Not gonna lie, the fight with the Death Rite Bird is pretty annoying. Fought it recently, even with the holy damage, it's kinda hard to hit, the camera's just all over the place locking onto the Bird's weird shape. And get caught in any big moves like the ghostflame explosion, say bye-bye to the HP bar.
I think that dead maiden at the very start was OUR dead finger maiden, which is why we start the game maidenless. I think that bloody Varré killed her. He is the first NPC we meet after we wash up in the Stranded Graveyard, and he is the one who instructs us to get the blood of a finger maiden later. He also knows we are maidenless somehow. We can use that dead maiden's blood to soak the cloth for the Varré quest, as well as the one in the church you used.
ah yes the part of the game where fromsoft was just like "throw a dart at a dartboard and whatever enemy it lands on is the one that spawns in this area." so random

Ohhh I've literally always thought the Hoslow helm was indeed asymmetrical and the thing was kinda coming out of the eye or something but I guess I've never tried it on. (Or noticed during the fight)
Oh yo, did they fix that one Wolnir? There used to be one at the end which wasn't linked to the mariner and would spawn indefinitely. I guess they've finally fixed it over 2 years later.

SPOILER Shabriri's supposed to be at the entrance of the Mountaintops to lure you to the Leyndell sewers and become the Lord of Frenzied Flame. Once you take the Frenzy, he'll vanish and leave behind Yura's armor (since, you know, his task is done). Our man became the Lord of Frenzy just before the Mountaintops, so Shabriri vanished without any dialogue.
SPOILER Shabriri takes possession of Yura's body after Yura dies to Eleonora, much like Hyetta seems to take the body of Irina. Something about the Frenzied Flame seems to lead to body hijacking. Weird and a little confusing.

yea locking on to the body instead of the head seemed like the better call for sure. tough fight!
