Hello, my fellow cross stitch fans! In today's video I continue stitching on my Hoity Toity piece from Long Dog Samplers. I really love this piece, and stitching on it is a joy. I'm not sure how soon I'll be done, but it will be a focus piece in 2023. In an effort to have some semblance of organization, I've been numbering my Stitch With Me's within a titled series. So, if you want to watch the...

Thank you for sharing. Will definitely try it. They turned out beautiful!
I love the Love is patient chart! What floss and fabric are you using please?
Im stitching it on a piece of 28-count Khaki linen from Zweigart, and using one of the variegated DMC flosses (#4025) and DMC #3803 for the cranberry color.
@@inthecraftroom9724 thank you! Love it!!!
I love working with distress oxides and I'm always looking for new ways to use them. I really like how these came out.
Is your sponge wet or dry? These backgrounds are beautiful!💕
Hello, Rita. Thank you for the compliment 😊. I am using a dry sponge when I do my blending here.
I just started this pattern and am wondering where the heck the gold beads go. They don't look like they are attached in the picture and the instructions talk about them but they don't appear anywhere in the actual pattern
I'm sorry it's taken so long to respond, but I can't find my pattern anywhere :(. I do recall that the beads show up (barely) on the pattern as little colored dots. Maybe dark blue? I know there's a few random beads on the wing of the French Hen, and also somewhere on the Soldier's uniform (maybe cuffs or socks). I know this isn't very helpful, but when I actually FIND my project bag I can look and confirm for you :)
Beautiful!
Hello just ran across your video and oh boy I'm glad I I did. I think your technique suits me better than using the ink blending brush. Thanks so much for sharing
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching 😊
Hey love urfloss for this I was gifted a box of stitching stuff, this was one of things I found in box Iwas wondering if u could help with pattern as it is not numbered for page in order is printed doubled page I wantto start this one
Hello there! I would definitely reach out to Jacob at Modern Folk Embroidery and ask for his help on figuring out the pattern layout. I wouldn't be able to show you mine without accidentally breaking the copyright laws. He's a very kind man and will be happy to help 😊
This is so gorgeous! 😍😍 I haven’t started this one yet but now I really want to. Did you do a conversion?
Hello, Phoebe. Thank you for the compliment, and I want to say that I've been enjoying your videos 😃 For this pattern I am using some of the overdyed colors from GAST, and the more neutral colors using DMC. I also went with my own "black" using 1 strand of DMC 310 and 1 strand of DMC 3799. It gives a softer look and blends more seamlessly with the other colors. Thanks again for watching!
I love the animals. I am going to have to get the pattern and stitch it. I love it.
You should! They are so darn cute, and super fun to stitch 😊
That is beautiful. I look forward to seeing your progress.
Thank you so much 😊
Hi, I’m kitting up Hoity Toity. Would you mind sharing with me the colors that need more than one skein. I bought a hank of black silk, so I should be good there. Your stitching is beautiful.
Hello, Susan. Thank you for the compliment 😊 I am doing a mix of DMC and the Gentle Arts threads, and I must say that you would easily need 5 skeins each of the hand-dyed colors, plus more. I am using the called for "Holly Berry" red, and that color has used about 5 skeins already and I'm barely passing the half-way point. I'm pretty frugal with my threads, so I'm definitely not wasting the hand-dyed colors. You don't get much per skein, so either lay in a good supply right from the start, or possibly use all DMC if you'd like to save the money. The three most-used colors I've found to be the "Holly Berry", "Tea Rose," and "Ginger." It sounds like you've got plenty of Black, which is the most-used color 😊 Hope this helps!
@@inthecraftroom9724 Thank you. This definitely helps. I will be using a mix of threads, too. I love your bright colors.
Thank you so much for this video! I am trying to learn to use the oxide sprays that I bought and I think that I can use them with a sponge too! I know that this video is 5 years old and please don’t take what I am going to say as bad, but rather just something to think about because I am definitely not perfect either! I use those little make up sponges over and over just by squeezing the paint out In clean water. It works great and keeps a little bit of plastic out of the environment. I hope that you are still crafting!! Beautiful makes!💕
Thank you so much for your comment, Donna. When I use those sponges for applying my makeup I can rinse and re-use them a few times, but they don’t hold up for me in the craft room. They crumble and tear and make a big mess, so I don’t bother anymore. But I certainly agree that every little bit we can do to help the environment is very important 😊. Have fun playing with your oxide sprays!
Just so tiny stitches ,but it will be beautiful.l just love this pattern .what count are you doing this on please ? As l could never see the holes at my 80 years of age .
Hello, thank you for your nice comment. I am stitching this on a piece of Lugana "Mushroom" 28-count even weave, 2 over 2. I think the holes would be easier to see on linen, but I really don't like the inconsistencies in linen.
