Hello Pinch of Mint from our farm in New Hampshire. Yes I recall how wonderful some of those prawn starters were in the UK. My favorite was butter lettuce as the base with 🍤🍤 large prawns in a circle. Sliced avocado was fanned between them with a drizzle of lemon. A small bowl of marie sauce was placed in the center. Served with cracked black pepper and a glass of white wine. Adding the sauce to your shrimp reminds me more of American shrimp salad. So good! My best friend Val gets after me with difference between prawns and shrimp, the number of legs? Both are so delicious and a big part of my new post surgery diet routine, as I am off red meat for the foreseeable future. Looking forward to any more seafood recipes you have up your sleeve. Best ~ Diane

Looks amazing ... question - does it turn out quite spicy? I would have thought that much spice in it would make it hot, but I've never had a hot prawn cocktail before ... or does it just add to the flavour? And if it *does* make it spicy, could I substitute with paprika for flavour with no to little spice?

Thank you, I wouldn’t say it’s very spicy the spices just add flavour really. But if you don’t want to risk the spice you can use paprika or smoked paprika.
