LED Christmas lights around your neck..........Dude you need to find some worthy content..
If a string of Christmas lights keeps someone from running up my ass at a stop light, I will wear them.
The flashing light when you slow down and stop definitely helps with safety...I noticed cars stay further back with my Gold Strike trunk light, that flashes while your stopped.

I've got plenty of LED tail lights,back box lights,LED running lights,turn signals,marker lights on my 18+ wing, I'll not be putting any on my helmet..Too Anal for me.@@frankward8003
What it and they will do is allow them to see what they just ran over. Lights helped a bunch when the 18 wheeler backed over you not so long ago.Huh@@cruisemansgarage
