Thanks, so much for this video. I have to transfer my SIM from my late, lamented Nexus 5X, which I loved, to my next phone (A different make and model was recommended by friends.). I just discovered that my replacement phone was shipped to me with a SIM transfer tool. I'm going to put it, in its carry card, in one of the IFixIt kits, at the workshop club/maker space.
And you're the second person to say it's okay to use a metal probe to pop out the SIM tray. I also saw that my SIM transfer tool has a metal probe, so the engineers actually made it safe to use an electrically conductive tool. That's encouraging.

I bought my google pixel 3a XL brand new and am changing to a different one after I broke it. I opened the sims card slot and there was no card. Is there supposed to be one? How do I get all my old stuff if there wasn’t one? Someone please answer!

Nice, clear and straightforward, but it kind of undermines your point that you should insert the SIM card with your phone off when you do the opposite. Is your phone the one phone immune to potential problems with doing it this way?

So, I just bought the phone from Best Buy (unlocked) and I have AT&T. All I have to do is remove the SIM card from my current phone into the Google Pixel 3a and I can now use the phone and it's gonna be in the line I have now? No need to go to the carrier shop or should I go to be safe?
U are correct!! Pretty much same thing I did. Bought unlocked 3a then put my T-Mobile SIM card in which was in an iPhone X. And bam... up and running 👍🤟

It’s single sim
Maybe you should show more than a fraction of a second of the business side of the sim card so it shows which was the sim actually goes in? Not everyone has a sim with the edge cut off, some of us cut down a larger sim.

*****UPDATE & REQUEST***** In order to find the SIM card tray, you have to remove the phone case!!!🤣🤣🤣 Please add this to your video!! I spent my entire lunch hour doing research "googling" where/how to find the tray!
if you don't have SIM tool, use an old fashioned hair pin, NOT a bobby pin. Bobby pins are too thick
