  • The first of my Epic Weekenders where I take on some epic mileage and some awesome views.
I take "Pete" the bike over to Normandy with some friends. We land in Le Havre and head on other to Bayeux and then back to Caen. 86 miles on day 1(Most mileage in one day!) and about 36-40 on day 2.
Absolutely fantastic trip! be sure to subscribe, comment and like for more.

Hi, im lucky enough to have had the opportunity to move into this region you cycled, from england where i used to live. My father in law gave me his old 90s road bike and i love taking it out into the sun and utilizing the smooth roads they have over here in france. i found your video informative and interesting and will certainly be expoloring more of these locations on two wheels ! i live in Bayeux, you did say that if you pronounced something badly to inform you... well, unfortunately you pronounced Bayeux incorrectly (as i did for sometime). Its pronouced BAI-YEU. Have a great day

Nice video, but you were heading into Ouistreham, not Caen -pronounced Con. Sorry for correcting but you did ask 😊 I did LE Harvre to St Malo by bike via Ouistreham, Isigny sur Mer, and Granville staying at Hotels. Lovely ride . I agree, the roads are mostly really good compared to Britain including the drivers.

sorry for the late reply. Yeah i recall the drivers being pretty sound with cyclists unlike the UK where it seems both are constantly at war with each other

    Hi,
Just watched your video. I love Normandie and try and get over there as much as possible throughout the year. Been going over since 2007. Like you say, great roads, great places, great people.
As for the medieval thing you came across, was it in Merville? I also came across this once when over with some friends. It's a Steam Punk thing I think.
    Matt

Nice video. I've cycled that area a lot. You should try St Malo to Cherbourg, via Dinan. St Malo, DInan and Mont St Michel on the first morning. PS. It's pronounced "Bye-yurr".

+Lee Hargreaves yeah i hope to go again this year. St Malo to Cherbourg may be a good contender for us. I'd like to do Spain sometime too. I heard Bayeux was discovered by Yorkshire explorers in 590BC and was thus named Bay-OOH

Not the river Seine but the Orne.
