I'm blessed to have gotten to see 4001 before the derailment on the west bound in Picacho Arizona this past late December 2016, even my wife had to do a double take!
NorfolkSoutherns#1Fan There's been a huge deal over NS 4001...and not the crew...I'm glad there are still people in the world who actually think that a locomotive can be replaced, and human lives can't.
Norfolk southern AC44C6M #4001 and Norfolk southern SD70ACE #1936 were involved for Mattawana train collisions on April 14th 2017. However, it returned to the service in 2020.
My good man is finally part of the Chris Chan lore.

This video is golden.
Good thing the crew are ok
That's so spooky seeing it 10 minutes before it derails.
yes, you chase it then, wrecked
4001 back in service!!
Yep! 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃
Although 4001 no longer has a P5 and now has a K5LLA.
Dude if you caught the derailment you would be so famous.
You are lucky, you caught them just before the crash.
That's crazy it derailed right after this. At least the crew is ok, the engine can always be replaced.
That's exactly right!

I'm also glad, very glad the crew survived.

I agree! :)
Nice Job I heard from my buddy Dylan Soltis that drives these NS Locomotives when he working he said it's gonna get scraped
Tim WhiteRailProductions he better not go back then
They could save it by rebuilding the damaged parts

Don't tell me that you care more about the loco than the crew ...
It’s back. It did not get scraped. :)
It seems like a bunch of people saw it before the wreck. This is about the 3rd person I’ve seen the of the derailment

In a way this is like a ghost train
The last time that EPIC P5 would ever be heard before it was completely fried & replaced by a K5LLA.
They replaced the P5 with K5HL
You hear it speeding up
Do u know what happened to NS 593?
It derailed in the middle of the crossovers at CP-McVey. No cause as to what caused the train derail as of now though.
IT was the sun that worped the rails
A switch heater was stuck on and caused the rails to kink. They were doing track speed when they came upon it.
hE'LL yes we love our G-d Da--ned TRAINS!!!!!!
Would you mind if I used this for a video I’m making about the NS rebuilds? I will credit you
This was right before the derailment
Both units are going to be repaired, heres a pic of them headed to altoona for repairs. railpictures.net/photo/615122/
Anyone knows the cause of the derailment ? Thanks.
goagăl minus to my knowledge there was a kink in the track and the train derailed on account of the kink and its speed.
Was that video before the derailment happens and what cause the derailment
Zach Bates From what I heard, it was a heat kink.
Do you mind if I use a clip of this video for a documentary I am working on about 4001? I would give credit as needed. Thanks for your time
Absolutely, go ahead!
@@wielandnr Thank you! It is very appreciated
I hope they don't scrap it
Same!
Nick Wieland me to
Sad news. They probably are gonna scrap it
DAMAGE is bad
Tri State Railfan ProductionsTM *xxMineVSCraftxx* 4001 and 1036 were just towed to Altoona for repair
:D
moments before the derailment
Yeah you caught this before NS 593 derailed with NS 4001 and SD70ACe 1036
Horrifying!
Dude if you had caught the derailment that would be beautiful lol
At The Crossing Productions wouldn’t say beautiful
No, that would be bad
