Have had a M6 since 1996 and a Summilx 35 mm 1.4. Love it. You can always find something.........I love mine. Will never ever ever replace it for ANY OTHER CAMERA IN THE WORLD........
Snap! We are on the same page! My three cameras are a Leica M6, a Rollei 35S and a FujiX100V! I love them all. Sometimes the Summicron 35mm sharpness is too sharp but mostly it is perfect. The Rollei is great for grain and mood shots and I keep it in my jacket pocket so I have got shots when the M6 is not with me. I mostly zone focus with both film cameras. Cheers.
I would love to buy M6 but here in S.Korea we have HUGE price bump ever since one of the BTS members showed up with it...😭 already was expensive, now it is humongous
The prices are kind of insane these days. If I wanted one I would just spend the extra money for a brand new M-P or M-A. I had an M6 (and an M2 and an M4-2) and I should have never sold them. Ah well...
Two very different cameras! The M240 is a little bulky! And you do notice the difference in thickness between the two! I’d never ever sell my M6, it’s timeless, whereas I can see the M240 will go one day
I started my Leica journey with the M10M....I justified the cost because it was SO unique. And so far, I have not been disappointed, I love the camera and shooting in Monochrome has really hit my creative tastes. Then...I found a deal on a barely used Leica MA for 35mm film. I figured to use the M10M for black and white and keep color film in the MA. I have other cameras, mostly medium format for film and found I used those much more often than the MA. However, I just got a reveni small light meter for the hot shoe of the MA and I think that will bring me to carrying it more often. I hate to say it, I do Love the Leica 'feel' and experience. I thought that was all bluster and nonsense when I heard others say that before buying one. I kinda get it now but I still don't understand why I enjoy them so much.
@@chilecayenne nice camera collection you’ve got, I bought the m10m last month 😁 And ya ana totally agree with you when i got my first Leica I thought it’s going to be just one camera I really love going out and taking photos again and it made me a better photographer to be honest.
It is not the camera that "renders the image." It is the lens and film used with the camera that does so. Now, with digital cameras it is a very different story.
@@Goughie eventually I want to own a digital leica down the road. Probably a MP240 ! I love the MP bodies. If I could afford one I’d go with the M10P. I also would love a Q-P.
The results of film, well done and well scanned is very different from Digital. Don't compare. Strangely shooting film, I remember most exposures! Digital very few! Colour becomes horribly expensive with film..
Would make sense! As they never added it to the MP either! Them Canon and Nikon SLRs with 4000/1 is crazy! for something mechanical it’s very impressive!
This is indeed why it caps at 1/1000th. For a horizontally traveling cloth shutter, that's the limit of its physics. If the Leicas had faster traveling metal curtains, you would lose that quiet shutter.
I don’t see the point of shooting film in 2022. It’s very expensive to buy and process film and on top of that you still use a scanner or a camera to take a picture of the negative to digitise it. Why are there so many film photographers in 2022, they still scanning making it a digital camera. What you think?
My view… The most important bit…. It’s fun, and what more of a reason does anyone ever need than to enjoy themselves And expensive is subjective. Some people are happy spending £3k on a camera camera and having £5k worth of lenses but saying no it’s cheap because each photo is free… film can be low cost… just depends how you look at it, there’s 100s of different medium format film cameras under £100 you can’t get close to that with digital Black and white is actually really cheap if you develop yourself, you can get film down to circa £3 a roll if you buy correctly, and home developing near 50p £3.50 to have some added fun on a day out…. Often pay more to park or buy a coffee in the U.K
Why i shot film? Film photos are sooooo much better than digital ones. The colors, the grain, the mood, the natural look and the actual print of the photo unlike the digital photo that remains usually only on the hard disk and got forgotten or lost within time. Film: think, feel, observe, create, dream, hope, soul, deep, patient, adventurous, in the scene, attentive, walk around for the right perspective and then press the button in the right moment. Digital: in a rush, no time, distracted, machine gunner, camera screeny, quantity instead or quality, soulless, superficial and with impatience miss the right moment and shot. Film is real, digital is fake.

Absolutely one of my grail cameras!
It’s still mine now, honestly!

great video! Leica is my favorite camera.
Great video! I'm hoping to buy a M6 very soon as well!
Would love to try one!
Trying one is a slippery slope!

Ahaha! That’s annoying! Kendal Jenner did the same with a contax a couple years ago!

The prices are mad, however the two you mention brand new here in the U.K. are twice as expensive! You could buy a used M6 and 50mm summliux for less
@@Goughie In Australia the differences are slightly less. I'd rather not have a camera than pay that much for an M6. It's either new or nothing!
How do you compare the M6 vid the M240?

It’s a gorgeous camera but very expensive.
I bought the Q2 so wont buy any more lenses, after one year i got the M9 and m10-p and 3 leica lenses 🤣
That sounds like me! 😂 the temptation is too strong!

I'm pretty sure the maximum 1/1000 shutter speed is due to physics. Can't get any faster than that with that type of shutter.