@@inthecraftroom9724 l just love this cross stitch ,as l have seen it completed in other colours ,it’s stunning .🥰
I don't like having many WIPs either. They nag at me. My mom would start projects and never finish them and it bugged me. I'm still waiting on the lamb stuffed toy she was making for me. And I'm 61 and she's been dead for over 40 years...lol I'm beginning to think she won't finish it!
This made me laugh, Kim! I think you should send me your partial lamb and it can go in the bag where I keep the Christmas stocking WIP I've had for 15 years! We'll call it our Crafting Time Capsule 😃
I was going to email you but I couldn't figure out your email address. I'm not thrilled about leaving public messages. I am expecting my 12 Days of Christmas Santa kit any day now. By the way, you should add the word Santa to your description because Jim Shore did different chart called 12 Days of Christmas. I just started stitching this last August so I'm still learning. While looking at the part you have already stitched, I noticed the pattern has shiny gold thread in it. Is the gold thread hard to stitch with? Are there any tricks or special techniques when stitching with it?
There is some very thin gold thread in the kit, and I have a few suggestions. They don't include enough of the gold to double your strands, so the coverage is quite thin. You will also want to use a shorter length of it when stitching, maybe no longer than 10" on your needle. I actually went over my gold stitches with a very similar gold thread I had in my stash to give it better coverage. If you don't have that yourself, you could stitch the area with a golden colored floss first, then add the thin gold on top of it for sparkle. Once it's all done, backstitched and everything, I think it looks good regardless 😊
What a pretty design. Thank you for sharing😊
Thank you! 😊
I love this! What is the fabric called?
I would choose number three definitely I think that looks stunning!
Thank you, Cindy. That's a gorgeous one for sure!
Beautiful! 😍
Thank you! 😊
Love your combos great video Thankyou 😊
Glad you enjoyed!
Your stitching is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for your kind words, Tammy 😊
Very pretty!
Thank you! 😊
Your stitching is lovely, the Purple Dragonfly was stitched on 20ct, can I ask was it 1 over 1 full cross or tent stitch 2 strands over 1. Beautiful, happy stitching.
Hello, and thank you! I used one strand, full crosses.
@@inthecraftroom9724 Thank you for your reply, I am going to stitch Nostalgia by Ching Chou Kuik. I will be stitching on 20ct same as you thanks for your help.
Great job on your video 👍
Thank you!
Just the stitch with me I’ve been looking for nice and quiet and I can really see your stitching. I love it. I’ve watched all the series. I’m gonna go back and watch more.
Thank you, Cindy. I'm so glad you liked it! I've already got a few more videos ready to roll out soon :-)
❤
very pretty
Thank you! 😊
I am curious what kind of tripod you use to record this and how you have it set up.
Hello, Danielle! I used the Sensyne 62" Phone Tripod that I bought on Amazon for $20. It can hold your phone horizontally or vertically, and it can adjust to any height you need. I have it standing as close to my chair as the legs will allow, with the phone angled down to my stitching. The only drawback is that you can only film from a side angle instead of directly overhead. You could stand it in front of yourself for a beautiful direct shot, but my poor vision means I'd be too far back to see my stitches 🥺. Anyway, hope this info helps, and thank you so much for watching!
🦋🌻
Great video. Looking forward to purchasing my first Gecko Rouge kit in the next few months so it was great to see how it will look.
Hope you enjoy it!
Clompen stampers
really nice
Thank you! Cheers!
What kind of paper is it, I didn’t here.
I used Strathmore watercolor paper for the inking - watercolor paper withstands all of the water better than regular card stock. The card itself was made on a base of my favorite white card stock Neenah Solar White 90-lb.
Love the card! What paper did you use?
Loved how you blended without blending tools! One and done, genius!
Glad you liked it!
Beautiful 🤩
Thanks 🤗
hello! I love your projects💕I am looking forward to your next work 🤗

All your embroidery is beautiful. 💖💖💖💖💖
Awww, thank you so much 😊
Gorgeous card :)
Thanks so much 😊
Great technique...have you got OCD. I like to be tidy but you are always cleaning every second...🤭🤭🤭
I know this kit is from 2017. I bought it but then got sick and never got to use it. Anyway this kit is still sitting in my craft room and it is now 2021. I just came across this video and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE every card u made with this kit. Like seriously soooo nice. Thank u for this video. I have saved it to a list and I hope to get back to my craft room someday. I actually have about 12 kits from yrs ago waiting to be used, lol. Major inspiration from u. I would give this video 100 thumbs up if I could bcuz just one doesn't do u justice.
Gosh Penni, I'm blushing! Thank you for the very kind words :-) This kit was so much fun to play with, and I hope you can get to yours soon. Have a wonderful day!
Nice set. Just curious...is there a reason that you show everything in detail except the die set?
That was definitely an oversight on my part...I meant to film that separately and insert it into the video 😔
What paper did you use
This is amazing! I am just starting the very same artist! I chose QS Sea Breeze and also using a 20 ct. EG even weave.. Now I just have to have this one also 😊 You do beautiful beautiful work and thank you for uploading this video! 🙏🏽
