      You Foo bar’d that entire design. Now you need to mover the BBQ and Fridge forward to open the engine covers, because that’s how pivot’s and geometry work. The bottom / front frame will hit the newly built kitchen assembly. Now you can’t fasten even them down appropriately or will need yo make a quick release assembly if you do want them to fasten down. You shouldn’t have made full cubes for the engine box frames and built the forward facing support onto the BBQ and Fridge unit. The engine boxes would have then rested onto that support for strength and to latch down. Otherwise the engine box frame and kitchen units need to be angled to stop interference with each other. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe they will pivot without rearrange the entire boat, lol. But if I’m right that would be real fun on the water of you need engine access moving all the appliances and what not.

      kind of the same though. Building a fully customized boat except for the areas of premade items going in and not customizing them to make it look OE.The gaps around hot tub and the gaps around the bbqs would drive me nuts. Could easily pull the bbqs to the front and extend the knobs through the alum and then he could've put the propane storage underneath the bbqs too instead of the "prep" area.

    You could do control extension for the BBQ, they surely come off so you could extend the spindle through the front sheet metal, small mod and easily repairable or coverable holes if you needed to replace them later

    some tavarish tape on the underside of the grill box top could help with melting, and you should really make a mount for the propane tank, if you havent already designed for one.

    For the swim deck, ditch the straps and build a lightweight (P...and backwards P...shaped) railing on each side of the platform to act as a handle to lift it and also give swimmers something to grab onto while getting out of the water.

    Love the grill, the only thing I might have done differently is I thing I would have had the top six or eight inches of the front panel fold down after you open the lid to expose the control better, it would be reasonably easy to do with a piano hinge, also look cool. Great build.

    Chris- More ideas: Look for a plastic tote that would fit inside your "ice" area that is a few inches smaller all the way around and insulate the tote from the aluminum and use that to hold your ice. But I would also consider one of those portable ice makers for the bar. Found one on Amazon that makes 120lbs of ice in 24 hours for $180.
    Wont the tanks fit under the grills? Lots of wasted space. maybe order another set of doors.
    You'll also want a drain hole under the grills as they will drip and make a mess over time.
    I would consider a snap on back made of canvas or tarp material to close out the underside of the cabinets. Keep the saltwater/air off your fridge and gas lines. Still easy to access and remove.
    As with any pontoon good guests will bring coolers. Make sure you have places for a few coolers that wont be in the walkways.

  • @heathbecker420
    @heathbecker420 2 місяці тому

    As you mentioned the ice will melt very quickly because of the aluminum's thermal transfer properties. It really needs to be insulated or you are just wasting ice. I would do a 2nd tub of aluminum inside the first with expanding foam in between for insulation. That would retain the look and durability of the aluminum but isolate the actual "ice box" portion of aluminum from the rest of the box and boat. If that is too much effort (don't want to lose even more SEMA TIME) then even a plastic tote would help protect the ice from direct contact with the aluminum. Thanks for all the entertaining videos!

    You should insulate the ice bin. You can buy rhino-liner to do that. You will also want to build a drain for water as the ice melts, otherwise you will have a sloshing mess after an hour or so.
