This review is great! I started playing Wizardry 7 recently after being away from the series for 15 years and I wish I hadn't stayed away so long. I love the different races like Lizardmen, Cat and Dog people, Yeti guys like the Mook. I love playing as the weird sort of monstrous creatures. Wizardry 7 had the best atmosphere and mood of all the games its dark and creepy at times. I love your videos man! Keep it up!
The games we used to play with almost zero help from the internet is pretty amazing. I remember spending hours, or even days, puzzling over what to do next or where to go next in various quests. Different world.

I wish more people would review the Wizardry Gold version. Voice over's and all. Crusader's is good, but I absolutely loved the Gold version and still have the original box! O_O I was drawn into the world as soon as I heard, "I am Alethedes. With the pen and hand of destiny."
My issue with this review is that the music is definitively muted? I know that what I remember and what I'm hearing in this review just isn't the same as the games I've played on Wiz7.

I'd like to carry the Diamond Ring all the way to Wizardry 8 because I saw there was a special event if you did so. Any tips on what kind of characters I should use for a full playthrough of the series?
This "looks" like the best Wizardry version I've seen. I played Wizardry 1 on an 8088 and really enjoyed it. I bought Wizardry 8 years ago but I couldn't handle the 3D graphics. They were just too blocky for me. I think the game could have been better with 2D graphics. Anyhow, I enjoy your reviews of these classic Wizardry games. Brings back good memories, hopefully, we'll see games like this comeback. I'm thinking about buying Pillars of Eternity 1 & 2. I really like games that last a week or more. They are definity worth buying.

I really enjoyed it, I've been looking at Ultima games, Gold Box games, and the Wizardry series. Pillars of Eternity and Wasteland 2 are the only modern games I can find that look acceptable to play. While I enjoyed Fallout 3 a lot, quite a few adventure games have been pretty disappointing for many years. If you have any recommendations for modern games that would be great. I'm really having a hard time finding new adventure games that are worth the investment time...
Wizardry 8 was awesome. So, l am trying to now play the whole trilogy. Recently finished 6. It was slow to get into, but it was good. I’m glad l played it. Wizardry 7 though ... l am currently playing, with the help of a guide. About halfway through the game, and l am not having the best time with it. It pisses me off often. I just want to get through it so l can import to 8.
Wait, do you emphasize the Sir, or the Tech? Are we talking about a Knight named tech, or Tech that is noble? FF Legend series was the only other thing I played at this time that did sci fantasy.

I once reached L1000 with a solo ninja back in the late 90s. I'll give a spoiler hint about about how to level up quickly. Umpani are vulnerable to bring blinded, Zoid are vulnerable to mind effecting spells, and the shop keep in Ukpyr forgets if you refuse to give him your orders. The Humpawammer gets you back to New City where you can ask father Rulae for holy sacrament and go back and forth once you have a humpa card. I usually make trips back and forth from the fountain and supply depot until all my characters have cycled through the classes and have all the spells and skills. Once you are done with the supply depot, finish the Umpani quest line and save and use recharge on the thermal pineapple until it has 99 charges. The rest of the game is pretty easy from there combat-wise, you just have to figure out the puzzles. I like to end with three fairy ninjas in front and three monks in the back ranks. 2 Cane of corpus and a light sword and rod of sprites in off hand for the ninjas, Zatoichi Bo for the monks. Choose gown for path of power and get it equipped on a couple of fairies in munkharama while you are powering up and getting all the spells before you do ninja and monk.

I loved that game - the inventory/party member screen is one of the best pieces of music ever!
I spent so much time playing this game, such great times! The variety of spells, creatures, and terrains was great.

This "looks" like the best Wizardry version I've seen. I played Wizardry 1 on an 8088 and really enjoyed it. I bought Wizardry 8 years ago but I couldn't handle the 3D graphics. How long did you play to get to level 147? I am 154 hours in... currently all charakters are lvl 26 ninja, albeit after multiple class changes...
It takes a very long time, but there are secrets to speed up the process by a large amount. Not going to give away any secrets. :P
