I like that is simple enough that you can get a group up and running and finish it in one session, and then it is subtle enough to reward numerous replays.
I'm going to learn by playing solo, so I'll report more. I think the only place that would want some resolution is the battle/siege system, in two places.
You know, this genre and period are not my cup of tea, but despite that, you made me interested in it. It really is a gorgeous game. You keep getting better at these videos, amigo.
Love when a wargames/historical game is secretly just a heavy eurogame. Those are definitely my favorite of the wargame genre. Everytime I see this box cover though, somehow my brain ignores the H and I struggle to try to figure out what game "Lords of eaven" is (it's just box art though, so it doesn't actually affect the game)
Haha, that's funny on the H. I didn't think of it that way, but I suppose once you see it that way it's hard to undo. And yes, this one looks like it could be quite fun. :)
Thanks for the clear presentation. I've been trying to figure out if this might be a good game for my family. (We play "heavy Euros" or light wargames.) From an initial description, it seems that it might be a bit heavier than a "heavy Euro". So, I will certainly want to see your playthroughs and further thoughts.
I'll know more in a few days, yes. I feel like I need to play this to get a sense for the complexity. Looking at the rules it looks both straightforward and a bit meaty at the same time. Sometimes when you play a game like this is can go either way. I'll know more by Thursday-ish. :)
Interesting game seem like fun but the two-four players make this type of game something I avoid now since I mostly play solo and these games really require others to make it fun. I miss playing my old Diplomacy game but again same issue it just doesn’t work alone
I thought you were Zilla Von Blitz? All kidding aside! Well when you go to siege Jerusalem make sure you make more than two siege towers. Looks interesting.
I'm looking forward to playing this one this week. And there will be a slight delay in tomorrow's U-Boat patrol, but we'll be back at sea later this week.
@@ZillaBlitz I am going to have to crack the whip Captain Von Blitz. I need your U-Boat to sea asap! The orders have come down and they want you sailing before the sun has set!
That's an interesting question. There is a menu of actions you're picking from, and asymmetrical factions, but beyond that it's not super COIN-ish. But the action menu does have a COIN-ish feel to it, yes. It's easier than a COIN game, though, I think.
As a former History teacher, this game is right up my alley! Time to watch Kingdom of Heaven one more time! I want this!
Ah, good video suggestion!
Looks amazing.
I'm testing it out the prototype this weekend. :)

Hope I win a copy hehehehe

I think so, yes. Kind of what we were talking about in the car. Single-sitting wargames. :)
Looks great! Thank you so much for introducing me to this game!
Sure thing, my pleasure, thanks for stopping in. :)
Excellent preview Zilla, a must buy for me.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it, working on a gameplay demo video tonight. :)
Fantastic overview video. Super keen for this game!
Thanks! Starting to play tonight. :)
Looks like fun. Bummer on the solo play outlook. I'll have to come up with a bot for that. You know, because I'm going to win this game. ;)

Looking forward to watching your video showing gameplay of this one. Look interesting.
I 've really enjoyed this one. :)
I’m really interested in this. First Crusade is a crazy story in all of human history.
Looks like it would make a great sequel play from Seljuk :)
Ah, yes, the timing would work pretty well to connect to this from Seljuk, nice idea!

Thanks for the kind words, Joey!
Thanks for offering a giveaway once again :)
My pleasure, and thanks to Noble Knight for sponsoring it!

Quite a fun game!
I am very much interested. This looks right up my alley
I am getting it to the table shortly. :)
As always, very enjoyable. Thank you.

Great overview!
Thank you sir!
Well, threw my hat into the ring, this game really looks interesting :)
Good luck!
great preview.
Thanks!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Sure thing, we'll be choosing the winner tomorrow. :)
What an interesting game! Super nice.
On the table with it, now, should have the next video up tomorrow. :)

I'll be learning it solo and will report back in my next video. :)
WE had one Crusade where only unarmed Christian children went....no one came back.
Looks great but makes me want to play Infidel to scratch that wargame itch!
I’m not familiar with that one, CK3 makes me want to place this and this makes me want to play CK3. :)
Where do I go to do the survey and partake in the free game drawing?
Sure thing. The link to the survey is in the video description. :)

@@ZillaBlitz I don't accept failure in my unit Captain Von Blitz. You shall do your duty for the Fatherland and get your U-Boat to sea post haste! :D
