The French just nail so many of these films. A superb story with superb acting from all the actors. I think I cried all the way through the last half of the film!
Such a sweet and touching movie about falling in love and discovering your true self. Both lead actors are joy and have great chemistry on screen and a blossoming friendship have developed during making thd film. The ending did make me tearup .. recommend it.
I watched this movie and then I went back and rewatched just the scenes of the two boys- they had such magnificent chemistry, then watched it again because the story of Lucas is a story unto itself. I guess you can see I loved this film.
I needed to see this because I was so sad for Jeremy’s character and he played it so well, I believed it! They both did, but it was Stephane left behind, so vulnerable, with so many questions, to be answered only years later…after Thomas is gone 😢
I just saw this film on the BBC iPlayer. I watched it in the early hours of the morning and just cried. And cried. Beautiful. Gorgeous. Love it. I like the way they differentiated between attitudes of the 1980s and nowadays. I empathised with Young Thomas because I was 17 in 1985, and people knowing I fancied blokes was a big no no - not if I didn’t want to be mercilessly bullied and beaten up. Nowadays I couldn’t give a fig whether or not people know I’m gay. But the older Thomas still couldn’t handle it obviously and still covered up his feelings. Very sad. I would love to see Julien and Jérémy in more LGBT films.
