Hello, Phoebe. Thank you for the compliment, and I want to say that I've been enjoying your videos 😃 For this pattern I am using some of the overdyed colors from GAST, and the more neutral colors using DMC. I also went with my own "black" using 1 strand of DMC 310 and 1 strand of DMC 3799. It gives a softer look and blends more seamlessly with the other colors. Thanks again for watching!
Hi, I’m kitting up Hoity Toity. Would you mind sharing with me the colors that need more than one skein. I bought a hank of black silk, so I should be good there. Your stitching is beautiful.
Hello, Susan. Thank you for the compliment 😊 I am doing a mix of DMC and the Gentle Arts threads, and I must say that you would easily need 5 skeins each of the hand-dyed colors, plus more. I am using the called for "Holly Berry" red, and that color has used about 5 skeins already and I'm barely passing the half-way point. I'm pretty frugal with my threads, so I'm definitely not wasting the hand-dyed colors. You don't get much per skein, so either lay in a good supply right from the start, or possibly use all DMC if you'd like to save the money. The three most-used colors I've found to be the "Holly Berry", "Tea Rose," and "Ginger." It sounds like you've got plenty of Black, which is the most-used color 😊 Hope this helps!
Just so tiny stitches ,but it will be beautiful.l just love this pattern .what count are you doing this on please ? As l could never see the holes at my 80 years of age .
Hello, thank you for your nice comment. I am stitching this on a piece of Lugana "Mushroom" 28-count even weave, 2 over 2. I think the holes would be easier to see on linen, but I really don't like the inconsistencies in linen.
This is so gorgeous! 😍😍 I haven’t started this one yet but now I really want to. Did you do a conversion?
