I've watched OWL too, and unfortunately the game is not as strategically complex. Maybe some viewers enjoy watching displays of raw mechanical skill (like in CSGO), but I personally love more tactical games like this. The way G2 constantly go against the textbook and defy expectations of "traditional" League of Legends gameplay is amazing to watch.
Doinb was an Orianna + Viktor two trick in his early days. He definitely plays Orianna, and he plays it in KR soloq and CN soloq on stream as well (haven't been following his EU soloq) but it's true he doesn't play Syndra.
This semis with G2 and SKT this year will be written in the history of competitive play. Faker cant bear all of the burden SKT put him into. Feels bad for him.

Imagine living in a world where one "western", EU team, is better than a whole major region, with such abnormal teams and history like Korea. I'm going to shine a light on something which needs clarifying and will likely happen on Nov 10. People still underestimate how good this FPX team are when on form, and at the moment they're on form. I think fans from all teams a like have disrespected FPX this year mainly due to two factors, they're a new team in the big tournament so they were more or less seen as a dark horse than a true favourite coming in to the tournament. Their groups performance left a lot to be desired too. This has kind of put them unnoticed for the rest of the tournament compared to the likes of G2 and SKT, hence many believed IG and even FNC would beat them. All the while the fans have been blinded by this G2 hype train (don't get me wrong, G2 are very strong this year) for so long they've totally forgot about and disregarded the LPL. Who has been the stronger region over Korea for the better part of 2 years now. I'm a European but I don't really have a favourite team, I like to watch all the major LoL leagues and from a non bias perspective I have to give the edge to FPX. This will be KOO tigers vs FNC in 2015 all over again when Smeb said he'd make Brussels feel like a library. Thinking about it more.. G2 has had such a harder path to finals than FPX. Having to get through GRF and group A, DWG and SKT while FPX had to get through the joke of Group B, FNC and IG. I Think G2 will be as ready as ever for this game.
Also if you compare to how g2 defeated fnatic vs how fpx defeated fnatic, you can notice some trends especially considering that FPX is closer to the real FPX now than versus Fnatic.

I'm saying it's a 55/45 for who wins worlds with slight edge to g2. Reason being, I think they've showed they can match the teamfighting skill of fpx closely enough and have no problem with a bloodthirsty early game like fpx showed in semi's. Individually g2 probably has a slight edge in individual player skill, thus the slight edge. I will be happy either way though as these are the two teams I most wanted to see in finals. Everyone hating on fpx is just being dumb. It's their first year at worlds and they're a new team even within lpl, yet they've taken down some great competitors. Sure they maybe struggled a bit to find their footing, but they found it. That's the hallmark of a great team - just like g2 in semi's. You can overcome obstacles and win. Not out of pure luck, but because you are that good as a team.
Also I'd raise that percentage another 5% in g2s favor due to their 6th man (The crowd) which heavily affected the SKT game. But i still believe FPX might be able to win this one.

At this point I really can't rank the regions anymore. LCK, LEC and LPL is just so close right now. You can argue anyone is the best. LCK: Best game knowledge, biggest region that exports players. All the other regions either have their players or coaches. LPL: S8 champion, S9 runner up, with two teams in top 4, most mechanically intense region. LEC: S9 grand slam, all three teams in quarter finals. Best in game reactions, best balance between managing and fighting. League is really getting more and more entertaining.

Honestly i feel Faker playing poorly is way overblown, like the only game he even played actually bad in was game 4, and that was largely due to Jankos being put on "stop Faker flanking duty" but also getting caught a few times. The rest of the games he wasn't incredible or hardcarrying, but he did fine

The Yasuo-Gragas bot is not even new but Teddy was able to show up that game. They mainly drafted around Khan which at some point, Khan was able to carry but he is against Wunder. G2 is mainly about Perkz and Caps, and SKT failed to stop these superstars. For me, I would rather draft around Faker. If there is someone in SKT where I will put all my money, it would be Faker. Win or Lose, if we set the game for Faker, most fans would be satisfied. Anyway, I agree with you. I don't think Faker is underperforming based on World's average. I don't think you can say EU>Korea, but I think it's plausible to say they're about equal. People tend to underestimate EU teams because of their inconsistency, but forget the amazing highs a lot of european teams have. I mean you saw Splyce perform. A lot of people didn't even expect this team to make worlds in the first place.
2013 - 2017 was the Korean (Mostly SKT) Dynasty. 2018 was the year of the LPL (RNG & IG). G2 needs to win worlds in order to make 2019 the year of the LEC.
If i recall correctly, SKT won MSI and Worlds in the same year (2015) But they didn't won regional champion like G2. G2 won everything they are in, even the rift rival.
SKT won msi and worlds but not both LCK seasons, so a proper golden road with all tournaments won would be a first if G2 won finals, which I damn sure hope they do.

I too think and hope that G2 wins it all but man FPX makes me so nervous, i remember being scared with that Qiyana pick in game 4 against G2 because of what happened when Tian picked her against IG. Also seeing Doinb against Caps will be nice to see.
Honestly i feel Faker playing poorly is way overblown, like the only game he even played actually bad in was game 4, and that was largely due to Jankos being put on "stop Faker flanking duty" but also getting caught a few times. The rest of the games he wasn't incredible or hardcarrying, but he did fine
Hesket Faker is the goat and too much expectations. People are use to seeing him play well so when he doesnt, they just instantly write him off. Sad...

SKT had a very dominating Summer Playoffs running the full gauntlet starting from the wild card mainly because all their drafts revolve around Faker.
Giving Faker a counter pick, cheese pick, or a more favorable match.
This match against G2, for me, was SKT underestimating G2. SKT drafted poorly that they didn't prepare anything new. The Yasuo-Gragas bot is not even new but Teddy was able to show up that game. They mainly drafted around Khan which at some point, Khan was able to carry but he is against Wunder.
G2 is mainly about Perkz and Caps, and SKT failed to stop these superstars.
For me, I would rather draft around Faker.
If there is someone in SKT where I will put all my money, it would be Faker.
Win or Lose, if we set the game for Faker, most fans would be satisfied.

I don't think Faker is underperforming based on World's average. He is just underperforming based on his Godly Standards which fans expect from.
But I agree, Jankos was the key on Game 4. 2 Big team fights went in Favor of G2 because Faker was zoned out by Jankos.
Of course, trash fans won't even consider that, they'll just conclude Faker is underperforming.

SKT def view G2 as the formidable force, if not the biggest one at Worlds. The problem is the pressure of game 1. Once G2 secured G1, SKT pressure was only building up more.

Faker needs confidence to perform and he has been lacking that for a while. He was a major reason SKT lost the series and I honestly think if he wasn't Faker, he would have already been subbed or replaced. G2 turned him into Shaker. Hope he finds his mojo again. All the best to him and good luck to G2 as well, they deserve it and need it.

probably because if you are talking about Rumble, the filthier combo isn't Rumble/Qiyana, it's Rumble/Jarvan IV.

I don't think you can say EU>Korea, but I think it's plausible to say they're about equal. People tend to underestimate EU teams because of their inconsistency, but forget the amazing highs a lot of european teams have. I mean you saw Splyce perform. A lot of people didn't even expect this team to make worlds in the first place.

Doinb will be average at best if claps shows up. What I want to see tbh is Tian vs Jankos. Both are great junglers but my praise goes to Tian.
Tbh doinb has crazier picks than caps overall. But both teams are known for their fiestas. I expect some crazy picks and some interesting games
